BWW vs. TEAM Part 2
By Xanadustc in A/QMOs
I finally had time today to dip back into the box of TEAM tapes. To catch you up, I have a detailed knowledge of the Britt World Wide (BWW) Professional Development Program affiliated with Quixtar. I detail the teachings of BWW on my own blog, Standing Order Tape. A little while back, a site reader sent me a box of tapes from the TEAM Professional Development Program wanting some of my perspectives. I wrote a post a few weeks back where I gave perspectives from listening to only one tape (except the 6 tapes from Pastor Robert L. Dickie).
Today I was able to listen to three more tapes to see how they compared to BWW tapes. I am sorry to say that BWW and TEAM sound exactly the same. I will not even bother to list particular details because that would take hours, but here are some thoughts.
Chris & Terry Brady, “One like You”, TOD184 - I was anxious to listen to a tape by these people because Pastor Dickie kept on edifying them as great people. I recall Chris Smith from the other post doing the same. I found this speaker to be a little over the edge in comparing everyone to sheep just following a foolish way of life. It goes so far that he starts bleating like a sheep after almost every phrase for over five minutes. Is that the character of a great person?
Next, he went through quite an extensive list of all the types of people that you will find when you show the plan. Of course he literally insults every person that does not get in.
Mark Paul, “The Top Ten Reasons Why People Fail”, PPS75 - I will not list all 10 of his reasons, but the bottom line is that you should get into system, and without the system, you will fail. Additionally, you never reinvent the wheel. We hear all the same things: write down everyone you know without prejudging, and never try to do the business without your upline because the system is set and works. You also need to get better people skills, so you need to plug into the system to get the books that it offers. In fact, he says to get the top five books (does not list what they are).
Of course he addresses the “your own business” issue by saying that if it is your own business, you might want to listen to us so we can help you build it.
Orrin & Laurie Woodward, “Our Destiny Said, ‘Go!’”, TOD187 - This is the EDC Rally tape for Orrin & Laurie. The first thing that I noticed is that they were preaching about how God gave them this business, etc. It was certainly far enough to make persons of another religion uncomfortable, and thus may be a violation of Quixtar’s rules regarding religious expression. They are supposed to be learning about how to run their business, but they paid to hear that both live and on the weekly tape that they purchased.
Orrin also repeatedly addresses the critics (like myself) and paints a straw man that they are just broke, miserable, angry people who have no vision. That could not be further for the truth. This whole team of people on this site as well as others are very driven, but we take time out of our day to warn of the real life problems with involvement in these PDPs.
Conclusions - My final thoughts are that the TEAM and BWW system essentially teach the same thing. Yes, I know that is a ‘surprise’ to some people, but my point is two fold:
- That no one group is “best” even though they all claim to have that position.
- That they are both deadly in their own right, they warp reality, use questionable material and methods, rely on emotion over facts, and seek to discredit people like me because they can not stand up to the facts.

Oh. I thought you said "goat person".
I thought you might like the gaaing person...isn't a sheep closely related to a goat?
College vs. Quixtar always makes for interesting discussion...

Javert:
I posted a comment on your blog Javert, and it's not showing up.
Please don't tell me you have moderation on.
I wasted 5 minutes and feel misleaded yet by another IBO. I feel stupid.
When you invite other ppl on ur blog to....uh....discuss, have comments option open.
Dude, get a backbones if you don't have balls. I want to see my comment appearing in real time. That's the reason I stopped reading Mevi's blog. (There's something very fishy about him lately, I don't trust him)
I can't post to Javert's blog, so I'll be rude, hijack the thread and comment here. Do you think the world would be better served by more doctors/scientists or more IBOs? The surgeon who is operating in the emergency room on your daughter, would you rather she spend her free time resting, reading about new procedures and doing fun activities that she enjoys and clear her mind or studying the system and driving all night to STP?
IF there are more IBOs with graduate degrees than represented in the general public (only seen anecdotal evidence), I would suggest that it is because many people choose their career based on income and prestige, not on their calling. Once they have invested so much time and money, they are unhappy but feel trapped. Perhaps the answer is to find what they truly want to do, not jump to another goal because it offers money and prestige?
Also, if as you say, most platinums have degrees, doesn't that higher education is valuable as an IBO? Whether it is the education, time management, people skills or perseverence, wouldn't that mean that the experience improves ones odds of "making it" (although the platinums I know are still "faking it") and therefore college should be encouraged before signing up as an IBO?

This is just my personal experience, as education is something I feel passionate about. I was an IBO for almost three years, all while completing my undergrad in business. I had tremendous pressure to quit school while I was involved with BWW and Quixtar, and almost did. Please don’t dispute that I didn't build it correctly. My husband and were out there 5-6 nights a week, showing the plan, contacting, doing Artistry parties, purchasing extra tools, never missing a meeting, even if it meant driving all night to attend, everything it took. I even had a small group coming on. The wake up call was at the end of my undergrad, I had less in student loans than I had invested in the business when filing taxes. For three years, My husband and I took a loss of about $12,000 on average for BWW. That would make our ROI a big whopping zero! Because I worked hard, and could maintain some scholarships, I currently have $11,000 TOTAL in student loans for my undergrad, and am currently completing a graduate degree completely FREE!
Here’s the breakdown:
Student loans: $11,000
Time invested: 4 ½ years
Current Salary: $48,000
BWW Investment: $36,000
Time invested: 2 ¾ years
Current income: $0 (we never even broke even)
My education means more to me than it would ever mean to have my hands raised on stage. I worked for it, and I didn’t take advantage of anyone to get there. This is just my personal experience, and I’m sure you can spend less in the business, but this was the action recommended by our LOS. I wouldn’t trade my education for anything.
Just read some more of Javert's blog and I am completely convinced he is doing it as a joke. I admit, before I read the whole thing, I was taken in, hook, line and sinker thinking he was really a gung-ho IBO. He really can't be. Notice the lack of business specifics. He is a probably ex, at least not-so-active IBO who is pretending to be the sterotypical caricature of someone Fired-Up.
Some of the posts and responses are quite hilarious when you see them as the satire they undoubtedly are. I salute you, Javert! You nailed what the critics see as the brainwashed IBO and a lot of us completely bought it.
The reason why the "System" is a fundamental part of this business, is because you do not want to be the answer man or woman in your organization. You want everyone to learn the pure information from the educational materials, so you can take yourself out of the equation. Otherwise, down the line as your business grows, you will just have a JOB and not the passive income which was intended for this type of business. More free time and more income. Sure money is made off the materials, but with the Team as I understand it, equal opportunity profit sharing can be obtained at Platinum level on up. This only helps you to become profitable sooner in your business. A common sense approach.
Well here is a good tip!
Check out the Lawsuit filed in California by Team vs. Quixtar Aug. 9, 2007. Also Quixtar is changing their name back to Amway within the next 12 months. Are they brilliant or what? LOL
My opinion is that team has all the right ideas,of equil opprutunity, and truely want everyone to win.Quixtar as a supply system wouldn't give reasonable prices that are fair and affordable.Who can afford 30$$laundry soap.I love the team concept,so they need to kick some ass with quixtar!!
It goes so far that he starts “baaing” like a sheep after almost every phrase for over 5 minutes. Is that the character of a great person?
HELL YEAH!
