Quixtar Backbone Project - Entry Five
By QBlog in Backbone Project
About This Project
The main goal of this project is to initiate a dialogue with regular, hardworking IBOs by reaching out to what I refer to as the "Quixtar Backbone" (project details). If you'd like to participate send an email to quixtar@webraw.com (and put "Quixtar Backbone" as the subject).
Entry Number Five
Name: Ryan Wineland
Line of Sponsorship: Crowe/Dussault Dream Team
Current qualifying pin level: 600 pin
How long you’ve been in Quixtar/Amway contiguously: 2 years
Professional or educational background: Attended Duquesne University in 2000/2001 but left without a degree. Professionally I'm in the sales industry, as well as a part-time Martial arts and Qigong instructor.
Additional comments: "I'm not going to sit here and try and convince all of you nay sayers that this is the best business opportunity in the world. If you've already made up your mind that it doesn't work, then you're right, it will never work for YOU." - Kirk Wettschreck
- That needs to be given to the last gentleman who wrote this.... total paraphrase, but he summed it up well.
The Five Questions
- What impact do you believe so-called "Quixtar critic" sites have had on your business?
Negative sites haven't caused me any real personal trouble as I actually understand how to do worthwhile 'net research instead of praying to the "God of Google" if you will. But, like all IBOs I'd imagine, I have to sift through the same negative tabloid-worthy junk as everyone else when it comes to new prospects. - How much money have you made (estimated) selling products to non-IBOs?
I would say $600 to $1,000 by this point. Though, I'm starting to teach a Qigong and Junan Taiso class, which will in turn dramatically increase product sales as we're going to be going over nutrition and supplementation in conjunction with exercise and general health counselling. - What's your favorite Quixtar product, and why?
I can't say that I have a definitive "favorite", but it's a 3 way tie between Rhodiola, XS, and Double X. Why? That's plainly obvious... they're amazing for both mental and physical health. - Speculate on why so many so-called Quixtar critic website authors use their real names while many so-called Quixtar advocate websites are run anonymously.
This is a good question (also a loaded one, but good nonetheless). Many teams are distancing themselves from the Quixtar banner, if you will... and for many of them, it's understandable.
Our CEOs pussyfooted around playing defensive for entirely too long and let all that negative junk permeate entirely too deeply that there's now a stigma attached to the Quixtar name. Now, as for the websites, I really have no idea.
As to why "Quixtar haters" are honest with their names... they have nothing to hide and are simply making their opinions public. While I may not agree with what they say more often than not... it's just an opinion. Proof is one thing, an opinion is another. - Who is the one person you‚d like to see booted out of Quixtar?
I really don't have answer for this...sorry.
Comments
Let me see if I got this right. You made your 100PV, you saved $55.53, and you got a check for $7.85. Your saving of $55.53 is compared to what? Also did your $7.85 check cover all your exspenses for the month? Congrats on cashing in BIG!!
Qblog,
I had to comment on one question-
"Speculate on why so many so-called Quixtar critic website authors use their real names while many so-called Quixtar advocate websites are run anonymously."
Huh?!
Up until Monday- there were MORE anonymously run critic blogs than there were non anonymous IBO blogs.
Granted, I do give some credit to those guys who did come out publically that are critics. It's very brave of you guys... I wish you the best with the new blogging style. Maybe one or two of us pro IBO advocates could do a weekly post as well? Or try and at least find a fair and balanced post from the "Advocates" section in the forums.I've come to highly respect Qblog for being fair and balanced, and I hope he continues with that tradition.
Congratulations on saving 55 dollars. I shopped at Safeway and saved 75 dollars.
Hey, I can only envy you :) How are you doing today?
regarding pro-quix anonymous vs anti-quix real names:
I mentioned this in the forum under the thread on an open letter to Jody Victor's lawyer.
According to the link: http://www.eff.org/bloggers/lg/faq-defamation.php defamation suits become harder to take to court if the individual is a "public figure" and one of the ways to determine a "limited-purpose public figure" is: if the individual "voluntarily participates in a discussion about a public controversy". Therefore, if an IBO were to use their name on an anonymous forum/blog then they become a public figure, in name, and must then prove actual malice in defamation cases.
If, however, that blogger finds a post by a person on the blog addressed to him in name, and not him in handle, then it is against a private figure and is easier to charge in court.
From my understanding of this brief explanation of the law, that is a good reason for IBO's to stay anonymous. And like Ryan said: the critics have nothing to hide and are making opinions public.. they have nothing invested and thus nothing to protect. An IBO has their business. Like it or not... that is business.
Brad I have one word to say about this:
BALDERDASH!
Your ignorance of U.S. libel laws is amazing.
QBlog, i never claimed to be an expert, but interpreting this link, which you did not refute then, seems to support anonymity. If that is untrue, please provide the reasons.
Boy am I confused.
Someone stated that people are shying away for term "Quixtar"
I thought that "Quixtar" replaced "Amway" because it had become to negative.
Maybe it is time for a new name, say
"Conway"
I have spent 2 years building my quixtar business. I failed to do the true due dilligence with the income potential. In the end of the day one gets paid by volume they generate. As per quixtar's released financial numbers only 66 people in all of quixtar are actively in a level that earns them a six figure income. this tells me that it is extremely challenging to earn a significant income in quixtar.
I have a little over a year ago started on another network marketing company (which I will not name so that what I am saying here does not sound like propaganda) and within 3 months have earned more then I did in the 2 or so years in quixtar.
The moral of what I am saying is that network marketing works...with the right company and product(s). Quixtar has the worst compensation plan.

Hey guys,
What's up? Happy? Yeah! Easy! I did my 100 points and I saved 55.53$. I got excited! However, I was really excited when I have received a cheque of 7.85$ from Quixtar. Those 7.85$ did not come from my job but from my business, that is, I am in the business of creating market share for companies who advertise their products through Quixtar. When people will get in, it will get only better. I create more market share for the companies and they are willing to pay me according to my performance. Clear as daylight but not quite so for you guys, why? Ryan Wineland is not an exception. He is just like any other person. The only difference is that he has faith in his own ability to perform, in his dreams, in their accomplishments. How about you?
