Redesign Development
By QBlog in Blog News
I'm in the process of redesigning this site. The new design will be significantly different than this design but it's still a work in progress. You can help that progress by pointing out design elements and features of other blogs that you like.
Also, the creepy glaring eyes at the top of the page will be gone.
Thanks.
UPDATE: The redesign work continues and I've decided to toss in an homage to the creepy eyes. Basically, I'm putting eyes in the design but they're not so creepy.
And please, continue to offer design suggestions. You can help determine the way the new site looks.
Comments
What about Brad and his 4% challenge? Is that going to be a part of the redesign? THE COMMENTS DISAPPEARED.
Fu, if you write a message to qblog, you can get Brad's email address for the challenge. I sent him a message already.
Hey... I wrote to my "upline" with some links... he did EXACTLY as you say people do... and he sounded po'ed. If you want the emails, let me know, might make a good topic piece...
He said the that this stuff is "stuff on a bathroom wall", and that we are all "losers", etc etc.... AMAZING, really...
I have no intention of taking this offline THAT IS JUST WEIRD. If thats cool for your joe -- no pun intended -- then great for you.
QBlog why did you shut down the thread. Are we going to hear from Brad again? Are you ever going to do a follow up piece to the backbone project?
fu,
I plan to post the parameters of the challenge on the forum, I want the posters here to be able to see what is going on.
Hey Eric,
I know you shut off the comments on that post, with a request to continue in the forum. But why have the existing comments disappeared???
Hey Ryan,
Send the mails over to Eric, I am sure it would make a good post.
Perceptive, thanks for asking in a civilized manner.
No comments have disappeared - all 104 are still there as always.
This is a blog. Do I have to explain about permalinks?
Hey Eric,
Thanks for replying.
"Permalinks"?? I have heard that term before, but am ashamed ;-) to say, I don't know what that means....
The creepy glaring eyes are almost a trademark, a brand, if you will.
I'd keep them.
Dave
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permalink
I love to hate creepy eyes. Like Rick Flair or Peyton Manning.
See work one 24 hour shift and miss all the good stuff. Can someone please tell me what the 4% challenge is all about and on what post did it start?
By the way I like the creepy eyes too.
Hey Truth,
It started on the "Monday Reader Mail 72" post.
Oh, and thanks, Eric. Man, I must be falling behind the times ;-)....
The eyes must stay!
:-)
I'm surprised no one's said anything yet about Insider's creepy glaring eye.
:-)
It's from the forum stock avatars.
Imran told me it's a girl :-)
Sorry... I am new to the whole blog thing, I admit... not quite sure HOW to send the emails over... if somebody could tell me on here, or email me... ryanguhr at gmail.
Talk soon?
Perceptive, thanks for asking in a civilized manner.
QBlog - were you insinuating that I wasn't asking you questions in a civilized manner?
I guess I am still learning the rules here. Can someone define exactly what passes for 'civilized' at this blog?
Relax Fu,
I am pretty sure he was just pulling your leg....
Or maybe Eric's on a little ego-trip ;-)....??
I kinda like the creepy eyes too....
Looks like the eye have it.
The creepy eyes need to go, in my opinion. Makes the blog hard to read at work ;-)
The creepy eyes will go...
but not entirely. They'll still be around in some form. But the blog will be less ominous in this new design.
Qblog,
The new format should allow for positions to be taken, and allow individuals to "sign up" to one side or another. The frustrating part about the current Blog is a good idea can be stated, then it is "covered up" by a new entry by someone of a different opinion, often ignoring many of the important points made in the original comment. In this manner, an idea can be developed, without having to repeat the ideas over and over again, and developed to an extent a new person (or a long-term person who hasn't read all of the blog) doesn't have to "wade through" hundreds, or even thousands, of back and forth chatter to arrive at what they believe is the truth.
This is not to say to get rid of the current back and forth forums, just provide an additional section to articulate a given position.
I would be happy to provide such a point of view on the newly designed site.
Tex,
I think what you're looking for is a Forum. One already exists as part of this site and it's free to join.
Thanks,
Eric J
Eric,
The forum is exactly what I am talking about. I am using the forum (Quixtar Advocates). However, there is no place I could find that information can be accumulated to support a position without getting "covered up" by those who disagree.
Then you're confused. This is a blog. The redesign is for this blog. I am asking for suggestions for the blog redesign.
QBlog,
I am not confused. I gave you an idea to improve your site to make a positive and meaningful difference. If you don't want to use it for this purpose, that is your business, it is your blog.
Tex,
If you would like to get your point of view across without being "covered up", try building a Squidoo Lens, or writing your own blog.
Ty,
Thanks for the tip. I would like to stay here, because this site comes up right after Quixtar.com on the Google search. Perhaps QBlog is reconsidering....
Tex:
The topics and comments are part of the blog, that is what QBLOG is redesigning.
The forum is intended for in-depth, on-going discussion. That is not considered blog content, so it isn't being redesigned.
At least that's the way I understand it.
QBLOG, I hope you find my reply to be helpful and VERY CIVILIZED.
Although I am critical of your use of Mick Jones and a BADII lyric in your forum profile. The least you could do is use a Clash lyric. I AM SURE I LOSE CIVILIZED POINTS FOR THAT ONE !!!
Fu,
Thanks for your insight. The original post said QBlog was redesigning this site, so I assumed the entire site was open for discussion, and thought it would be a good idea to have additional sections available where folks could summarize their viewpoint and opinions, including supporting information to defend their position.
These additional sections could not become "covered up" by new comments, but comments could be made in the forum sections. For example, there could be a pro-Quixtar/pro-"kingpin", a pro-Quixtar/anti-"kingpin", anti-Quixtar/pro-"kingpin", and anti-Quixtar/anti-"kingpin" sections that would each have a summary and supporting information for their positions.
In this way, new people (and "old" people who don't know) could look at the summaries and get a feel for the issues, the supporting information, etc., and have an idea of what topics are being discussed prior to wading into a developed forum discussion. Over time, this would hopefully evolve into a collection of information that would reveal the truth, and make way for real and substantial changes regarding this business.
The "banter" of the forum and the comments in this section are helpful, but there is no overall structure that provides an overview of the differing positions. QBlog mentions in his February 5th post blogs are becoming more common to promote changes within corporations, I felt it would be very helpful to defend a position based on a known summary, rather than having to remind readers of base facts every time we make a new forum entry. In this manner, the discussion could be moved forward, rather than repeating the same points over and over again.
Tex,
I think you made some very valid points. One of the flaws of the forum, as far 'making a case' is concerned, is that by the time all the participants post their views, there are so many tangents that it would be hard for the newbie to make sense of it.
So, yes, it would be nice to have a place to articulate your point of view, 'make your case', so to speak..... with a short summary of the problems/issues and the supporting documentation. Of course, if somebody disagrees with it, he/she is more than welcome to create a separate post (with a link to the specific post that they are rebutting) rebutting it point by point, with their own supporting documentation.
So, what say you, Eric? What does everyone else think?
I think QBlog should check upline
Gents, perhaps you're looking for something like - www.quixtarwiki.com - which Eric set up? Hope it helps
Answering a question from September about diamonds who started after Quixtar launched. On the Winters team, not counting all Britt Worldwide and Dream Builders, these people either are new diamonds or are completing qualification the first half of this year: Fratarcangelis, Grotewalds, Francis, and I think a few more but they attend different Winters functions so I don't know.
Also, Dave and Kristin Dussault went diamond last year and they got started in 2001.
So, I hope this message gets to the right person!
I know this is kind of off-topic, but I couldn't think of any other thread to post it on.
I was watching C-SPAN the other night, and saw Massachussets Governor Mitt Romney speak at a Michigan Republican Party Dinner/Fund-raiser. Brilliant speaker, and terrific leader, I think. BUT, there he was, slipping in a few remarks about Dick Devos, in between. Now, I don't know if he was just making an implicit endorsement... Does anyone know if this thug (Dick Devos) has won the primaries? Is he the GOP nominee for Michigan? Lord help us all, if this scoundrel wins the governorship of Michigan! Next we know, he will have passed some cockamamie bill legalizing pyramid/ponzi schemes!!!
I JUST DON'T GET IT!! How is the GOP completely unaware of this scam?? How can they lend their credibility to these thieves? Or is it that the Republican Party (MY PARTY, by the way) just doesn't care about white-collar-crime?? Eric Scheibeler sends detailed documentation/evidence of fraud to GOP Senator Rick Santorum, and his response is what? DEAD SILENCE!! This, from the party that preaches honesty/integrity/values!!!
I corresponded with Eric Scheibeler quite a few times, but I guess he can't reveal much about the FBI investigation. His latest e-mail update did say that one more FBI agent was added to the investigation. Anybody know anything about where this investigation is headed?
I am sure I am not the only conservative on here..... Any conservatives out there have any ideas? I am seriously thinking about starting a letter-writing campaign. I mean, how many more people have to be hurt??
I know a lot of you might think I am a raving lunatic, but I am just frustrated!! How can we sit back and watch this atrocity of mammoth proportions continue???
camac,
The www.quixtarwiki.com site sounds interesting, but it says "Welcome to Quixtar Wiki, a collaborative repository of Quixtar information that anyone can edit." I want the ability to put down a position and let folks investigate that position, not change it as they see fit. If the position is not accurate, it will be proven wrong in the Blog area and then discounted in counter-position sources.
perceptive,
I have talked with high level folks at Quixtar about the tool abuse issue, and they have distanced themselves from this issue. Note the www.amquix.info "disclaimer" on January 24th, 2006. However, given the corporate position by Rich DeVos' "Directly Speaking" tapes in 1983 and subsequent lack of real action, you can bet the Democrats and the corporation are reading your post and have a plan to address the tool abuse issue. The democrats (and their media buddies) will probably wait until later in the campaign, to make the biggest impact, and the corporation may further distance themselves from the "kingpin" lying coward tool abuse issue. It is a calculate risk that the voter will separate the corporation from the tool abuse issue. Until then, it is up to you and me to stay in and develop tool systems far less expensive, stay in and carefully control our tool expenditures, or quit. However, in any case, the wall is crumbling.
TEX>> However, given the corporate position by Rich DeVos' "Directly Speaking" tapes in 1983 and subsequent lack of real action, you can bet the Democrats and the corporation are reading your post and have a plan to address the tool abuse issue.
The corporation has a plan to address the tool abuse issue? Don't you think they are a day late, and a buck short? As far as Democrats go, I did go to Air-America-Radio's Al-Franken page, and posted feedback there regarding Eric Scheibeler's site being under legal attack by one of the System Kingpins. Conservative as I am, I think any conservative who thinks 'Fox News' is 'Fair & Balanced', is off their rocker ;-).... Their lawsuit against Al Franken, got me reading his "Liars" book - a rollicking, ROFL ;-) read!! Conservative, or liberal, you gotta admit, that guy pricks so many holes in some conservative icons, it was laugh out loud funny. In the later paper-back version, there was an additional chapter, about the suit (again laugh-out-loud funny), and how the famed 1st Amendment Attorney, Floyd Abrams, made short work of the plaintiffs' case. So I figured this is one high-profile free-speech case that he, and democrats might be interested in. By the way, Democrats, that's your cue, you might want to visit Franken's page:
TEX>> The democrats (and their media buddies) will probably wait until later in the campaign, to make the biggest impact, and the corporation may further distance themselves from the "kingpin" lying coward tool abuse issue.
Yeah, typical politics. "We are not really interested in exposing the truth, we are just interested in exposing it only if it benefits us." How can the corporation distance itself from the Kingpins?? They have been aware about this abuse since at least 1983! Are they going to pretend, they didn't try to starve Eric Scheibeler into silence, when he sent them extensive documentation about the fraud? Nah, I think even a child would see through that.
By the way, what exactly was your correspondence with the Quixtar folks? Did you write them, or did you call them? And, how exactly did they distance themselves from the 'Kingpins'??
perceptive,
There was written correspondence from me, a followup phone call (initiated by them) and I provided an e-mail summary of the conversation, and they agreed via e-mail to the summary. I asked for permission to post the specifics on the internet, and they declined. As we are developing our own, low cost system, and will need corporate cooperation/approval, I will not discuss the specifics. Basically, they stood behind the pillar (and time will tell how much is still showing beyond the edges of the pillar as a target as time goes on) of the tools being optional, the BSMAA, and each IBO needs to make their own decisions, etc. Essentially, they made use of the existing rules.
Of course, how this intersects with the reality of the "kingpin" guidance about how they are on our side, don't trust the corporation, as we (the "kingpins") are in the field and know how to help us, etc., is a good question. Especially when they pour it on and ask whether you have ever owned your own business, and even if you have, this one is different, so do what we say, or you won't make it (cloaked in the claim that nobody has made it without their system, it is the best one out there in the entire business, by the way, they ALL say this about their systems).
However, the new disclaimers about the "success" stories in the Achieve magazine not necessarily being based on the Quixtar income are interesting. Granted, this is a small step, but it is in the right direction. I would love to be a "fly on the wall" in the discussions they are having with the "kingpins" right now.
I have no idea if this distancing has anything to do with DeVos running for Governor, but I would not be surprised. The timing is more than a little interesting.
Hopefully, it is also based on this and other web sites that are educating IBOs and prospects about what is going on with the lying cowards, the "kingpins".
Although I do not view the corporation as being angels in this whole affair, I mostly blame the "kingpins" for the mess it has been for over 2 decades. The biggest difference now is most of the volume is not in the USA/Canada, as it was in 1983, so there should be more leverage for the corporation against the "kingpins". Plus, we have the internet, which is quickly becoming the defacto method of finding information, and the information accumulates every day. Note to "kingpins" - the "tool party" is over.
Did Joecool ever put up Brad's "4% challenge" up on the Forum? I can't find it anywhere.
No, JoeCool did not (and the 4% was your addition, fu). We had e-mail correspondance and he never doubted the fact i could make money, (JoeCool admits money can be made, but we dissagree on the definition that downline has to lose money. I am still corresponding with him, because i understand his concern, but it is not the challenge.) Even so, he DID accept the challenge which requires me to say this:
I retract the statement that "NO critics will accept this challenge." clearly, one did (JoeCool). However, none of those called out by handle/name accepted it.
Once again, the reason for taking it offline, at least between the two parties, is to prove that certain individuals that post so frequently here do not have the backbone to do that. Instead they criticize the fact of taking it offline and still hide behind a blog. My e-mail address is still available through QBlog and I am not dedicating more time to this blog/forum. Let it be said here, that critics (excepting JoeCool) that claim Quixtar does not work have not come forward.
Thank you. Good luck QBlog on the redesign. I have no doubt your site will remain #2 on searches. (*and the critics rejoice "Hurray!!" *)
I think Brad will be back. He might think its a big deal that he is leaving and that we critics are all glad.
In reality Brad is one in a long line of pro MLM guys that come and go on this blog. They come in and (in)articuately state their case. When they get called to the carpet to show #s THEY RUN & HIDE.
I am not glad that Brad is leaving. I want to see my WORST INVESTMENT OPTION BEAT HIS BEST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY.
Joecool, I hope you keep us all posted on weather or not Brad can beat a 4% cd.
fu> In reality Brad is one in a long line of pro MLM guys that come and go on this blog. They come in and (in)articuately state their case. When they get called to the carpet to show #s THEY RUN & HIDE.
Brad> Fu, this is libel, and should be removed. I did not run and hide, i offered you a chance to see it. My distast of publicly posting profit/loss is merely choice but should not overshadow the FACE that i DID provide an alternative. YOU, o passionate critic, are the one who has refused to take it. YOU are the one who ran and hid.
All readers take note: This attempted accusation show's the attempt of what i see as 'the last laugh' effort put forth by critics who make their life these blogs. I expected this type of response, and returned to write this. Am i arguing my case anymore? No, it is pointless. As stated before, it comes down to perception, and choice interpretation of provided statistics and stories with complete disregard to individual effort. No one can accurately judge this business merely by reading this print. It is injustice to all the honorable, and successful/happy IBOs out there. (it has been agreed by most on this post, that the majority of IBOs are good people) THUS, it is my sincere wish that all those searching here for the TRUTH, research the history of the companies. TALK to Quixtar employees (contact info on the site) talk to Dunn & Bradstreet (purchase the corporate profile from their website) call corporate partners (Interleuken Genetics, Barnes and Noble, etc) and ask your upline for the truth behind the tool business (if your immediate sponsor does not answer it, go further upline, if they still refuse, i do suggest changing LOS to more honorable lines. Take advantage of the agreement that tools are optional and are returnable for up to 6 months). These sources are real people. When i asked FU to step out from behind his false handle, he refused. He is nothing more than someone hiding behind the anonymity provided by blogs and the internet. I have claimed in over 3 posts now that his lack of action is weak and for this last time, conclude as such.
All: Have a good week. Good luck in all endeavors. And best wishes that your efforts are fruitful and rewarding and that your life be filled for the service of others. Not filled with the destruction of others efforts or for selfish gain.
Brad> Fu, this is libel, and should be removed. I did not run and hide, i offered you a chance to see it.
NO NO NO
Brad you are attempting to defame my character, and I won't let you.
I asked you to show your #s in comparison to the average CD's ROI of 4%.
When confronted with this fact you ran.
If you don't want to show your #s that is fine. We have all come to expect that. But don't attack MY character because you are AFRAID OF THE TRUTH
I agree with Rocket...Eric should check upline.
I am surprised with the lack of responses from people who are involved in a cutting edge internet commerce venture - surely they must have some experience in this sort of thing - if they are business owners on the way to financial freedom and all?
I say you just cut and paste the Q*.com site onto here - proven success!!
If you don't like my suggestion, fine. Be that way.
For the record, Brad and I did exchange some lengthy discussion and came to an understanding. One thing Brad was unaware of was the fact that I in fact was a fairly successful IBO at one time. We came to a mutual agreement and I consider the issue settled.
I still call out SMITH, if he's willing to take a challenge.
I like the creepy glaring eyes...
