Juice Plus has hit my radar again.
date: January 5, 2005
name: Katie
message: Is Juice Plus and some water filter part of this whole corporation????
By "whole corporation" I assume Katie means Quixtar. No, Juice Plus is not part of Quixtar. Quixtar does sell an excellent water filter but I don't know if Juice Plus does.
I was first introduced to Juice Plus through some of my wife's friends at church. I know almost nothing about it though it seems to be affiliated with something called NSA.
Sites like MLM Watch take a "critical look" at the business. That's about all I know.

I think so too. I thought (although I could be wrong) that NSA became Equinox which became Trek Alliance. Bill Gould was behind the first 2, and some of his downline created Trek Alliance after Gould was barred from MLM. I'm not sure of these statements, though.
In my opinion Juice Plus+ sucks! It contains excipients that try to bind the nutrients to the blood cells. The body can absorb and use the nutrients, but there's no way for it to get rid of the excipients.
It doesn't come out as waste either, it just sits there.
NSA used to market water filters and fire extinguishers/alarms. They are a pyramid scheme, and if you don't hit your deadlines with them, you're treated like crap!
There's also some reports around that suggest that NSA and Juice Plus is not all it's claiming to be. Because there's no way to know for sure if their tests are conclusive or not. Besides which, it's NOT cheap to buy, and you can buy it on ebay for a LOT less than the brainwashed reps sell it for, and there are MUCH cheaper alternatives out there, with MORE than just 17 fruits, veggies n grains in, for a LOT less $$$!
Also, why does Juice Plus not have any information on it's labels, re: quantity and dietary/nutritional amounts?
NSA was a rip-off in the 80's, and it's a rip-off now.
Well said Wellness At Home!
My sentiments exactly!
Juice Plus is a major rip-off! And you're spot on about the excipients in it! The body cannot get rid of those even 1%, and eventually, it becomes a problem - clogging arteries and veins, intestinal tract, stomach lining and the heart muscle walls!
Juice Plus is nothing compared to other products on the market, such as Nature's Way, which has been around a LOT longer, shows ALL the nutritional information on the label, and costs a fraction of the price! Juice Plus indeed does not give nutritional information on its labels, apart from the Complete. Two years ago, I did a comparison of the JP+ Complete with Herbalife's diet shake mix and Melaleuca's Attain. Melaleuca came out on top, and the Complete came last. Not only does it lack a lot of goodness, but it smells terrible when mixed anyway!
I used to market JP+ until I found out that it was owned by NSA (National Safety Associates). Yeah, they do treat you like crap if you don't perform well. Two years ago, in my country (Japan), we had a big meeting, and my wife had not long had cancer. I had been unable to make sales targets for my 'team leader' (pfft), and after the meeting there was a big dinner. I wasn't invited! When I asked them why later, they told me it was to 'encourage' me to do better!!
Well, we did, we cancelled our orders and memberships promptly. That should have been the end of it, but NSA continued to ship us products and take money from our bank accounts! Only when we threatened to sue them did they stop and repay the money they took!
I dealt with NSA in the mid-1980's, when they were doing fire-extinguishers, and they never paid me my commissions.
Personally, I will never have anything to do with this company ever again. NSA doesn't even MAKE Juice Plus! They have it made by another company, because their reputation is so bad that Jay Martin (NSA President) fears lack of sales.
And you're right about getting it cheaper on ebay! I can get (if I wanted to take it again, which I don't) 4 months supply for around $100 ~ $140+! Compare that to the ridiculous $350 NSA charges in Japan!
One other thing I found with taking JP+ is it interfered with my sleep. What I mean is, I became reliant on it to sleep! It took me over 3 months once I stopped taking it to get a decent nights' sleep again! Friends complained about it in similar fashion too!
NSA uses a bunch of doctors to promote JP+, and they claim to have more research than any other company. Complete RUBBISH!
One of the doctors even wrote a report saying that he wouldn't reccommend JP+ because it contains too much Caretenoid (sorry, probably spelt that wrong).
Do your research folks. There are many cheaper alternatives out there, and much better too.
Personally I use Melaleuca, but I also take Nature's Way.
Did JP+ work for me? Yes, to a point. It helped with a swollen knuckle problem I'd had for a while, but that was temporary. I found I aged quicker than before - no bull! - Within 5 months of taking it, my hair became greyer, my skin became peaky and I put weight on. Since stopping, no more significant grey hair, better skin condition and my weight is more controlled.
See what works for you before you decide on any one thing long-term. But as far as I'm concerned, JP+ is all heresay and nothing more!
I have a friend who sells Juice Plus and I thought I would try it, especially after her friend approached me all worried about my health and had a look on their face like I was going to die soon and I should start this as soon as I could. Anyway, I started on it and noticed within a week that I started to get a rash, red, peeling to my skin around my scalp and my neck. I couldn't figure out what it was. I stopped taking the juice plus and in about 2-3 weeks it was gone. Well, I started on the Juice plus again and sure enough the rash was back and this time worse.
The more I read about this product and the more I learn, the more it reminds of me of a red herring...the objective is to eat more fruit and vegetables because it has been proven to be very healthy for the human body. So, instead of eating what is perfectly right for our body a scam group comes along and says they have dried vegetables and fruit and taken out the natural fiber and added a fiber different from what it was originally and then added vit C, etc etc etc and then they turn around and sell it for 300% more then the real deal and say it is all that is needed for us in a pill form and if we take it we will be forever healthy but none the richer. As I write this I feel more and more stupid to fall for this and even more stupid to fall for the peer pressure...ugh!!!!
Didn't NSA used to be a water filter pyramid seller?
