The OCS Debate
By QBlog in Quixtar
Is Quixtar an Order Consolidation Site or is it a Multi-Level Marketing business opportunity? You decide.

I'm strictly old school. I don't know anything about Order Consolidation Sites. But if you have an upline-downline, it sounds like MLM to me.
Is this really and either/or question? Could Quixtar be both?
That is my view, Scott N
It's an order consolidation system - as much as my local supermarket is.
It's just a made up phrase to make Quixtar sound more impressive than a shop and referral company - or something from another industry that's be re-used and miss-used.
Either way, I call a shop a shop.
According to the phone scripts my upline Emerald gave us, it would fit the definition of an OCS which paid people to shop there.
In fact, in the 2001 BWW basics manual, there is the full page "shopping mall analogy" which you are promoting offering an opportunity to collect on all the people shopping there. I can not recall if it is in the newer versions or not, but I can certainly check on that.
With that in mind, I think that it is both and OCS and an MLM.
Any other thoughts?
