QBlog Goes To Toronto - Day 2

By QBlog in Blog News

I'm still in Toronto on business. Here are some pictures I took today. I got to eat goat.

Toronto Street
A street near the Fashion District.

Imran
Imran took me and some colleagues to a Somalian Restaurant in Toronto where we ate roasted goat. There's Imran with his glass of Mango Juice.

Goat
Everyone liked the goat. This is the plate after we finished eating the yummy goat.

Eric and Imran
Here's a picture of Imran and me after we ate goat. The photo was taken by me back in my hotel room. Thanks Imran, for a great time. You're a wonderful and gracious host. Goat is awesome!

Wow you guys have the same facial hair. I've never had goat, but there is this tasty persian restaurant I like that serves a lot of lamb. Do they taste similar?

Oh yeah, did you run into Gordon Lightfoot? If you see him tell him I'm a big fan of "Carefree Highway"

so that's what you guys look like. funny I oidtured you guys a bit different, :p

^^^^that strange looking word is suppose to be "pictured". My hands were typing faster than my brain.

I always pictured QBlog as looking like Alec Baldwin. Now I see that it is really Jeff Bridges.

Uh, I think it's really important to point out that not every Canadian eats goat.

I've had nary a one. I hope that wasn't Imran's pet you ate.

I'm Canadian. I've eaten goat. In fact when I was a kid we used to raise them on our farm and I grew up drinking goat's milk rather than cow milk.

Qblog,

What is it with Imran and goats?

It was a Somalian restaurant rocket ;) Goat is also Northern Pakistan's dish. Cooked differently. Goat stomach is cleaned and filled with rice, roasted and eaten by.....2 ppl only. It is called "Bakra Dampukht".

We have a saying in Urdu, "What does monkey knows about taste of Ginger".

And goat is not only for eating…..an IBO can explain better.

Blotto, isn't goat milk the best? Creamy and you don't need to add sugar. Where can I get it in Toronto?

We could go to Raptors game, but our Y chromosomes kicked in and we talked and shared.....

Darn it Frankenberry. You beat me to the punch on the Gordon Lightfoot comment. Oh well. Randy Bachman ROCKS!!!

I live in California and have never eaten goat either.

Hey, since Scott N and I are familiar with the great Canadian troubador, Gordon Lightfoot, let me pose a question. What is the best Gordon Lightfoot song? Feel free to chime in there are a lot of good examples.

What is the best Gordon Lightfoot song?

The Mayor's Office has the muzak version of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on constant repeat.

Sundown came out when I was in junior high school. I loved the title track but it took awhile for the rest of the album to grow on me. Today it's one of my favorites.

Actually that was the same year that another Canadian - Joni Mitchell - released an album called "Court And Spark"

You've all left out the greatest music to ever come out of Toronto. I'm talking about Rush of course.

"There is unrest in the forrest, there is trouble with the trees..."

Oh, man. Now I have to go and throw on the live DVD from Rio. It's a must see.

Definitely "Canadian Railroad Trilogy"

Though "Song for a winter's night" is a close second.

Thinking of Canadian songs, my mind went to "Check the O.R." by "Organized Rhyme". This is simply a classic for Canadian hip-hop. Not only was Tom Green, yes that Tom Green, part of the group, but this era in Canadian Hip-Hop was marked by Maestro Fresh Wes and The Dream Warriors (of "My definition" fame - the theme song for Austin Powers - Mike Myers being another great Canadian!). Long live Canadian rap!

Hey Imran,

Maybe while qblog is visiting, you could take him to a local Q meeting and get a pic with him, you and your upline Diamond- oh that would be a cool pic!

I hope you guys are having a great time!

We have a life Michael ;)

My sponsor would have a hear attack. They're already too pissed about my blog. Now I'm with Quixtar Hating Zealots!

My upline is in New Jersey. Ever hear Ahmer Azam? Going emerald, may be he is an emerals in Gala LOS.

Oh well Imran,

One can dream can't he? LOL

OK one next best pic- you and Qblog in a pic together sporting "qblog sucks" Tshirts...

Jason

Don't worry, my mind is not for rent to any God or government. Some Rush lyrics for you. I know I said "Carefree Highway" but maybe I like "Race Among the Ruins" most. I seriously think Gordon Lightfoot might be one of the most underrated artists there is.

Oh, LawDawg, Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Good stuff, good stuff.

Ahhh, Canadians.

Is there anything we can't do?

Rocket

One of my best friends is a really beautiful girl and she married a guy whose parents are Canadian. If this wave of pro-Canadian sentiment continues we'll all be saying aboot.

Or perhaps we might learn to say the following word properly: Been.

It should rhyme with seen, not the word sin or bin.

:D

It's pronounced "ben" like the big clock in London or the guy on the $100 bill.

I don't know which looked worse, that plate of goat scraps or Imran's mug.

Imran has a face for radio, not blog pix.

Though, I have to admit, thanks to this thread, I am pulling out my Rush cds when I get home.

How about this for a themesong for us
J-O-Bers:

"They call me a working man/I guess that's what I am!"

If we are talking great music that spilled out of Toronto I have to humbly offer The Pursuit Of Happiness. Currently lurking in the where are they now file but in their time they turned out some damn great stuff. Anyone recall the opening lines to "I'm an adult now"?

Well, I don't hate my parents
I don't get drunk just to spite them
I've got my own reasons to drink now
Think I'll call my dad up and invite him

TPOH is from Toronto? I still have the 45 "I'm An Adult Now" Great song! Umm... You all remember what 45s were, don't you?

Boy, you guys know so much about songs. No idea what u r talking about.

DF, you should see my car. :D

Wow, that TPOH brings back memories.

How about the Tragically Hip. Nothing says 'Canadian rock ' like those guys....

Does roasted goat taste like chicken?

Hey Guys I found your body doubles today-

You are a lot like a liberal named Micheal Moore. After reading your lines all I could think of was I wonder what this dude looks like.

It is funny but this is how I pictured you. Now you posted your picture. WOW what a simularity. A person who claims to be an American but is only creating consuion and doubt for young people all over this great nation. You guys have a lot in common. Look I found you and Imran's Mugs. Wow there is so much simularity here.

I am glad that you guys got together finally. It was fun watching you however. Most of our assumptions are correct and it was nice to find you guys are more like a singles group that need some help even with the ladies department. You all might do good to read the top 10 relationship books on the book list just to help you find ladies. See the tools system would be good for you in that department. It is funny to watch a group of single guys that are totally obsessed and going no where in life and look the part too. It is funny to see where you all live as well. Sad to think people would listen to people living paycheck to paycheck blasting people that are at least looking to work hard and helping others with something that is possible. It is funny that people might believe a silly web site but now after the whole world gets to see you they can now tell that you are probably not to far from the school of Michael Moore ideology. You guys must be Liberal brothers. They must have a school were they teach liberals how to look. Your pictures line right up with a Double Wide down by the river in Memphis, Tennessee and has no plan to grow from there. You discredit even the Hat you wear. I guess you match Mr. Moore in that department as well since he disrespects Michigan State University by wearing there hat as well. Maybe you should move to Canada and stay there. Just think you would be able to get free medical. Thanks for posting your pictures.

Paul,

I am looking at the pictures side by side and they are very interesting. The pictures have so much in common too.

Singles group eh! Is that the best you can do?

Ok tell me, people who criticize Microsoft are broke losers?

Hazbullah, FYI is considering joining amway afghanistan. You are speaking negative about your crossline?
