Quixtar An OCS?
By QBlog in Quixtar
According to the IBOAI website Quixtar.com is simply an Order Consolodation Site (OCS).
» IBOA International - The relationship between IBOs and Quixtar
IBOs are Independent Business Owners, entrepreneurs who own and run their own businesses to achieve financial success. Quixtar.com is an OCS (Order Consolidation Site) that contracts with IBOs to provide access to products and services from which they can earn income and help other IBOs be successful, too.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't every IBO a Quixtar IBO and don't their bonus checks come from Quixtar? And aren't IBOs bound by the Business Reference Guide (pdf) and a horde of rules and regulations? Doesn't this very page on the IBOAI website violate some sort of Quixtar rule about how the business should be publicly characterized?
And if you read further, the IBOAI explains Quixtar's function thusly:
The OCS contracts with each IBO and provides:
- signed agreements with Merchant Partners and exclusive brands
- outstanding technology for the order and delivery of products and services
- administration of the IBO Compensation Plan
The IBOAI seems to be determined to diminish Quixtar's role in the lives of the IBOs. Sounds eerily similar to what Ed Postma described over 20 years ago.
I wonder if the FTC would be interested in this page from the IBOAI? I'll send them an email just to find out. I also wonder if the page will remain unchanged or if we'll see some rapid revisions after this post. Don't worry, I have source grabs and screen shots and Google will probably cache it over the weekend.
Thanks to Quixtar Team for the link

Rule 8.1:
8.1. Must Not Give False Impression: When
inviting a prospect to hear a presentation of the IBO Plan, an IBO shall neither directly nor indirectly through another IBO:
. . .
8.1.5. misrepresent the relationship between the IBO/IB and the Corporation,
8.1.6. directly or indirectly indicate that such
products are merely one line of products distributed through or as a part of a brokerage operated by a person, company, or organization other than the Corporation,
8.1.7. directly or indirectly indicate that the
the Corporation’s business, IBOs, or products and services merchandised through the Corporation are part of any business other than the Corporation, as defined in the Rules of Conduct.
I remember in the UK at our opens where the whole thing was called an Order Consolidation System using the Amivo site.
God damn, I'm still wondering why I fell for it!
Interesting....why then, can't IBOs (INDEPENDENT) business owners 'contract' through Avon, Passport, Shakely, or any other number of 'merchants' to provide the customer of said IBO with a wider variety of choice to help said IBO earn even more income, and still 'contract' with Quixtar???
because they can't do any other business venture that interferes with their "Quixtar-Powered" Independant Business.
I'm curious to know what kind of response an email regarding this will garner....
This just turns my stomach - it's SUCH a line of BS. Go ahead and break one of the "order consolidation site's" rules - and watch them come down on you like white on rice.
This also bolsters the concept that the Kingpins are either part-owners; or outright owners, of Quixtar.

Even Jody Victor avoids the "Q" word:
Since 1999, The order consolidation site's parent corporation has paid over $1 billion in bonuses and incentives to IBOs through the Independent Business Ownership Plan.
"In addition to bonuses and incentives, the OCS (order consolidation site) offers a full-service infrastructure to support your independent business," adds Victor. "This infrastructure connects IBOs with product, customer support, and business management tools."

Quixtar is not mentioned once on the page.
I guess what it took Amway 35 years to become, Quixtar managed in about 6 years.
Bad name & bad image.
The word gets out 5 times faster, thanks to the internet and I believe MSNBC.
Aren't these wonderful tiomes we're living in?
Passport associates can "contract" through Quixtar, Avon, or anyone they choose, because they really are Independent Associates. There are a few rules like don't dispay products from other companies in a manner that would confuse the branding of Passport products, etc.
According to Quixtar rules, if you sell cars and Quixtar sells cars, they can terminate you. So much for being an Independent Business Owner.
My friend (who's in Jody's group) talks about Quixtar all the time as being just the consolidation site, and Markerman being the teaching tools and that they are completely separate.
I'm suprised it took this long to get posted somewhere. Back in 1988 I recoreded this line from Ron Rummel in an open meeting. I think i quoted it about 1200 times. "We all know the cheepest place to by a lightbulb is dircetly from the factory, problem is you have to by a truckload instead of just 4 bulbs. Well, our supplier consolidates all of the orders for lightbulbs, and buys a truckload. Then they let us by our four bulbs at truckload prices." Ah that reminds me of an old Freddy Fender song, "Wasted days and Wasted nights...."
from Gordon Comstock:
"Oceania is at war with Eastasia. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia."
Vintage George Orwell!
Nice catch, mlmscam! Now if you can tell me where "Gordon Comstock" comes from, I'll really be impressed.

Bankin' It.. where are you? You've been in two years now, are you strolling the beaches of the world? How can I contact you? We need those scans of your enormous checks!
Oceania is at war with Eastasia. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
