Walking the talk on "Walk With Me"

By Not QBlog in Miscellaneous

I see that Quixtar is a corporate sponsor of the Easter Seals "Walk With Me" program, in which people in cities around the country participate in various "walk-a-thon" type events to raise money to help those with disabilities.

Easter Seals, for those who aren't familiar, is an organization that long has provided assistance to people with disabilities, along with support to their families.

According to Quixtar's online "Newsroom" the company recently won recognition from Easter Seals for its 2004 contributions, which totaled $800,000 from Quixtar and its IBOs. Clearly the company and IBOs alike have a soft spot for this particular charity. And who wouldn't, after all. It is a worthwhile cause.

Teams can sign up online to participate
Because it's Easter Seals and it's on the up-and-up, I decided to do a little more research on Walk With Me. A link from Q's Newsroom led me to the Team Quixtar page, where you can search for an event in your own community.

You can sign up for an upcoming event right there on the website. The teams and participants who've already registered in each city are listed there, along with registration deadline and route details for each event.

No teams yet for the Grand Rapids event
I didn't see a Walk listed for my community, but for fun I did a search on Michigan, which is Quixtar's home state.

The search turned up a Walk With Me event scheduled for October 1 in Grand Rapids, which is the city nearest Quixtar's headquarters in Ada. Curiously, it is not listed among the events taking place in other cities this year.

But here's something even more curious: NO teams are as yet registered to participate on behalf of Quixtar in the October 1 walk. No IBO teams. No teams from Quixtar headquarters.

Now maybe the teams haven't yet been posted to the site. Or maybe it's just too early to have signed up to participate in an event that is over two months away. I'm willing to give Quixtar the benefit of the doubt here. Surely this is something they'd promote with employees big time. With what, 900-plus people working for the company (I believe that's the number I've seen), surely Q could turn out a good-sized team. And surely they will.

I'll keep my eye on it. I just know they'll come through for such a worthwhile cause.

So how much did you donate? Have you picked a name for your team? Quixtar also had an online donation set-up for Tsunami victims. I donated to that. Perhaps I can find the link for you in case your interested. I'm sure you would agree thats a worthy cause also.

Have a good day!

Tony, do you know strawman?

Tony,

Goad was also setting up a Tsunami donation line, but the IRS said that donations to Goads is no longer tax deductable. Is the Quixtar one? I haven't looked and don't know. I know that after several MONTHS Goads FINALLY allowed Ministry Watch to know a little bit and they decided to quit lying on their website that they are tax deductable.

If you are into charity, there is one in CA I heard about once. They went around collecting money and food for hungry children. Lots of good things were done...who was that lead by, again...Oh, thats right...Jim Jones!

Amway has been a long time supporter of Easter Seals, as it is the favorite charity of Nan VanAndel. Her only daugher was born with disabilities that most parents turn for assistance to Easter Seals for.

Nan was relieved of her VP of Communications position several years ago, but prior to that, the organization was much more involved in supporting Easter Seals. While the VanAndel family is very quiet and reserved, the Easter Seals Foundation has benefitted significantly by their financial generosity and the attention they have given to it.

I heard Jay Van Andel once donated $2 Billion to a medical research facility in Michigan. Thats pretty cool.

I heard that Dex and Britt once donated $3 Billion to the Kingpin relief fund. That's pretty cool.

Tbot, feel free to throw in some facts with your hearsay now and then

I heard that Quixtar donated 4 Zillion to cloning research. Finaly the IBO shortage can be averted!

True Duplication has become a reality, Huzzah!

Actually I think Jay only donated $1 billion to the medical research center. I think I got confused with Joan Kroc who donated $2Bil to charities.

But hey, I've got some other exciting info: XS was featured at the MTV Movie Awards, and is even in a movie!! And its ranked right behind Redbull by the beverage network! What don't believe me??

Goto XSgear.com and click on XS Nation, and then "XS invades MTV" to see more pics of the MTV Movie Awards buffet, where MTV was the official energy drink.

Check out the new apparel and see the "Energy Amplified" T-shirt, the one Pauly Shore is holding up in the 2nd link.

Oh, and XS was also featured in an X-Box paintball game by pro Greg Hastings!

Nice repetition of post info there Tony. Like I said in the other topic in response, your little beverage network looks like it has a few IBO XS reviews planted in there. Look for the "!!!" and sales excitement.

Wow a whole 650 people think its great. Thats amazing! I didn't think you could advertise XS? Arn't they breaking the rules by being in a movie?...if not then why not advertise in other ways?

And Pauly Shore? LOL now thats a brilliant spokesman. XS is popping the weasel!

Just like all the shady vitamins, I'm suspicious of XS. That's literally the gut feeling. I eat so spicy Pakistani / Indian food without a problem. And XS made my tummy hurt.

Tony, what u did was straw man. Redirect from post to ur XS ad.

So what if "a few IBOs put !!! in reviews!" Like no one from Redbull put a review in! Speaking of 650 isn't alot, but how many did Redbull have? 342 if I remember correctly, ha!

Do you know what advertising is?? First of all yes, IBOs can advertise, but their are guidleines, and NO some company spot lightning XS in a movie is not advertising!

The Dicovery Channel did a whole monthlong documentary on the Quest for Nutrition, which also featured the Nutrilite company who's founder Carl Rehnborg was a pioneer in the field of nutrition and vitamins. (Nutrilite is a Qx exclusive company)

Imran, how do you even know it was XS, did you try it multiple times? Do you drink Redbull, or other carbonated drinks? I've never had, or ever heard of anyone having any adverse effects from XS - besides burping. Don't know what to tell you ?

BTW, the only spokesperson XS has ever had so far is Tom Jones, triatholon runner and Muai Thai kickboxing champion:

Tony,
When posts meander off topic in a natural way, I don't mind, really I don't. And I don't think Q Blog cares either.

But this was a really blatant and abrubt departure from the subject at hand.

Again, please feel free to go the forum and start your own thread. There are plenty of people there who'll debate the merits of XS with you.

Here, I'm respectfully asking you stay on topic with your comments.

Thanks for reading and commenting so regularly!

Responding to Not QBlog's original post, the Easter Seals web site has a "contact us" hyperlink. Depending on how interested the other readers are, you might try contacting Easter Seals directly and see what they have to say. (From the original post, it's unclear if Easter Seals had been contacted.)

Not QBlog> But this was a really blatant and abrupt departure from the subject at hand.

Imran> Yes Tony, and you pasted ur ad in two posts, not in one. I’m getting fired up man. That’ll make sure I buy one XS. Paste same ad in some other post too and I’ll even pee XS. Talk about residual.

I'm glad u r improving. From the IBO you pulled ur self up to spammer. Next stop: credit collector, then vulture(media / press), then lawyer, then pig (cop), then telemarketing, then door to door sales person, Then insurance agent, then back to a good person.

Sorry I missed weasels (government workers). They come right after pigs (cops).

Seriously,

I just had to put a note for all of you that have only time to put crap on a blog. Hey here's a thought. Say something nice to the next person you meet. All of your negative comments are typical to those who have an opinion. Heres another thought. Go do something nice for someone and if you dont like something then support what you do like. The world is full of enough negative losers and doesnt need any additional ones.

Typical pro Quixtar person trying to use "postive mental attitude" doublespeak to quench the free exchange of information.

Won't work, the truth is out. This time the revolution will be blogged.

This is classic, you gotta re-read IBO (?) Todd's comment:

"All of your negative comments are typical to those who have an opinion."

Typical to those who have an opinion? What does this mean? I'm interpretting it "of those who have an opinion, the opinion is typically negative."

Huh. Wonder why that is?

The only people with a positive opinion about Q are the ones who are in it.

PERIOD! PERIOD! PERIOD!

Easter Seals may very well be a noble cause. The mere action of contributing to it doesn't instantly make the contributor noble.

BTW, Why is it that because the VanAnals think Easter Seals are important, everybody else in Quixtar seems to? It's your own business right? As a business owner, I'll pick my own charities.

What a bunch of sheep.

BTW TonyBot

When you talk about what you donate to, in my opinion, it doesn't qualify as charity anymore.

It's called tact, Tonybot. If you have to talk about what you donate to, then it's not really been done for the right reasons, IMHO.

That's my perspective anyway.

If I hadn't spent all that money on tools at the major functions I could have gave more at the major functions to Easter Seals when they passed the buckets around for money!

TODD> Say something nice to the next person you meet.

Imran> Hey next person. Please don't join Quixtar. It's a scam. You are a great person, I'll like you even if you are not a diamond or financially free etc. etc. I'll respect your shopping habits and evenings you spend with your family. In fact I laud you for that.

How about that?

Rocket> When you talk about what you donate to, in my opinion, it doesn't qualify as charity anymore.

Imran> Bingo. Only crap weasels spout abut their donations. They obviously have to gain some thing from such shameless show off. It’s a business expense then, not a donation.

I don't know about Christianity, but rules concerning donation in Islam are do it secretly.

Excuse me? I felt strongly enough about the tsunami victims to donate. I didn't say how much I donated, so I think I did use tact.

NQB was being pretty underhanded by his post saying that no IBOs had yet donated or signen up for the Easter Seals walk (even though its months away). So I see no problem stating that Quixtar also set up a tsunami donation, and that I personlly Did donated to it.

I Don't usually state my donations to charities, but when some @sshole is gonna try to make me and fellow IBOs look bad, I'm gonna mention that I have donated without gloating an exact amount.

Don't worry Tony, you make yourself look bad on your own. Or maybe you should edify your upline and thank them for doing it.

Tony, what are you 8 years old?

My point was pretty clear, and tough to defend against, yet you try.

You are truly a doofus who has been blinded by the system.

Those rejects tell everyone on stage that donate to such and such and get a nice standing ovation for it, so I guess you come by it quite naturally.

Has anyone you've approached about this "opportunity" just laughed in your face?

Because I sure would. You must be pretty desparate if this is all you've got in order to succeed in life.

Don't believe everything you're being told my friend. You are being lied to. Remember, omission of pertinent facts is lying.

Nope i'm late 20's.

I haven't been blinded by poop.

Who do you care who i donate to? If we take a collection for a certain ministry, yea, I donate - because I always agree with the cause. If I ever didn't, then I sure wouldn't donate. But I also donate to my HS, and college, and other organizations of my chaoosing. So don't try to to act like I'm brainwashed and doing whatever the Diamonds say.

No, NO ONE has ever laughed at me when I offer this opportunity to them! Cause I don't offer it to low-life scum. Sharp, intelligent people, will keep an open mind and take a look at it, and are civil when they pass on it. Its always the lazy bums that no-show you, or never return your tools.

Who said this was all I had to succeed in life? I work for a Fortune 10 company and make over 50 G's a year. I also teach my own TKD school. See I have multiple streams of income.

I know more than you think - and don't forget, you were lied to yourself. But you'll figure it out in 20-30 years.

"He called the sh1t POOP!!" haha

what movie's That from?

Well, I guess you can't really count donations to your high school as charity now, can you?

I mean since you tell people about it.

True charity is anonymous, and people don't hear about it from the doner.

I like your line about how intelligent people will keep an open mind about your (haha) business.

Intelligent people will choose not to waste their time talking about it.

Wrong again, and four days late to boot!
