Ken McDonald To Retire?

By QBlog in Quixtar

UPDATE - Several Quixtar-run blogs have confirmed that Ken McDonald is retiring in less than two weeks. Quixtatic reports that "Ken McDonald announced his retirement yesterday, effective May 1." And Quixtar and Beyond provides the full text of McDonald's retirement announcement followed by this statement:

I was asked not to run this yesterday as Ken wanted to personally talk to as many IBOs before any announcement went public and I certainly wanted to repect that, as Ken is a man that has always deserved respect. Never demanded it but always deserved it.

Right. So I wonder how many IBOs he thanked yesterday. Anyway, there's something about this whole "retirement" that seems mighty suspicious to me. Why all the hush-hush? Why so sudden? Why do I really care? Good question.

By the way, Quixtar has a really cool "newsroom" site that "reports" the latest Quixtar News. Check out the Quixtar Newsroom to read all the latest Quixtar news.

This Reader Mail just in:

name: Anonymous
date: April 20, 2005

message: Ken McDonald announced his retirement today. He'll be retiring sometime the beginning of May. No successor has been announced yet, but I'm sure the Quixtar conclave will be appointing a successor soon.

Conclave! That's funny. I just heard that word when describing the recent Papal election. I wonder if a possible religious allusion was intentional? Ok, maybe it's not that funny but I chuckled.

Anyway, let the speculation begin. Is "Anonymous" blowing smoke up my backside or is there some truth to this rumor? My sources either know nothing or aren't talking. If it's true, what does it mean? If it's not true, then "Anonymous" is probably just trying to spread rumors and I'm sort of helping out in that department. Oh well, it's fun to think about nonetheless.

I just thought of a joke. Perhaps Ken is leaving Quixtar because he took this "Never Accept Ordinary" thing a bit too literally. Get it? He Never Accepts Ordinary so he's... leaving... Quixtar... nevermind.

One last thing, the beginning of May is like two weeks away. That's pretty short notice for a "retirement" don't you think? Quixtar's Managing Director just says "hey gang, I'm retiring in a couple of weeks. Surprise!" Maybe that's how things work in Ada, I don't know. It's never been like that at any place I've worked. Whenever someone retired it was known months, even years in advance. This just seems... well... very sudden.

Of course this could have been planned months in advance and we're just now learning about it (if it's even true) so there's that to consider. If you are "in the know" and are able to confirm or deny this rumor about McDonald's retirement please step forward and help us out here. Thanks in advance.

There's nothing in today's Grand Rapids Press (admittedly, my boondocks version is a day late). But I doubt they'd mention it anyway, publicly?? Amway is taking a bunch of heat at the moment for receiving an almost-6-million dollar grant/gift/loan with which to build their new hotel; and the other local hotel owners are upset.

That's huge news. Quixtar was Ken's baby according to Bo Short's web site formerdiamond.com. It's likely that he was expecting explosive growth in North America from Quixtar and promised it to the company, and when it didn't happen he lost face and was asked to retire. A less likely but still possible explanation is that his conscience finally put up a strong enough protest to the kingpins' tool abuses to force him to call it quits.

I just want to ask the person responsible for this site. Why is Quixtar being battered in such a way? I really want to know. Why aren't you mad at retail in general. Think about it... If this is such a pyramid sheme what do you call CEO's earning billions in retal franchises across the country, while those below them make pennies. Sounds like a pyramid to me. And another thing, what's so wrong trying to make a living from something corporations don't want you to, and that's buy merchandise wholesale, sell them and earn credit for it. Who are you really fighting for. Them or us. If you call being associated to something against these big compaines treating their employees like slaves, while trying to help those who want to be financial free: a cult, THEN SIGN ME UP!

Read more and you'll figure out that the criticism against Quixtar is not against the business model, but for their full support of the kingpins who secretly make 80% and more of their income off the system tapes and functions they promote. Quixtar has known about this for over thirty years and has done nothing about the abuse. That is why they are guilty; they are actively aiding the kingpins in the fraud.

Cheers

Christian,

Nice tapespeak. Do you have anything original to offer the conversation?

Seriously.

Christian,

I'm not mad at Corporate America today. I am getting the biggest quarterly bonus check I have ever gotten. It is bigger then the ANNUAL bonus I got as recently as three years ago under my company's old system.

So yeah, I'm a wage slave and my boss makes more than me and I'll be broke when I retire yada yada yada. I gotta run - it's time to go fight the pigeons for some food.

What What What? Christian, me thinks you need to step away from the XS. A little too excited there cowboy. If it's any consolation, I hate everything equally. Feel better?

What an ODD place to complain about Quixtar being "battered." This is a Comments section to a blog that, in this edition, announced the retirement of Ken McDonald. There's no "battering" in making such an announcement or commenting on it.

If Christian wanted to complain about the "battering" of Quixtar on this blog, why didn't he look for an entry that at least gave the appearance of being critical of Quixtar?

For some, there's nothing you can say about Quixtar that isn't negative, even when it isn't.

Looks to me like someone's got a complex about his business...

They don't read the posts. They just comment. Go look at what I just posted on my blog, about an IBO who just commented, without reading anything, obviously. I couldn't resist just slamming him. I bet it was Christian, making the rounds, making stuipid comments.

Well Dad, if he's making the rounds, he hasn't shown up at my site yet, and I've spent a week critisizing the Systems.

I guess he'll say I'm one of those fake pro sites like Qrush used to say.

Too much...to comprehend...retiring FROM quixtar? I don't get it? Where's the joy, happiness, and most of all, FREEDOM that everone feels as they RETIRE? Is Ken going to ceremonially crush an alarm clock with a sledge hammer, now that he's "retired"? Will he interrupt an IBOA meeting and hand them all a copy of "How to Win Friends" to everyone present? Could it be (I know that this is really "out there" and extremely far fetched; please bear with me. ) that all this time Ken was working a "J-O-B"???
