Amway eBay Quixtar
By QBlog in
What happens when a global corporation listens to its customers, its critics and its competitors and develops communities that embrace new ideas and critical feedback? Well, you end up with eBay. EBay continues to build its online empire, in part, by providing forums for millions of members to openly discuss a variety of topics while developing a sense of community and tapping into a larger knowledge base than they could ever offer internally. Businesses around the world are adopting this philosophy about information and feedback.
However, Quixtar is walking in the other direction. Why is that? And what could Quixtar be if it became more like eBay and less like Amway?
Comments
It's kind of sad that something that started with a neat idea (back in the fifties) has turned out so poorly. Amquix has degenerated so much from its original ideals that it is probably beyond saving.
Asking "what if Quixtar became more like Ebay?" is about as realistic as me asking "what if I became more like Brad Pitt?".
It is quite apparent now that the founding families are unwilling to take the financial hit that would result from ousting the tool kingpins.
As well, it is also unlikely the founding families would be unwilling to do one of
a) lower prices
or
b) put more $ in the plan
This posts says a lot. Quixtar is not willing to embrace the new trends and technologies and insisting on their old outfashoined, secretive, cultish, submission-to-upline ways. And why is that? Why they are not open?
These dark tactics is how they make $. Open conversation will help many brainwash peeps realize the truth, and how much they are being lied. If Quixtar can work without lies, they won't. If Quixtar can work without cultish methods, they will. But they can't.

Extinct
Community: 1. All the persons who live in one place, as the people of a town; hence, the public; 2. a group of persons, bound by ties of religion or of common interest; as a community of artists; 3. likeness; similarity; as, community of interests
Cult: 1. A particular system of worship; 2. Devotion to a person; idea, theory or the like; as the nudist cult 3. the group of people so devoted; also, the object of their devotion.
I will ask, which is a better way to run a business?
Obviously community is a better definition of how a business relationship in a REAL business is, and a good way to approach business in general and business associates. Come across as too "cultish" and it chases clients and or customers away.
Which definition best describes Amway/Quixtar?
I'll give you a hint, it ain't community.
Maybe the plan should focus more on moving product then. That means the lifestyle depicted by the plan and diamonds is almost impossible to achieve.
Not so good for recruiting, but at least its real.
Wow again you guys seem to refer quixtar as a "Cult" and you want them to become more like Ebay- which is a community. If you look up the word community it's pretty much the same meaning as Cult.
Community-A group of people having common interests. Cult- a group of people having a common belief.
There is a flaw in your plan to wanting quixtar to A) lower Prices, or B) put more money in the plan. If they were to lower prices, How could you have more money in the plan? One way to put more money in the plan- create more volume. Easy enough I think.
I think Micheal (Scott Micheal?) misread my post. I suggested that the corp do ONE of
a) lower prices
-OR-
b) put more $ in the plan.
Doing BOTH would indeed be quite a trick.
(And how much more volume does the corp need?? Admittedly, North American sales are very sluggish, but Quixtar is going like gang busters in places like Korea and China. They should be able to create some decent economies of scale already.)
NO I am not Scott Michael, I am Michael. You can read my blog at plucks.blogspot.com Thanks.
It's funny to hear your ideas, or "perceptions" of Quixtar...I can't help but laugh!!
You say, "oh, they aren't going to make it", etc, and yet Quixtar became (took over) the #2 spot for internet sales in the world as of last month.
Cutting costs and putting more money into the plan explains out-right the misunderstanding of this business.
If we weren't all intitled to our own opinion, this site wouldn't be here, but please understand "opinion" is not FACT.
The hush-hush is a bunch of crap...I have access to my Diamond anytime I want, and he has been quite fwd with me on several matters concerning some of the negative I see here, and many other issues.
I just found out last week that one of the Diamonds in our group is on this site!
We have an unusual situation in the fact that 5 people have passed an emerald and all went Diamond over a period of time, which has been said here many times, "That can't happen", well gues what.....The negative people here are making themselves look dumber and dumber!!!!!
I think the kingpins fear the loss of power that will accompany more knowledge shared by all.
They're too used to having their own little private dictatorships, and as a result, are still trying to stop the flow of info.
People have access to almost anything they want now, and this scares the little Napoleons.
I wish I felt even a little bad for them, but I don't.
