Let's Keep Secrets

I've just learned (via PACER) about a stunning development in the TOD vs. Larsen lawsuit (TOD is now TEAM). Both parties in the suit have seemingly agreed to a protective order thing preventing anyone from discussing the details of the case (pdf copy). There are a couple of items in this agreement that interest me:
- Everyone has agreed to be present at the November 22, 2004 mediation. This includes Larsen, Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady.
- They've all agreed to keep everything about the mediation process confidential. This is a blanket agreement that would seem to cover anything discussed.
- Larsen has agreed (as of October 26, 2004) that he won't post any entries on the Internet critical of Plaintiff (Team of Destiny) or its members.
It's that last one that really concerns me and makes me think that maybe Larsen is going to lose this case. Why would anyone agree to just shut up like that? The very last thing I'd ever want to agree to is silence on any issue. It's a free speech thing.
Think about this hypothetically for one second. What if we learn tomorrow morning that Orrin Woodward is illegally running guns up from Mexico and selling them to his downline. This is obviously not true but we're thinking hypothetically here. Now, according to this agreement, Larsen is prohibited from saying ANYTHING critical of that hypothetical gunrunning. That's just stupid in my opinion. Now, I'm not Larsen and I don't know all the details of his situation but this sure looks like the same silence that we see in virtually every other Quixtar-related lawsuit. And the real puzzler here is that Larsen isn't even bound by arbitration (the BSMAA).
So why is Larsen being silent now? No idea. I haven't talked to Larsen about this and it looks like he couldn't say anything about it if I did. All I know is that I have a gut feeling that this is bad news for Larsen and good news for Orrin Woodward and Team of Destiny (or TEAM or whatever they're called now).

I don't like using the term Nazi to describe anyone, even Orrin and TOD/TEAM. Whatever they may be, they ain't Nazis.

Sounds like a typical legal action to me: A major lawsuit is threatened, and both sides have decided to go to mediation to settle things. Larson because of possible high costs of hiring lawyers, "TEAM" because they don't want the threat of publicity that may come about.
Maybe Larsen does have a price, but remember: peace of mind is very important. It was probably that which caused Sidney Schwartz to finally shut down his (now well mirrored) site, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the same happen to Larsen. I've seen sites removed by the mere threat of a lawsuit, so don't discount it.

For everyone's information, the court ordered mediation. It is voluntary only in the sense that we don't have to come to a resolution in mediation.
My attorney explained that most all mediations have a protective order placed on them. That is so that both parties can speak freely and not be afraid that it will be used against them if the case is not settled in mediation. I did not want the protective order but I really had no choice in that either.
Give me a break! Corporations protect themselves in the courts when they think they need to. If they are in the wrong they lose. If they are right, they win.
This little guy vs. city hall mentality you guys have is silly and shows that you hate it when corporations want to protect their futures.
Better not pick on too many of these corporations, guys. Make them all go away and you stop getting your government cheese.

How exactly do you know "what?" that ppl who criticizes any thing depends on government cheese?
No one criticized any corporation just for the sake of criticizing. In case of TOD / AQMOs many witnessed and suffered a lot of deception and fraud. And now they don't even have a right to expose this and prevent?
This case is not about right and wrong. This is all about silencing the critics, just like so many cases of Amway / Quixtar. The way they abuses American legal system to shut down the criticism is appalling.

I think you guys need to get a life. You just want everyone to succeed, just not past you. Why don't you all just worry more about yourself and serving other people than about what the other guy is doing with their life?
I don't know why I'm wasting my time... it's just plain impossible to fix stupid people. Laugh but you'd better listen... TEAM is quickly on it's way to becoming the #1 corporation in the WORLD! Orrin and Chris are two of the most honest, genuine, down-to-earth guys from our time! They've helped thousands, upon thousands, upon THOUSANDS of people and are making history while we speak... what are you doing that's so inspiring, Mr.Blog...? Building a website that any 12 year old could build? Either jump on the trend or deliver products to our doors. Never mind... TEAM requires those with integrity and you're probably not qualified. We do need negative though, thanks, we must be doing something RIGHT.
I would like to thank the TEAM and most of all our leaders for changing my family's life and so many lives of others! YOU'RE AWESOME!

Isn't it ironic we get to hear that at Veterans Day? Our (ok yours) fore fathers fought for our freedom? Now Nazis like Quixtar and TOD / TEAM / Orrin attacked again?
