IBO Porn

By QBlog in

Michael Broderick is an IBO with a blog. David Robison recommended the blog to me and it's a great read, definitely NOT the typical PR pabulum you find on most Quixtar-run blogs. No, this blog is different and genuine. A guy with something to say and he's found a way to say it (blogging). While the blog is new, it looks promising so I recommend keeping an eye on Broderick's blog.

So, about the porn. His "Addiction to porn?" post begins

I am a huge fan of porn, but its NOT heroin. Porn I can turn off and be satisfied for a few days, heroin your hooked on for life.
He's got a point. What's refreshing is that Broderick doesn't fit snugly into your typical IBO stereotypes. He loves XS Energy Drinks in his Margaritas (not the virgin kind mind you). Hunts deer and spends a lot of time on the Web. He calls himself the "Cliff Clavin of the Internet" and I imagine I'd like to sit next to him at the Cheers bar, sipping a brew and learning useless trivia. So, check out the blog and see that IBOs can act like real people on the Web. I wouldn't have believed it either if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

Howdy Qblog,

Thanks for telling people about Mikey.

I gotta add that Mikey is quite an enigma.

He's a "system" IBO and defends it adamantly, i.e. he sees benefits in the "tools", and he hangs out with his Diamond on a regular basis, but given the choice between a "meeting" and a nite out, he'll probably move heaven and earth to do both.

I've known him online over a year, and he STILL surprises me.

anyway, thanks....I have to go rewind my Kay Parker movie now.

Kay Parker!!!!

David, that must be one old tape!

Hell yeah, it's old! But YOU remembered it!

I really appreciate the positive feedback about my blog. It makes me all the more nervous now that the big dogs are reading :-). Hey the keys to success in quixtar or any mlm is the meeting after the meeting- All the better if she's a tall beautiful women in a skimpy bikini or naked right? Thanks

In youth, the idea of xxx sounds great. You are new to these feelings, and the curiosity is at an all time high. Then you grow up and get married.

Then the addiction to xxx can become serious. It can cause you to not be satisfied because your spouse is not the xxx star you desire. This lack of satisfaction can hurt a marriage.

I don't believe that most people are helping their spouse by watching xxx behind their back. Then on top of that there is the morality issue.

Imagine if the next time you jumped on your favorite xxx site you saw your 18 year old daughter there...

Now realize that there is another father out there just like you who probably doesn't know his daughter is the one you are watching. This is very very sad.

And someone who is purchasing/renting/subscribing to this stuff is supporting that.

The critics talk about how they wouldn't want to support what they call the "monster" meaning the biz/tools, So I hope they wouldn't be hypocrates and support the "xxx monster" and the people that industry represents. Some of the most dirty, filthy, sleezy people out their in my opinion.

Chris,

I think you are overreacting. What do you base your "dirty, filthy, sleazy people" opinion upon? Do you know anyone in the xxx industry?

The reason xxx is so prevalent in our country is because we are so morally repressed compared to many other countries. There is no outlet for a basic human instinct other than p-o-r-n. Therefore, it is profitable and people will capitalize on it. That doesn't make them sleazy. It makes them entrepaneurs because they see a need and they fill it.

I have been to a strip club a few times in my life to either give or receive a bachelor party. The girls in those clubs are there to make money, not because they are deranged or filthy. They can knock down $2000 a week. There are not many jobs that pay a 22 year old woman that well.

I'm not trying to change your mind Chris, I just wanted to offer a different perspective. P-o-r-n is a business and it sells well based on the climate we live in. I can assure you that I am a decent person even though I have rented Edward Penishands and I got a stage dance at my bachelor party.

Well, Chris, we have finally found common ground.

p0rn is dehumanizing, and not just to women. It encourages the men who are either perusing or addicted to continually give in to their baser 'instincts', as though they are rutting dogs with no control over their...apparatus.

Saw a documenntary on dateline or 20/20, following a 'p0rn star', and it was so horribly sad. SHE was so horribly sad, as she defended her 'career', then would break down into tears and rages.

I'm wondering what LOS Mr. Broderick is in. Don't they usually condemn such things loudly and often?

OTOH, I hear Dexter has all that recording equipment going unused, maybe he can find a way to make a few bucks bootlegging p0rn? Sure would be consistent with the rest of the 'integrity' preached but not practiced.

note: Had to use a "0" in p0rn, cause the server won't accept it spelled correctly.

I had to use "XXX" and "p-o-r-n" in my posts because the comment filter wouldn't let me spell the p-word. I assume you got the same thing too Chris.

Brings new definition to the phrase "tool business" doesn't it?

Just think Chris, your business associates are being trained to edify this p*rno-hack.
What a great system! What integrity!

From my understanding...a few people get rich in doing p0rn, many don't. those that get rich sometimes cross over into other "accepted" entertainment and yet many fail. Some even go broke. Most of the money is not made by the average performers but by the people distributing the films.... but there are a few "big names" who get paid.

parallels are interesting huh?

but the difference is most p0rn users go looking for it and happily get some use (and enjoyment) out of it.

hey do a keyword search on wordtracker.com and tell me which word always comes up in the number one spot for the most searched for keyword on the internet... P0RN thats right. I didn't mean for my blog to become a p0rn issue, LOL. My los would tell me, "oh god, your demented on the internet too?" I'm just your average IBO who likes to keep it real. Heck I get yelled at cause I don't always wear suits to meetings. Thanks guys.

Chris, I agree with with you wholeheartedly. Every word.

I have two daughters and it breaks my heart to think about your example.

Take care.

P0rn is a manifestation of capitalism: supply and demand. If people want to trumpet the benefits of free enterprise, they can't complain when that system produces a disco soundtrack and Ron Jeremy. End of story.

It appeals to a very basic human drive, but one could argue boxing does the same thing. I'd hold (personal opinion here) that boxing manipulates those at the lower end of the end of the economic spectrum to beat the snot out of each other for the entertainment of those at the upper end. (cf. Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man). Who makes more money, anyway...Mike Tyson or Don King? A p0rn star or the director of the p0rn studio?

Welcome to the free enterprise that everyone loves so much.

Chris,

The only one I see publicly "supporting" the pr0n industry is your IBO brother. What's that got to do with Quixtar critics?

QBlog wrote: "What's that got to do with Quixtar critics?"

Well, I think we would all agree that whether we agree on the xxx issue or not, that it is very popular in America today. Both critics, and IBO's alike will have their fair share of supporters and condemners.

I just wanted to voice my opinion and see how others felt as well. Isn't that why the comments are open? And isn't that why so many voiced their opinion. This was in no way meant to be an attack on Michael, or on any critics. Just perspective.

I don't know many men who haven't at one time or another in their life viewed xxx intentionally.

Waymee wrote: "What do you base your "dirty, filthy, sleazy people" opinion upon? Do you know anyone in the xxx industry?"

In school, a friend and myself did a report on the xxx industry from a marketing angle. It has been a while, and maybe the industry has changed, but I have drawn my conclusions from research.

I also know some people involved in the industry.

Male xxxstars make much more than female xxxstars and the women are usually treated very unfairly and degraded.

Many times the women accept contracts that involve no residuals off of the distribution, but the men are much more likely to set these deals up.

Good old fashioned xxx is not common these days, and the degrading of women is what has become industry standard, and for someone to make their money from degrading a female is not something that I respect.

People are not searching the internet for playboy pictures, but instead they are trying to get free previews of xxx videos, and the content on those videos is not clean fun. It has become a completely different industry, and it is very very sad. It is adding to the destruction of morality in our country.

"I also know some people involved in the industry."

You are sounding more and more impressive, Chris.

"Male xxxstars make much more than female xxxstars and the women are usually treated very unfairly and degraded."

I've heard just the opposite on the exposes presented on HBO and VH1.

Again, like almost everything else, I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Again like almost everything, there will be contradictions and people who see things differently. I have done research and reported, and it was in the past, and I don't care if you agree or disagree. I just offered perspective.

Even if it was the other way around, that wouldn't make it a better industry. I am seeing things from a morality standpoint, and from values I hold.

"Know some" or 'know of some' ?

I know of some, mainly the few that have gone over to mainstream. (Ron Jeremy - an almost household name in p0rn, one of the only male names. Traci Lords, having done "real acting" as well as being known for the scam she pulled on the industry. and probably a dozen or so female names of female stars... Jenna Jameson & Amber Lynn being the more famous to my current dreamgirl of Velvet Rose)

The assumption that all p0rn is degrading to women, (I admit there are some out there) is like saying any film that shows acted death encourages people to make snuff films.
But just as some p0rn is simply role-playing for personal gratification, there are simply some freaky things out there as well. Every fetish in the world has a magazine and website. But unless you have a demand for it, it goes away.
True there are popups and advertisements, and magazine ads... but if you don't go there, does it affect you?
As for personal involvement of "it's somebody's daughter"... that's a cop-out used by the "rightious" to make others see their view as right. If it is your daughter, deal with it however you want. If it is my daughter (and I have one) I'll deal with it the way I need too.
That's the same philosophy that says cigarettes start fires, and they should be "fire-safe" not the smoker, that a drunk driver is not to blame but you should sue the carmaker, the bartender, the drinkmaker... oh wait, people agree that is stupid (except for suing the bartender/server) but yet if someone is shot you sue the gun maker. If someone is bludgened with a hammer woould you sue Sears? No, it's mis-use of a tool.
The p0rn industry is supply and demand. At some point you decide to become part of the supply (either amateur or professionally), you make that choice. Where it goes from there, good or bad, is more in your own control than anyone else's.
Concern for someone who was abused by the system is admirable, but your condemnation has to start with something.

Like Quixtar... I was content to let them go their own way, until they affected my life again.

I don't "know some" people in the p0rn industry or any personal abuses they may have endured, I "know of" success and failure stories. P0rnstars that made buttloads (no pun intended) of money, and others that didn't. But I think in most cases when you go from making money being an "actor" (be it p0rn or hollywood), to making money "behind the scenes" (direct/produce/write/etc) you let people know about it.

I do "know" people in the Amway/Quixtar "business" and have experienced if from inside. that's where my condemnation of the Axis Of Evil (various BSM LOS') and their MoToFoBOs starts.

Peace, good luck, and don't forget family.

So, I was watching this movie the other night....and this guy was doing this business presentation on a whiteboard.

In the room, was this beautiful woman listening intently to his "talk".

Suddenly she stands up from the couch, and seductively walks towards the speaker, as she approaches him, she begins to unbutton her blouse...

(music intro)
bom..chicka bom bom..chicka bom bom

She begins to draw her own circles with her fingers...and...and...

Oh well, you guys continue the debate.

: D

David Robinson, where do I sign up?

And every body else, p0rn is BAD. And all the other bad words => p0rn.

So where does one draw the line with supply/demand and morality? Obviously I am a supporter of free enterprise, but I also believe in limits and censorship to a certain extent.

I am not out to stop the p0rn industry. This is not my calling. I simply believe that it is adding to the degrading of women in society and am not a supporter of it.

Chris,

I respect and agree with your refusal of p0rn as degrading of women. But, not all of it is. And if we ask that question, we really have to do the college thing and ask "what is p0rnography, really?"

So where does one draw the line with supply/demand and morality? One can't. Supply and demand is inherently amoral. And yet it's very democratic, in that a dollar is a vote and enough people with enough votes can influence the market. Take for example publishing. We all SHOULD be reading Dostoyesvsky and The Federalist Papers, but...have you seen the New York Times bestseller list lately? Yet, the big heavy classics are still in print and available at Borders because publishers and booksellers have done the math and know enough people will buy them to justify putting them on valuable shelfspace.

david R,

Isn't that how most P0rn films are? in an ofice somewhere, late at night, strung out over the boss's desk. Oh wait- maybe thats chris's desk... Sorry chris-had to take a shot. Ok I'll agree, some of the p0rn films that are done really cheesy are degrading to women. You know the ones with the elevator music? Chris, next time you come to minneapolis I'll take you to my gentleman's club and let you spark this debate there- I can guarantee you some of the women would challenge you.

off the subject here a little bit-

Any of you that drink XS cherry blast should take a can of it to 7/11, get a small 12 oz cherry slushy and dump the XS cherry blast into it- you want a wakeup call, HOLYCRAP. Thanks for talking about my blog like this.
Mikey

classic definition of p()rnography:

"I'll know it when i see it."

or the other classic...

"What the judge watches and says you can't."

Funny quote for the day-

My buddy says to me he's got a photographic mind- I replied- thats cool cause I have a p0rn0graphic mind!
