End The Confusion
By QBlog in
For the sake of the children, please - let's end the confusion.
A couple of days ago I observed that the new Quixtar Web site improved the shopping experience for non-IBOs. The post was based on my personal recollection of the old Quixtar.com site and the frustrating experience I had while trying to order products without a referring IBO number.
But now, I'm questioning the accuracy of my recollection. Some IBOs have told me that one has always been able to shop from Quixtar.com without a referring IBO number. Yet other IBOs remember things a bit differently. They remember that yes, you could shop without a number, but you had to actually call Quixtar to get a random IBO number or submit a request for some IBO to contact you first. Such obstacles do not equate "e-commerce" in my book.
But I'm still unsure. Nobody seems sure. I called Quixtar Customer Support and they told me to call tech support, which had just left for the day. So I guess I'll wait until tomorrow. Or perhaps you can help?
Do you remember having problems ordering products from the old version of Quixtar.com without a referring IBO number? Did you have to make a phone call to order products online? Did you have to wait for someone to email you some information? Or was the process exactly the way it is now, as easy as ordering from Amazon.com or eBay?
Important: I don't care about PV/BV. Apparently PV on non-referral purchases is randomly assigned to Platinum (and above) IBOs in the customer's area, as has always been done. Great. I'm not interested in who gets the PV. I just want to know if the ordering process has been simplified (as I believe) or if it's always been this simple and my memory is failing. Thanks.

What failing memory issues... hey... what is this in my mouth? There's food in my mouth! Ewwww.
(homage to the Tom Hanks SNL sketch "Mr. Short-Term Memory)

And why would Customer Service help you and not me?
I guess I've got good negotiation skills. Always have. Or maybe I just got through to someone that wasn't a temp :)
What? I tried a lot but NO ONE could order any thing from website WITHOUT REFERRAL.
One could signup as an IBO and nearest platinum would be your sponsor, but NOT CLIENT.
This was of course Q Canada.
Imagine a company that doesn't need random hits on the internet to do millions of dollars in bussiness. Imagine a company that rewards you for shifting your shopping to the virtual world and rewards only those that do so. You would have to redefine your Idea about what e commerce is yes, and how it could and does work here.
Thanks for adding to the confusion Terry. Thanks for not answering the questions. So Quixtar is e-commerce. Great. That wasn't the question.
Imagine a world where fish can fly.
Yes, the easier of the two questions, is that you need an IBO number. You wandered into some good territory with the the question about e commerce but if all you want to know is how to shop online with quixtar than ok, you need an IBO number or more accurately an IBO to set you up with an account. I didn't mean to offend you, I thought we might have a good conversation. Take care.
Imagine a world where IBOs can write a complete sentence without any misspellings...
Imagine a world where IBOs can present a coherent thought without a condescending attitude....
Qblog--during Amway days, there was definitely no way to buy without a distributor. If you called the company they absolutely refused and referred to PSDD's (old term).
I do recall asking the question when Quixtar 1.0 started and was told that the same policy was in effect. I don't know for sure that it stayed that way though.
Not offended in the least Terry. Thanks for clarifying your comment. I am taking care. You do the same.
Terry--this is YOUR buisness buddy. YOU should know everything about YOUR business. Why can't you answer both questions.
Do you homework; don't rely on being force-fed propaganda from your upline.
My husband's ex-wife tried to get us into Quixtar. In the begining (1999) you had to have an IBO number to shop the site. If you weren't fortunate enought to have someone bothering you about joining Quixtar, you could register to receive the number of an IBO in your area. Never did get one of those and found the pricing to be the same or even more than shopping online with direct retailers.
My best friend is an IBO and this is how it works:
Now you can go online and just buy. If you're a client, you buy at retail. If you're a member, you already have a code number and you get discounts.
To my knowledge, before you needed an IBO number to enter the site. Didn't mean you need to be an IBO, but just a referral. This was because only IBOs where allowed.
One thing though: Why are you complaining about Quixtar but yet you were trying to buy from them? I think you should try to understand the concept of the business before talking trash. I'm not an IBO, but i seriously don't see what's the big bad deal about Quixtar.
Yes there ALWAYS been a backdoor at quixtar.com. Months after several web sites challenged their legal right to re sell products such as xsenergydrink.com stating quixtar does not own that product but has some exclusive distribution agreements. Along with the wave of item being sold on eBay that they truly have no right to claim infringement on as long as you do not use their photos. They decided the company better un passcode the site and overtake the search engines and as you see today. They are mining new business by the hundred daily, thanks to those poor IBO's who think they have a snowballs chance in lleh of making a fortune. Introducing the products to new potential customers who go home or to the office and look to the www for a little product insight only to find they can order it online and pay by credit or debit card and reap the benifit of not having to order through a person. Those days are over the IBO has been replaced, thanks to the new quixtar.com web site.
The employees at Quixtar are paid liars.
Who side do you think they are going to defend your or the company that signs their check.
I just got off the phone with Quixtar customer service and the lady I spoke with said that she recalls people being able to place orders this way even with the old site. I questioned her further and she was not totally positive, but that is what she recalled.
Meaning, that with the old site, someone could register as a client without a referring IBO number, and then log in with their client number and password, and order products as usual.
She said that she thought she remembered this being an option when one tried to sign up as a client. That they were offered the option to continue registering if the didn't have a referring number.
As for your failing memory issues QBlog, You might want to look into this :)
