PSA Requests Investigation

By QBlog in

Robert FitzPatrick, of Pyramid Scheme Alert, has filed a request with the North Carolina Attorney General to begin an official investigation of Britt World Wide.

The investigation request (pdf) cites "deception" revealed in the NBC Dateline show and complaints from consumers as reasons for an investigation. It describes Britt's organization as a "classic pyramid" where goods (tapes, books and seminars) are sold within the system and participants can only recoup their investment by recruiting more participants.

The request also cites court cases, North Carolina statutes and testimony from Peggy Britt about "dubious assets offshore." I don't have any idea if this request will result in official action and I'm sure Britt has a response for each of the issues raised about his business but I just thought it was interesting that PSA was requesting an investigation.

It would certainly be interesting if the request for investigation was granted but I'm not getting my hopes up. I sometimes wonder about how well the pockets of elected officials are lined by the kingpins in the various states where they reside (Michigan, NC, etc.).

It kind of reminds me of the many times I've heard about how Quixtar is endorsed, acknowledged, approved, praised, glorified, etc. by the Attorney General as "The model to follow for business owners." I'll bet that most of the IBOs never questioned this quote and don't realize that it came from the Michigan Attorney General. Hello, your organization is based out of Michigan. Did you ever stop to think that this 'approval' might have come as the result of some campaign contributions, etc?

Just a thought.

Hi QBlog,

I wasn't able to find the investigation request on the PSA website. Did I miss it? If you could point me in the right direction, that would be helpful.

The part I found interesting was that the Britts seem to be separating from reading this request. When I was part of Worldwide, the low divorce rate was touted and marriage books were part of the support materials. But Peggy Britt never looked happy to me. But that's just my opinion.

As much as I'd love to see that (insert insult) Britt go down, but it wouldn't suprise me in the least if it fizzles. BB has years of practice on snowing the world. That's why his tools scam is so successful. I'm not nearly as cynical to take this comment to 100% heart, but it would seem to apply here that the U.S really does have the best law system *that money can buy*.

Ambivalent,

This may not be on the PSA Web site. It was sent to me by someone whom I trust and is in a position to know of its authenticity. However, I've not spoken to FitzPatrick about the investigation request.

Obviously you idiots have no idea what your talking about. This country is a free enterprise country meaning that we have the right to pursue any business venture that we want. First of all I don't even think you know what a pyrimid is. You know one of those things where everybody down at the bottom does all the work and the person at the top gets all the money. Sounds like a job to me. I myself have a business and are affiliated with this organization. And I have never seen such a positive environment that lifts people up for their success. Find that in a job. Also we don't have to buy any tapes or cds, and they come with a full moneyback guarantee, so if I don't like them I can send them back. Whats on these cds is a mindset about owning your own business, and telling us the truth about how 98 percent of the population will die broke. But unfortunatly our wonderful socialistic mindset public schools neglected to mention. Look for yourselves www.ssa.com. Do you think that all of the millions of people involved in this system would stay around if they weren't making any money. By the way the FTC aproves of what we do and so does the better business bureau. Each of our 1000+ partner businesses have had their own lawyers go through what we do making sure what we do is legal. But go ahead and keep talking about how this thing is some kind of conspiracy, it only reveals that you don't know what your talking about and reveals your stupidity.

what a great website, thanks for helping us sever the wheat from the chaff. but i perfer to take advice from those who have built empires instead of those who make a living and gain popularity by dragging people down to their level.

thanks again.
bob.
