My wife is also pretty involved with quixtar, and we go around and around alot about the pros/cons of this venture as I feel there is an unethical element to their business practices.

It was pretty interesting today to see a special correspondence in the mail addressed to all IBO's from Ken McDonald, Quixtar's Managing Director.

Apparently, Quixtar wishes to remind IBO's of their responsibility to prospects with regard to income claims and business support materials. It goes into detail about the reasons people become IBO's, the main being earning an income. The letter then talks about "Clear Requirements" that need to be provided to prospects about income claims. They provide in the letter a list of 'Musts' required by all IBO's:

using exact and most current figures regarding profits, earnings, etc.

using only authorized materials with prospects

directing prospective IBO's to the business ownership plan handout and advising them to review the important disclosures

giving prospects a copy of the plan handout

Here's the good one:

using only income and bonus claims that:
-are memorialized in Quixtar authorized BSM intended for use with prospects;
-are based on your personal experiences; or
-are lifestyle examples, provided such benefits are actually accrued as the result of building a Quixtar-powered business or disclose that the success depicted is from additional sources of income, provided you also at the same time disclose the average experience stated in the business ownership plan handout.

It goes on to talk about Business support materials with the usual stuff about them being voluntary, having a buy back policy, and there being no gaurantees of success. The last part in this section says that prospects should be advised that 'some IBO's earn income from the sale of BSM apart from their earnings as IBOs.

This all makes me wonder if this is some of the fallout expected from the Dateline airing and Quixtar's way of covering their butts in what may be coming.

I'd love to attend a living room plan presentation now just to see if they're following this and if so how much time is spent covering it. We'll see.

Gotta go. I've got to get back to my 'just over broke' JOB!

I've gotta tell you that after 13 YEARS of being hijacked by their empty promises, it is soooo nice to finally have a job (and lack of monthly income drain) that will leave me "just **OVER** broke"!!!!!

After chasing and believing in all those lofty dreams for so long, who would ever have thought it would feel like a LUXURY to have a merely "average" income?

I'm thrilled with my JOB, and with my life that finally leaves me with enough time and energy to spend some with my kids and wife. And heck, I even get to use my vacation time for......VACATIONS!!!! What a concept!
