So apparently Bill Britt is retiring. A voice message from Ron Puryear to the World Wide Group says that Bill and Peggy Britt have decided to retire from "this business." Linked below is a copy of that audio message (originally posted on Scott Larsen's site) followed by a full transcript.

Hi everyone, I'm going to read a prepared statement that's been approved by all the diamonds in World Wide for immediate distribution to the whole organization.No reason is given for their retirement. Maybe it's just time for the Britts to move on to other things? However, some have speculated that the Britts were forced into retirement as a result of recent marriage problems or possibly some poor business decisions.Here goes.
We all know that God's plan includes seasons and seasons mean change. This message is to announce a change that has occurred and a new season in God's plan that we look forward to. The diamonds had a meeting with Bill Britt at "Go Diamond" this past January where he mentioned that he was thinking of retirement.
In fact, Bill and Peggy have decided that was the last function they would do for World Wide Dream Builders, and they have decided to retire from this business. Georgia Lee and I and all your diamonds know that Bill and Peggy's leadership and mentorship were crucial in the formation of World Wide Dream Builders and we thank God for Bill's guidance in those early years.
As Bill and Peggy enter a new season of their life we ask you all to join us in prayer for Bill and Peg for their remaining years, for their good health and God's blessings. Georgia Lee and I along with all your diamonds look forward to another of God's seasons with excitement and anticipation for what the future holds.

It would not be a surprise if they were ‘encouraged’ to retire due to the bad press surrounding the lawsuits against them, Bill Britt’s involvement in business scams, the rumors about an affair, and the couple’s marital problems. After all this cools off, Peggy will probably divorce the blowhard.
Bill Britt "retires" without doing a farewell tour, and without even personally issuing a statement? How strange is that?
Obviously there appear to be some martital issues amonst the Britts, but is that all there is to this story? The Britt group has been very good at keeping a lid on any internal challenges - we haven't seen the public airing of the proverbial laundry as we have in some of the other groups. I wonder if we will ever learn the real truth about what is going on here.
Caution: Do not assume that Britt is retiring from anything. I would suggest that he is taking a temporary hiatus from the IBOAI board. This will allow the dust to settle. The Puryear audio message is a well-scripted attempt to speak to his group alone and calm them. Simply because Britt is no longer to be on a Puryear stage does not mean that Britt is gone.
With the cross-lining policies that these people have in place, most of Puryear's group will not know if Britt is around anyway. As an example: most of the people in my previous business did not even know that Bill Childress had been divorced for 2 years…and that was their upline. These people understand the importance of controlling the flow of information and how it impacts them.
Also, as Britt was the featured kingpin on the Dateline show this announcement sends a message to the core constituency that "we have solved the problem". Remember the role that perception plays in all of this.
The same week the board was meeting in Ada, the Britt story broke on the Internet. Due to it being public knowledge, Puryear and the rest of the kingpins felt compelled to handle this publicly. That was not their original intent. They felt as though they had no choice. In fact, I would suggest that the company was unaware of it until then as well. However, they are attempting to seize the moment and use this opportunity as a way to calm the army.
There is much more to this that will come out in time.

that is exactly why I put "this business" in quotes. This business could simply mean the WWDB business. Nowhere does it mention Quixtar. You'll also notice that I was careful not to make the mistake of assuming he was "out of Quixtar" as some have suggested. Maybe he is but this statement doesn't say that at all.

I'm downlines from Bill Britt. My group was informed 3 months ago that the Spring Leadership was the last event Bill would be directly running, that he was retiring. Looks like a normal thing to me.
I wish them the best. While I want to make money, if I don't , I've still won with the things I've learned from my associates in this business endeavor.
One thing that is certain, you better keep your business 100% clean and upstanding in this day and age. There are no secrets to be kept with this communications medium. The Quixtar business will have to purge and improve to survive. The old school way of doing business will have to change. Quixtar still has some great products and novel marketing plan.

We have been in Quixtar for about 8 months now and never have we ever met a group of people full of such integrity and morals. Britt Worldwide is growing 5-7 times faster than ANY team out there in Quixtar right now and that is why everyone seems to have something to say about them! I wish Bill and Peggy the best!
I think it is sad that noone has anything better to do with there time except tear other people down. I realize that not everything is for everybody-maybe some out there should also realize this fact. Instead of blaming Quixtar for your unsuccesful business maybe you should examin yourself. Maybe it just was'nt ment for you. Maybe you could have tried harder. I guarentee you did not do all you could do nor listen to the teaching if you did not become sucessful. Success is more than money. If you were plugged in to the teaching, you would have realized that EVERY leader in BWW has been successful in far greater methods than their wallets. The money is just a perk/blessing. They have developed leadership, morals and charicter, not to mention self-respect for themselves. They have also helped others to realize that they ARE worth something rather than just an "employee" in this world. If I never made a cent from BWW (which by the way is IMPOSSABLE unless you are just not commited) I would support them until my last breath. There are very few "true" leaders in this world...but BWW is full of them. God has blessed that orgination because they are put HIM first in ALL they do. Losers come and go but LEADERS stick around no matter what. As for the RUMORS about Bill and Peggy's marriage --I doubt very seriously there are any problems there. Regardless noone every said they were anything but human in the orgination. Lets let them deal with their priviate life and quit trying to look like a bigshot - obviosly you have chosen not to do anything with your life other than point the finger at others for your failures.
I'd like to take the time to give my thanks to all the broke people who put this site together and have made it what it is today. Because without the presence of poor people, how would we ever get the jobs that they have done? I enjoy garbage sites like these because it is always good to get a nice laugh in.
Bill Britt is 74 years old and has recently had heart complications. He is on heavy dosages of medication that affect his moods and decision making. Bill and Peggy are not splitting up at all, however, Peggy has done what she could to keep Bill from making rash decisions regarding their property and finances. Yes, Bill has been swindled out of millions of dollars on multiple occasions, which is what happens to billionaire business men. One million dollars to him is equivalent to about $300 to the average working american. In other words, he doesnt lose sleep over those deals. And yes, Bill and Peggy have stepped down from doing the WWDB functions, because again, they are in their mid-70's, and are just now beginning to ease up from the years of service they gave to their God, country, and business.
I don't know who a lot of you have been talking to, but you got a lot to change. How dare you TRY and take away dreams from people like that. I say Try because I haven't given up on my dream OR MYSELF for that matter. I got into this busness with my new husband almost a year ago. Not only are we making money, but I am so much of a better person thanks to the help of my associates aka, what I call family. Before, I had the lowest eslf-esteem than anyone, and I was suffering from major depression for years. A high school drop out and no GED or anything. Few friends and lived a very unhappy life. My husband at the time was into parting, drugs, sex and a lot of other crap. When we started this thing, I didn't think I could do it. I have people telling me every day that I am worth so much more in life than I ever thought I could be. The friends in this thing that I have made are amazing. They have been there for me through everything. WE ARE A TEAM!!!!!! I have people that talk to me and inspire me that aren't even in my upline anywhere. I've seen this thing work! Hundreds of times already. Lazy people don't get anything. DO YOU THINK THE PEOPLE WHO FOUGHT IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR WERE LAZY!?!?!?! NO!!! They fought for freedom. And that's what we do. I have dreams now that I've never had before and people that love me and made me see that all this time I have already been loved. Bill an Peggy are two of the greatest people I have ever met and I look forward to being up on stage with them in the future. God bless you guys and thank you so much for what you have given me. I used to be in Bill Britt's downline for a year, before I wisened up.
1) EVERYBODY that you meet at a Quixtar meeting are the active IBO's. You will never meet the majority of IBO's who have done the math and decided to quit.
2) 97% of IBO's will not break even, if you add in the cost of the tools and functions.
3) No matter how much is your effective discount, you are still paying WAY too much for very average (in some cases substandard) products
4) I object to the mind-control techniques which make you see every living person around you as potential downlines.
5) Uplines lie about performance. At a macro picture, Alticor has seen business fall by 20% per year for the last two years. Quixtar reduced the decline rate, by offering a "new" e-commerce channel, but as soon as people cotton on that Quixtar is just the old fraud Amway, this too will start declining. I do not wish to be a part of a declining organization.
6) I object to the glorification of the upline. Standard mind-control : "don't ask questions; once you make Diamond, you will understand"....the catch is that over 99% of people starting out will NEVER go Diamond.
I am a profitable IBO. Not wealthy, yet, but profitable. Any business or business group needs to have a scheduled checkup. I don't mind people saying how they feel they were miss treated. Evaluate it and if they have a point, lets adjust. If it is not a valid point. Move on. But don't scream and yell at them and tell them they are stupid and sub-human. I as an IBO have been taught to encourage people to go for their dreams, whether it be in our business or not. I will speak out against inaccurate negative press, with my personal experience. However, I do not consider name calling a legitimate form of rebuttle. I do just ignore people who are just looking for a fight though.
Why the surprise?
None of these guys are accountable to anyone. They preach one thing on stage and live different lives. When their sins are exposed they are swept under the rug. What a shame. They never get anyone to really pray for them, because they have created an environment where they cannot tell the truth. The Britt's don't need prayers for more health and success. They need prayer to turn to Christ. Bill has never spoken with love from stage, so don't be surprised when additional hypocrisy is exposed.
These diamonds learn to act like their lives are perfect and this is what they teach. Who does one turn to when they are having a problem? What would they say if they did? Bill Britt with his years of self talk messages, what was he to do? What a shame when you have no one to hold you accountable. What a shame when you don’t see your need to repent. It’s not his riches or health that will help Bill Britt now. Ron Puryear and the other diamonds, and you who are reading this, should pray that the Britt’s repent and turn to Christ. This may be difficult with their riches and pride, but with humility they can turn to Christ and be saved.
There are plenty of poor people in the world who are not moving forward in life and they live their lives by being judgemental all the times and that's why they are broke throughout their lives.
Yes Bill Britt for years boasted of the marraige success rate in the organization because it is true. Whatever the issues are that lie ahead for them are their business. People need to stop treating figure heads like they are gods. They are men an women. Men that are faced with all the same temptations of the devil that we are. And yes some of them fall victim to what they are trying to teach us to avoid. We are all sinners remember. God uses all people to accomplish his plan. And the end result is Bill Britt and his organization led more people to financial and spiritual success then most of you will in all your lifetimes put together. I am truly grateful that God allowed me experiance that. And I can only pray that those of you that are disgruntled will find something in your life that will have a possitive effect on you.

Bill & Peggy Britt are awesome leaders that this World requires. They are true freedom fighters who have impacted millions of lives all over the world. If anyone needs to critizise them, there is one question to that person."How many lives have you impacted in your lifetime". If the answer is at least one , then he is qualified to critizise them. A statue is not erected for the critic as the say goes.
I stumbled across this "neutral" website when I did a search for Bill Britt because I had heard some "things" about Bill Britt that I had a hard time believing. I want to commend Qblog for having a site like this--what a great attitude. My husband and I were in WWDB for over 10 years. We were directs for several of those years. We were exposed to alot of things. I think overall Bill Britt was probably made out to be more like a god and when he did somethings that humans can do...alot of people got hurt. In reality it is all about perceptions. When making comments it is very important to separate Amway from an IBO's support organization because they are different. An IBO gets their emotinal experiences from their support organization and basically their products from Amway/Alticor. Over the 10 years I was involved with Amway I never had a negative experience with the employees or products in fact I have never seen such a fine tuned more giving and personal ran family business. Now on the other hand my experiences with my support group WWDB it was different. I learned some positive and gain alot of negative experiences. Now I can learn all those positive things from self help books all on my own and really wish that I had just picked up a couple of them at the local bookstore! But I have to remember people are human and they do make mistakes and we are supposed to forgive no matter how rich or how much of it is sugar coated...but I tell you I came out of the 10 years with a very bitter and hurt perception because I did give it my all. God had been calling us elsewhere but I was so into not listening to Him but to myself and my upline...I had put WWDB (not Amway) first before God because I wanted it so bad. Besides I did not want to be labeled as a "loser" because I decided to quit. Now that I am out of the emotions of it all and sometimes brain washing would be a good term but really it was my respoonsibility as it was mine that I LET IT HAPPEN TO ME. I say this because my husband had a somewhat of a different experience with WWDB than I. He did not let it completely take control of his life. He concetrated on all the positive and safeguarded himself from the personalities of our upline in otherwords my husband still had his common sense....our personal upline actually was a very immature and ego driven wierdo in my eyes and as I look back I can't believe I allowed my self to follow him! Now my husband saw our upline as they were...humans...I got so caught up in the highly emotionaly part of it which can really knock one out of reality...okay now that I have given you my personal experience..my whole thoughts in a nutshell is this...1) there is alot of hype in the support systems (because it works) and to be careful and realize these people are human. 2) Always keep in mind that Amway is in itself a separate business than ones support group. 3) never let the support group alienate you from your loved ones and your church because not everyone is supposed to do multilevel 4) Just because your upline has a pin doesnt mean that everything he or she says or does is the best use your common sense! 5) one gets out of the business what one puts into it and you are responsible for your decisions and you shouldn't blame anyone else. The biggest thing for me is I allowed myself to get hurt emotionally because I gave to much power to my upline and not God. Thanks for reading my opion--D

ive been involved w/quixtar since it started.I have a good amount of money proportional to my efforts and I have learned a lot.This is the best business opportunity on earth and i dont take anybody else word other than my one.

It has been over 4 years since I have participated in the Quixtar business. I put 12 years into the Amway business, and I met a lot of great people not only at Directs meetings, but also the world-renowned speakers such as Les Brown, Zig Ziglar, Peter Marshall and the like. I will never forget the positive experiences at these functions. I realized though, that the lop-sidedness in the amount spent on tools, etc. had to change in order for this business to survive. I started to see the handwriting on the wall years ago when Ken & Donna Stewart got divorced. This event created a rif in the organization, and people started questioning the excessive dependency on the system as well as the secrecy of the internal marital conflicts. Why the secrecy? Because the truth would tarnish the image of the sought after leader. This is why it is critical that humility is still present even after you think you have it all together. As soon as you think that, pride comes before the fall. That would quote "hurt the business". Jeff Probandt put it best. If your going to create a pyramid with the BSM's business, why not have Amway run it and pay bonuses on tools the same way you do the products. The kingpins would not have anything to do with this. Why? They have come to depend on the pyramid pool of money at the Platinum level and above that makes them extremely wealthy. Don't get me wrong, the system did teach me how to have more self confidence and more business acumen. It gave me a good foundation of how to deal with people. But, it did not directly create profitable results in my organization or most other groups because of the excessive costs and the redundancy of the information. Why not buy one set of tapes that teach all the principles you need to know and be done with it. Go out and make your honest six-figure income with the sales of products coupled with sponsoring just like Rich and Jay originally intended it to be. Can you get super-rich? Well, you probably won't end up having 50 million to blow on lousy investments. But, you can develop some decent wealth with it as long as you can net a profit without the system costs. The frustration of trying to adhere to leadership and use my own intincts to make a good business decisions was evident. Were they trying to deceive me? No, I don't think so. It was what they were taught. They really did want everybody to succeed in this. The reality was that they got sucked into the vast money machine at the top of the system. Their defense came in by the thought that they started right where everybody else starts.. at the bottom. Yes, but the politics of the kingpins picked and chose their people that they thought deserved a big chunk of the profits. So all the chatter back and forth for and against Quixtar is getting a little old. The elite kingpins have got to be shaking in their boots about now. The party may soon be over. The next couple of years will be telling. What will happen to these leaders? They will either come forth with truth, fix the problem, take the losses, and then rebuild. Or, they will lose it all... and their spouses. Why do you think Peggy wants to bail on Bill? It's real simple, she is tired of all the lawsuits against them, she is fearful that he will continue headstrong with his selfish ambition, and she truly knows deep down that the system proliferates inequities. The pressure of all this would bust up even the most solid of marriages. That is why I think they should give all the controversy up and come clean. Even faithful wise men of God have to do an inventory of their own heart to see if it has grown wicked. Maybe we should have a nationally televised debate about this subject on the merits of the system and what the facts truly are. It could have been fixed by Quixtar 3 years ago with the momentum Bo Short had with the corporation. Can it be salvaged? Only God knows now.. Peace to all of you who need answers.

This is an interesting event. Although awhile ago now. I was in Amway for years as well, never made a dime, made good personal decisions and has impacted my life in future business. Truth is, the system works ideally, not programatically. GET OUT NOW! It was the best thing I did. I have made many friends doing it, but that is it. Not to Mention Bills half-witted brother Jim. Bill has his hands so far up his ass it isnt even funny. Divorce must run in the family as well. Jim has been divorced three or four times now I cant keep track. Looks like his brother wants to catch up, good ol Billy boy. Squeal you FAT PIG...!!
Some of you people are really ridiculous. First of all, I was at summer conference in North Carolina and Bill Britt is basically stepping down due to health reasons. I'm guessing due to his heart condition. The guy may take the supplements, but he still likes a cheese burger now and then. He is involved with so many other activities that you don't even know of, besides Rocky Covington, Larry Winters and the Kanti Gala are most definately up to the challenge of taking his place.
If you attend an FED, you will see the struggles that many people go through to go diamond and that will put alot of your whining to rest.
As far as wandering why diamonds continue to build the business, think of it as maintenance. Plus if you're doing things right, you want eveyone that helped you go diamond(your platinums) to achieve diamond and beyond also. 12 hours a week maybe 3 weeks a month versus 40 hours a week for the rest of your life.
I recommend spending 6 months to a year just observing the team before you start making judgement calls.
I was in amway for 9 yrs, made a grand total of minus thousands, contacted, meetings, you name it, i was a machine, no fear, always lying to people, Avoiding the A word at thier OPEN meetings, ohhh DONT USE A word, call it the business or Private Business meeting, I was in the NY Joe Petrillo group, this guy is way to impressed with himself, whatever the case, Bill Britt, a good strong leader, a true success and has helped many people become successful, not just in amway, I took my education to other successfull businesses, so yea he is screwing around on peggy, pics say it all huh ?....He should have went and got a hooker, less risk, no strings and may save him 50-100 mill or more huh....at least she should have been young and hot, she was fat and old.....BILL snap out man !!.........Wish him the best...make up with your wife and go get a hooker, bee smarrrtt !!!! I was involved in this MLM some years ago. Thus i am familiar with the company and the Britt System. I wont tell you its good or bad, but lets look at the FACTS rather than EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT:
FACT: Amway is only a company that manufactures and supplies products. It has high ratings. There is no doubt about that
FACT: The Britt system is more subjective and is only as credible as your group. There are honest people in the business, and they are shady people trying to use you for personal promotion.
a.) I had an upline who was pushing tapes on me. It was quite evident. They tried to increase the # of tapes they distribute so they will look good to their own uplines.
b.) When you are told that they dont make money off of tapes, you have to wonder who they are kidding. The cost of manufacturing a single cassette/tape is less than $.88 (cents!), however by the time it gets to the downlines, I ended up paying $5+ for it.
FACT: False Teachings
a.) The "power of the spoken word" philosophy baffled me for years. I am a Christian and I know that God is not our "spiritual bus-boy" who will fetch us whatever we want just because we spoke it. That would be so injust if it were trude. God will give us what we NEED, not necessarily what we WANT.
God's thoughts are beyond ours and He knows what we need before we even realizeit!
b.) The true Gospel of Jesus Christ is not preached from the Britt stage on Sunday Mornings. The True Gospel of Jesus Christ is one that could be preached to any person, living in any country, living under any conditions- and it will give them hope. Britt says that "God wants you to be rich". Can you take that message to the person who is being persecuted and tortured in a third world country because of his beliefs? Can you tell a mother whose baby has died in her arms because of poor nutruition that "poverty is a curse"? .
I appreciate the system for showing me some aspects of the business world, but at the same time I regret spending the time and money I did before I knew the truth.
I was an IBO for nearly 7 years after I got out of the military. I believed in the promise of what the business could do for me, and to this day, I will tell anyone who will listen that there is nothing wrong with giving it a try and who knows, maybe you will succeed to the level that you want. I know this, that Amway-Quixtar has some very excellent products and if I have the opportunity to use them I have no compunctions about being a customer.
What I have a problem with is the way some people have taken the principles that Bill Britt taught and perverted into other things. For instance, everyone knows that Bill Britt started the Sunday morning worship services so that everyone would have a place at the function where they could go every Sunday Morning so they would not have to leave the premises and find a local church to go to. And there's nothing wrong with that. But what many uplines, and mine did was make Sunday morning the sole focus of why we are getign people into the business. I was preached to time and time again that this is not a business just about making money, it is about "bringing souls to know and love the Lord through this business", and the most important thing we can do besides meet them, show the plan, sign them us is to get them to a function......always I heard GET THEM TO A FUNCTON, because if youc an get them to a function they will go to Sunday morning, hear the word of God preached by Bill Britt and they will go forward and commit their lives to Jesus Christ, and they too will go out and start themselves a Diamond business, because they too will see the saving power of this business.......unless of course they didn't really make a commitment to Jesus, in which case they will just wallow around and quit after a while, in which case you are better off without them anyways. I had this beat into my head over and over until I got so tired of it...........my upline would make me feel so guilty about not meeting enough people, not showing enough plans, not bringing anybody new to functions. I was told, "Don't you know there are people out tehre that NEED you to show them how to be saved? Aren't you going to do God's work? What will you tell God at the end of time when He asks you 'How many people did YOU bring to me?'" It didn't matter to my upline how hard I tried, how many sleepless nights I spent just trying to meet someone, anyone who would say yes, it all came down to that I must be not right with God. He could very skillfully use any Bible verse he chose to take me to a place where I had to either agree or disagree with him. If I agreed with what he was saying then I had to acknowledge that I believed in God but wasd not living my life right according to his will. If I disagreed with him, then I was saying that I didn't believe in what the Bible says, which makes me an unbeliever. Either way, I was screwed, I was dammed, and the only way to salvation was to start meeting more people, showing the plan and miving forward to Diamond. Only Diamond will do, because only a Diamondship has the selfsustaining ability to keep gong even if I stop working it, meaning that every day someone in my Diamond business is signing up to go to the next function which means they too will have a chance to go to Sunday morning and go forward and be saved...provided of course they go Diamond.
The problem with all this is it requires a comitment.....without commitment, nothing happens.....I had that preached endlessly to me by my upline too. Unless I commit to going Diamond, God will withhold all his blessings on me and I will be at a dead standstilll until I make up my mind that I will comit myself fully to doing it. The problem with making a comitment is that I would not just be making a commitment to my upline to go Diamond, I am making a commitment to God.....now I can break my commitment to my upline and maybe nothing will happen, but break my commitment to God??? Hoo boy, the day that happens, I might as well kiss my soul goodbye because God has a place reserved at the bottom-most pit of hell for people like me who make a commitment to God and then do not follow through. I was solemnly warned time and time again that once I commit, that is it.......if I am 90 years old and I still have not made Diamond, I better keep working because God has got me bound to a promise. I heard over and over again the verse from Ecclkesiastes that says "When you make a vow to God do not delay in keeping it. God has no pleasure in fools. It is beter not to make a vow than to make a false vow. Do not say to the temple messenger 'my vow was a mistake.' Therefore stand in awe of God." So.......with that sort of threat, how could I make a commitment? But it takes me right back to the fact that unless I make a commitment nothing will happen...no commitment, no Diamond. Quiting was also not an option either, because well...same thing........God was intervening by showing me this business and by saying yes, I was saying yes not just to an upline but to God, so if I quit, I am quitting on God. So in the end, according to my upline, the philosophy is that anyone who is in the business and is a true Christian, saved, born again of water and the spirit acording to the Gospel of John, not only has the ability to succeed, but has an OBLIGATION TO SUCCEED. And success is guaranteed because God has promised to bless those who believe in him, so if a person is a true believer and still cannot go Diamond, then either one of two things has to be....either God's promises are empty, or the IBO is really not a true Christian afterall. Of course God's promises are not empty, so it follows that any IBO calling him or herself a Christian and is stilll not succeeding is lying about being a true ChristiaN. When I asked my upline for help to get more stats on my monthly sheet, I was asked to tell him in detail about my prayer life......first, did I pray (DUH!) what did I pray for, how many times a day did I pray, how many times a day did I read my Bible, did I tithe, was it the whole tithe or was there any part of it that I was withhlding due to fear of not being able to pay my bills? (Apparently according to my upline, God wants His tithe no matter what your situation is, and if paying the tithe means that you get kicked out of your apartment for nonpayment of rent, then thats just tough!) When I protested that I wanted help in the business not my spiritual life, I was told that he WAS helping me in the business, and the only way to help was to find out which area oif my life was not right with God. I asked what makes him think that any part of it is, and he said that if I am not succeeding then it HAS to be God saying get right first, then I will bless you. I was told once by my upline that he wanted me to have a banker in my business by the end of the week......I protested that this was just not possible......he said "Nothing is impossible to him who believes....but if yoy say that it isnt possible then it must mean that you don't believe." I asked how in the world was a nobody like me supposed to approach a banker and get him to look at the plan.....I was told "where do you find bankers? In banks!" I said ok, what am I supposed to do, just barge right into his office and say listen here, I have someting you need to look at? He told me "whatever it takes!" I said ok is that what you really want me to do? He repeated "whatever it takes!" I said that if I did something stupid like that, he would call security and have me thrown out,he said "Ok so you are saying that you fear man more than God?" I said no, but I am being realkistic, I can't just go into a banker's office and say I want to show you Amway, he said ok so don't say you want to show him Amway, tell him you have a busines to show him.....I said ok exactly what am I supposed to say to him, he said "God will give you the words to say, of course you have to believe in God first...do you believe in God?" I said to him, listen I have been a shy person all my life, how can I just go up to someone like that and expect to be heard? Hed said "you went forward and accepted Jesus Christ in your life, and you were supposed to be born again and made a new person........if you say that you are still the shy person you were before, then it must mean that you erally didn't commit your life to Jesus...did you?" I finall;y said that I just could not do that, I can't just go into a banker's office and realistically expect to get a yes on the spot....I was told that my faithe must be with someone else because "as for me, 'I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me", but if you really believe that you can't...oh well, I feel sorry for you at the end of time when you have to account to God why you let fear of men keep you from offering that banker the way to save his soul." Now with stuff like this pounded into me year after year, is it anyt wonder that I really started to have a real inferiority complex? I actually spent many nights crying to myself believing that I was doomed to Hell, but feeling totally and completely helpless to do anything other than keep getting out there and trying again, night after night. One morning I stayed out until I could not keep my eyes open anymore and slept in my car until I needed to go to work,,,of course I had to answer to that to my upline......Why did you stop and sleep? I said because I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I was reminded that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I said that I had to sleep before I went to work, I was told "You can szleep when you're dead!" I said if I go many more nights with just an hour of sleep or no sleep, then maybe I WILL be dead, I was told "you get what you speak!" (anotehr phrase I heard over and over).
Bottom line is that I finally reached the point where I had to balance out where I was (at a standstill), where I was going (nowhere), my prospects of doing any better (zilch!), and what I really wanted to do. I decided that the time was right for me to go back to college and get a nursing degree. Of course the course of study involved left no time for business (ah but NOTHING is impossible to him who believes!), and there was no way I could take any time to keep up being both an IBO and a fulltime student(but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!) I allowed my membership to lapse quietly........at first I thought about just keeping on as a member, but I thought no it's better to just sever all ties. I have a closet full of tapes now, and some good books, all I have left of a time where I was beating myself up over not doing better in what was supposed to be my own business, but I had to find out that it was really both God's and my upline's business, and it meant that my upline could literally be in my business including those areas that are supposed to be private between me and my God.
What I am trying to say to those of you who read this.......if you feel that this is the way for you to succeed, then by all means do it! But do NOT allow anyone to make you feel that you will go to Hell and damnation if you fail to make it to Diamond or quit. The book of Britt Diamionds is NOT the Book of Life.....your name does not have to be in Bill Britt's book to be in God's book. Your spirituality is betwewen you and your God, not your upline....being in submission to your upline does not give your upline the right or authority to tell you that you are out of God's will if you don't show the right number of plans or met the right number of people or get to the right milestone on the road to Diamond. The day someone in your upline tells you that, it is time to take a good look at who you are making your journey with. God Bless all of you......I don't know if what I have been reading about Bill and Peggy Britt is true or not or just someone's wishful thinking, but if it is true then thats nobody's business but theirs.

I have spent the better part of two days reliving my Amway experiences and reviewing the Bo Short, Jeff Probst(sp), and Eric Schreiber(sp) commentary online. In addition, I have reconnected with past Amwayites in sharing these documentaries and sites and then discussing them candidly. As an ordained minister and a future "golden boy" in the Amway business, I can without hesitation that the majority of this business and many prominent people in it are greedy, money-worshipping FOLLOWERS who have had their independence and reason taken away. As there is not enough room here for me to HONESTLY praise and condemn the various aspects of the business and the people who have built it, let me at least suggest that those who are introduced to Amway do as much research as possible before committing. In 1998, I was instrumental in blowing the whistle or removing the veil of the dishonest and immoral "system of tools" and subsequently was stripped of my future star status to a malcontent who was trying to cause trouble. To diffuse any such discussion and to protect my own future testimony about the things that I witnessed, I contacted Amway Corporate personally and was afforded the opportunity to reveal the practices that were being performed in our business. Needless to say, they were shocked, and the ramifications of that call was felt by all in my group. I still (somewhat reluctantly) confess that I think Amway is a wonderful business with outstanding products that can produce a modest income for dedicated and hardworking individuals. Sadly, that income from Amway alone was not enough to appease many of the greedy and immoral people that believed in lies to propel their businesses. Because I am an unknown individual who is posting on this site, it would be easy to discount my words as mere "sour grapes" over a failed business. Yet, my business was growing at a rate far faster than many participants when the truth about "system income" and under the table privileges became known. Convicted and wanting to do the right thing, I rang the alarm on these dishonest individuals and have lived in peace with my decision ever since, though my upline diamond and other FOLLOWERS of him attempted to make things uncomfortable. Sadly, there is more to say but time and space restraints do not allow me to proceed. I will say that I am still an Amway distributor who speaks highly of the products and uses many of them to this day. I will however never again allow myself to participate in building a business where hardworking, childrearing parents and members of our great nation's workforce are told lies and issued immoral advice. Beware and be smart and know that I for one respect you immensely if you can build your business to high level without the help of the crooked system and the instigators of it. Bill Britt, Larry Winters, Rocky Covington, Daniel Snipes, Dave Severn and many other incredibly successful entrepreneurs are a source of continuous inspiration for everybody who builds this business, "no matter" what their personal and family lives are. Don't anybody forget that though very much successful, they are people, not Gods! They still have weaknesses and make mistakes. However they have proved to be highly effective as leaders and do help us to build strong businesses on our way to personal and economic freedom.

All these people that post on this blog are stupid. Amway is a business just like any other business. You can make money at it; just like any other business. The problems begins when small minded people focus on these leaders as Gods. They are accountable to God, not man. They make you sign an agreement for the tapes, nobody makes you buy them. IT IS YOUR BUSINESS. I said that 10 years ago in Amway, no one listened then and I see the stupidity continues. Most people that make negative statements about the leaders are looking for an excuse to fail. That is what the lawyers are for. I got out of Amway because I was tired of the Right-Wing agenda. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Socialist, but the business is for business NOTHING ELSE. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT BILL BRITT'S other woman. That is between he and his wife. Does that add or subtract money from YOUR profit margin??? NO! Why does it matter? If you do you part of the business model, AMWAY pays you!! NOT BILL BRITT. Stop making excuses like MOST lazy Americans and take advantage of ALL the opportunities in this country. God will deal with the con artists later. i was in "the business" for years with my now ex-husband and we were direct distributors. thank God we got out when we did. we heard about dave frasier and his wife splitting up years ago and couldn't believe it because this was the same man who would preach on sunday mornings at the major functions and then we find out he has a mistress on the side. so when a friend (and old downline ruby) told me that bill and peggy had split up i was shocked at first but then reality set in. the way bill would talk down to peggy at the functions like she was his "property" was amazing (and sickening because my "husband" thought peggy was just standing by her man which i thought was crap). maybe that's why i'm not married to my ex anymore. maybe his new wife will let him run over her like he tried to do to me (unsuccessfully). hopefully peggy will take everything she can (like i did except my ex was a grain of salt in bill britt's saltshaker!) and maybe she will find her a REAL man who knows how to treat a woman like i have. i'm not saying amway is ALL bad, i'm just glad i was more strong-willed than the average amway woman. it seems "the business" preys on the ones who haven't got alot of self-esteem and who can be manipulated more that we could be. the only thing i DON'T regret is that it taught me to be a more positive person in the long run. good luck peggy and keep your chin up.
Lol... I find this pretty shocking. I did not realize that this organization had so many problems. I am so glad that I made the decision to get out when I did. I always thought that Bill Britt was a man of God. I believe I even attended a function where he talked about Bill Clinton and his scandal and now he is in his own ordeal. Right now I am trying to get my brother to give it up because he isn't making anything. He is putting out more money than what is coming in. He tells the family that he will never quit though and that disturbs me. I have found a much better opportunity and feel that no one is looked to as a god like Mr. Britt was. You all want to complain people looking at Bill Britt as a god, but when everything was rosey all we ever heard about was how great Bill was. My advice to Bill is to practice what you preach. I'm sure he has touched several lives through the money making aspect and through sunday morning worship services, but he needs to get his life together. I don't regret joining the business though. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about how to run a business, but I am very happy to say that I am no longer a part of this organization. This is not the road to success. Who wants to buy every day products online?.... lol... not me. PLEASE GUYS GET OUT NOW!!!!
I read only some of the comments from this "Bill Britt retirement message". Anytime an individual achieves success, they open themselves to "pot shots" from naysayers, lazy, jealous people. It's predictable. Bill Britt knows that and I have been taught that. Life is full of crap, but the wealthy can deal with it better than the poor. I'd rather be wealthy and deal with crap than poor. How about you?

I will never forget your inspirational talk in '87 in Rapid City which prompted me to take the walk up to the stage to reaffirm my commitiment to God and myself. That weekend road trip with my sponsors was worth every second of time and every dollar I invested in the business.

its funny to observe that some people are so passionately against a group and a company,no one says anything about other so called" institutions" that offer the same type of "benefits". colleges and univeresities pedal books and tapes seminars and lectures with nothing more than a piece of paper to show for the time,effort and dollars spent. insurance and real estate sales are no different. here's a tip:no one owes you anything,if you really want something regardless of if its in a mlm or anything else. you will have to work hard to achieve any level of success. people in general like to blame others for their lack of ambition and drive . o.k. quixtar is "bad" we've got that sherlocks now who do you blame for your lack of success?
Just one thing for anybody looking at "getting in". Many people are "sponsored" by people they already know. Take a look into the persons' eyes. Yes, they are excited, but look deep in their eyes. There is almost a "crazy" quality to them. This is from the cult and brainwashing techniques utilized by the organizations.
Believe me, your friend or aquaintance will look straight into your eyes and they will lie to you. Not because they mean to, but they are repeating what they have been taught.
Many things that are taught or said at "Open meetings" are in direct violation of Amway / Quixtar rules. Before you do anything, ask to see the COMPANIES' rules. I know many of the things I was taught were directly addressed and prohibited by the rules.

OK, you heathens can say what you want to here or on any other blog. The facts remain, this country boy got his life straightened out at a sunday morning church service at a leadership weekend in the Amway business. There was no church, preacher, clergy or relative that had the right words to say, But Thank God Ron Hale did at the Hotel Roanoke in 1987. Was it worth it? Yes indeed and a lot more if required and we still made money. If you loosers have a better alternative, show me the money.

I find this interesting because from what I remember from the Amway / Quixtar meetings the "big picture" was focused on going Diamond and retiring early. Residual income will make you rich so you don't have to work..and yet many Diamonds keep on working? Took a while to figure out that you never really retire even at the diamond level.
Good luck to the Britt's...if there is a problem in the marriage I pray it will be resolved as peacefully as possible.
