Special Message for Platinums

By QBlog in

The following message was forwarded to me from someone claiming to be an IBO. I have no idea if it's really from Ken McDonald or not but it sounds believable. Nothing sensational about this email, just thought it was interesting that McDonald sent this on Wednesday instead of Saturday or even Monday. I guess he's been busy with other stuff.

Subject: A Special Message for Platinums

To Qualified Platinums and above:
Some of you may have seen the Dateline NBC story about our business that aired on Friday night. Obviously, Dateline got it wrong. It was not a fair and balanced look at our business. After more than a year of reporting, it focused on the complaints of three former IBOs -- one of whom is now a competitor -- and ignored the countless stories of people who are completely satisfied with their Quixtar experience. But we know the vast majority of you get it RIGHT, day after day, as you help people help themselves.

If you are interested in our complete response to the Dateline story, check out http://www.quixtarresponse.com. You'll find positive statements addressing topics raised by Dateline, plus media clips from Doug DeVos, your Quixtar management team, the Better Business Bureau, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a former Attorney General, and more. We hope you use this site to respond to any questions that may come your way.

All of us here at Quixtar have tremendous confidence in this great business and even more confidence in YOU! Let's prove Dateline wrong by continuing to grow our business to new levels of success.

All the best,
Ken McDonald

Well, I don't know why this caught my eye (and it's probably nothing) but why did McDonald say "satisfied with their Quixtar experience" and not "Quixtar business?" Poh-tay-toe - Puh-tah-toe maybe? Yeah, I know I'm reading too much into this stuff.

Nothing like keeping the poor duplicatable upline (who were on the front line) in the dark. I checked my Communikate until the Sunday following Dateline and the only messages from our Diamonds was "don't forget...Turn off your TV and increase your PV in the month of May" This team challange was first brought up at the last function a month ago. I have to believe they knew it was coming, so how come it took them so long to respond?
It was enough for us. I cancelled my ditto delivery and cut of the Communikate propaganda machine on Sunday. Thank God we hadn't been in it long enough to loose much but our time!

Linda,

I am also new to Quixtar, but very well remember the old Amway days of stock pilling goods in ones basements.

I am just wondering with such a great opportinity why would Quixtar risk so much for so little gain. Why would they drag Amways old ways into the Quixtar arena?

This has me very confused, though I love the business idea and system of selling, I totally disagree with the training end of the business.

I have not been forced to order tapes or attend functions but I am sure my day will come. I am able to make my 100PV but I did lose two people on that Dateline airing.

When Circuit City, Disney.com and all the other 150 partner stores start pulling out of Quixtar I guess my business will be done also.

I believe that if you look hard enough at any business you can find things wrong, and I do hope that Quixtar will address this issue of cash collecting at meetings this has turned a few of my people off. I guess with all the praying they have to use something to control such large masses of people so that part is understandable.

Linda, dont give up just because of a bump in the road.

Nancy

Nancy,

I wish that Quixtar WOULD "address the issue of cash collecting at meetings..." -- but I can pretty much guarantee you that they won't.

That's because those meetings ARE your upline's "business". Your diamonds and above aren't making much money from Quixtar -- but they are likely making a handsome sum off that 'cash at the door' business they've conned you into thinking is there to "SUPPORT" your/their Quixtar business -- and is essential to your success....

Quixtar/Amway has known about that "issue" for around 30 years -- but has flatly refused to deal with it. Like the mob has legitimate "front" businesses through which to make it's real profits, your upline "leaders" likewise maintain a Quixtar business as their "FRONT" via which they are able to operate their real enterprise -- that of the "training system" you are subtly expected/required to subscribe to. If Quixtar were ever to move in to discipline these "Leaders", Quixtar knows that they would just unplug themselves -- and more importantly, their GROUP/VOLUME -- from the Quixtar operation; and simply switch to some other "Front" enterprise. Making that new business a billion-dollar enterprise, and Quixtar bankrupt -- all overnight!

Many of us hope this will be far more than a bump in the road, not merely because their empty promises cost us tens of thousands of dollars, but because we have numerous folks in our former groups who were seriously harmed by our having talked them into that business. And we are praying that good people like you will wake up and see the red-flags waving around you before you suffer the same kind of fate we and our former downline fell victim to.

More sincerely than you can imagine,
Dennis Rainwater

Nancy,
Why would Quixtar risk so much for so little gain? Because it is not a little gain for those at the top.
I remember the Amway days too, when every 3rd house on the street was an Amway Distributor. We got approached at least 3 times a week by someone wanting to tell us about a great business. Towards the end, we would say if this is about Amway...no thanks. They would say "no, it's not Amway, we have our own business it's ABC distributing." Then they came to the house and drew circles. I told one couple to leave shortly after they arrived because I was trying to pack to move the next day and after begging them to be honest, they still swore it was not Amway, but the circles gave them away.
Why did I try Quixtar then? Because I was told it was NOT AMWAY! Amway didn't exist in the US anymore, some people who used to be with Amway, but didn't agree with the way it did business, started Quixtar (the cured form of Amway,) only the good products and none of the problems ya ta da ya ta da....
Do yourself a favor and read the Rest Of The Story by Bo Short.....
Then get out before it is not a bump in the road but a total wipe out that you feel.
I feel sorry for the young friend of my son and his wife that sponsored us. They have been so brainwashed, they are both in great professions and are very innocent (which is why they are so effective at signing people up)
My children, including my son, breathed a sigh of relief when I announced we had quit.

I have been in for a year and have absolutly no problem with this program. The $6 dollars they collect for an open helps pay for the room. The monthly seminars cost a whole $14 to pay for the lager room. Whoo breakin the bank. Every advertisment I seen says the average active IBO makes $118. I make more than that so I'm happy. My upline always tells me don't spend more than you make. You must have a crapy upline.

well unknown, do you really believe that the $6 they collect at the door is to cover the cost of the room? i've been at the little hotel meetings before, they bring in 50-70 people and charge each one $6-$10 depending on who is spouting the propaganda that night. when you rent out a conference room at a hotel do you have any idea how much it costs? it's about $150-200 for a night. and if you rent a room you can get it much cheaper, usually only $100. then when you leave there is always some CD or book the speaker is selling. so they make some money there. point is, they are making a killing off you poor suckers. and you will believe anything they say just because they tell you they have more money then you.

I was wondering if you dont go to the seminars, or the functions, and just continue to do your pv and get you clients and IBO's, how is money being lost?

Funny, it is more than a year later, and Circuit City NOR Disney.com have pulled out of Quixtar.

Also, yes the money is to pay for the room. My parents own their own business (not quixtar or amway or alticor) and have accrued these fees before.

And finally, we have never been pressured to buy tapes or Cds or books. They have been given to us by our mentor. We certainly have never been pressured to buy the CDs after the meetings, which we find vaulable to building our business and which we are very successful in already.

Oh and I forgot to mention...

If you claim to have LOST tens of thousands of dollars, it's no wonder you weren't successful. All costs for functions, books, CDs, tapes, weekends, and, yes, even the $5 you pay at meetings, are TAX WRITE OFFS!!!!! How did you manage to lose tens of THOUSANDS of dollars?

I started this business a year ago, and through out that time i have not lost thousands of dollars(like some people say), because in 6 months of being an IBO member i qualified as a platinum, and next year im going for diamond, and when that day comes ill be back...to tell everyone of you this business WORKS, when you know how to make it work...oh and i have to say something, to those who this business didnt work....the money does not appear like magic, you have to work for it to get it,and when you get it ohh gosh IT SURE FEELS GOOD,and a last thing i have to say to all quixtar members,DONT EVER GIVE UP and never let other people steal your dreams, always keep them in mind and one day you will get everything you wished for.
