Missing: TOD Tool-Money Contract
By QBlog in
Team of Destiny is a "Quixtar powered" business that promotes what's often called "tool money" as a key component of its business plan. Orrin Woodward, CEO of Team of Destiny, explains that this "tool money" is a "Secondary business" that "supports the primary business (Quixtar) with each segment generating revenues and profits." He includes two graphics (Graphic 1, Graphic 2) on his personal Web site that illustrate this concept.
The graphics clearly illustrate that money from speaking, events, and training & educational materials comprise a significant portion of TOD revenue. What's not clear is how TOD members specifically share in this "tool money."
SA4400
Quixtar makes their compensation plan very clear. In fact, even I understand most of it (and that's saying something). Not only is it pretty easy to understand, it's publicly available. Download a copy here (pdf) and see for yourself. You don't even have to be a Quixtar IBO to read it, you just need a Web browser.
Where's the TOD Compensation Plan?
What I don't find is a copy of Team of Destiny's compensation plan for the "tool money." Surely there is some sort of legally binding contract that clearly demonstrates how each TOD member will share in the "tool money" when he meets TOD's requirements. Quixtar has the SA4400, where is TOD's equivalent? It has to exist somewhere... right? Nobody would join up with TOD expecting revenue from "tool money" without a contract... would they?
Gosh, I hope not.
Wanted: TOD Tool Contract
I'm humbly requesting a copy of the TOD "tool money" guarantee. Once I receive a copy I will modify this post to reflect that reality. Thank you so much. I know it's out there... somewhere.

Where was this site 18 months ago? I could have save $$$ and avoided this whole thing!! Tool $ and Event $ are the real revenue stream here and don't think other wise.
I have been an Amway/Quixtar distributor/ IBO since 1979. I have personally sponsored/ recruited about 90 people in that time frame. The most that had stayed in at any time were about 15. At that time there were a total of about 130 people in the organization. We did reach 7500 PV once (silver, platimun). We grossed about $1500 that month. For a few years after that we had a group of about 100 people and could barely hit 1000 PV every month. This generated a gross income of about $150 per month. Expenses on tax returns most years were averaging $20,000. (including the tapes, books, events and other business building tools.) Can you say losing money? We traveled the length of the east coast to show the plan to people, sometimes for "no shows".
Our sponsor is the number 2 IBO in the business and has been in the business for 33 years now. Bought his first jet in 1981. He has/had about 200 diamonds in his downline and has one group larger than Bill Britt. I do know what I am talking about because of the uniqueness and closeness of our experience. I've been to Dexter Yager's house with only two other people with me at the property. I've worked backstage at these functions at coliseums with 20,000 and 40,000 people in attendance. I've read all the negative websites for the last three years. I have yet to see one that is even in the same league as far as time in, work put in, results accomplished, money lost as the one I could write in detail. Everything I've read is basically true and I believe all of them. I just wish my story was as good as all those. I still have a membership andthere are still about 20 people who generate an average of 600 P.V. This creates an income of about $40 monthly. This is truly passive because I spend nothing and do nothing including tools. This business stole my life from 18-40 years old. It was all my focus and attention. I literally spent over $200,000 chasing the dream while my wife and I worked at jobs that paid under $10/hour. I then became fully disabled two years later through a rare illness. We had a bankruptcy in 1990 because of the business and almost did it again 9 years later. One month we made $1500. Next best month was about $800. All before expenses. The life we lost is the sad thing. We have yet to have vacation that doesn't have a business schedule somewhere in it. This was our 'life" for 23 years. It's a miracle my wife is still with me after 25 years.
I need to repeat that everything I've read on every 'negative' website is true. All are mild compared to mine. God Bless.
Oh, by the way, the new rules mentiones about non-competing, etc., are true. I just went into the Quixtar website as an IBO and there it is under the What's New section. You guys are dead on correct!
Hope this helps someone.
I know what you mean Dewey. If I would've done my homework in June '03 before signing up and giving away my money I would be several thousands richer. As I've stated before, I don't blame anyone for the information I didn't ask for. In Quixtar ignorance is truly bliss...and a requirement if you ever want to SEE THE DREAM!
Qblog...here is some info for ya.
I talked to my upline diamond to day and asked him some direct questions. He is a tremendous person and gave me strait anwswers.
I do not wish to let you know what organization I am a part of but will say that I believe it is fair for everyone.
Furthermore I will say that we have far less functions and fewer Standing Order Tapes than most organizations.
Here is the info I received.
Around September of 2004 our organization will totally revamp the tool system as we know it. Currently our system IS in compliance with what Quixtar feels is "reasonable" and not "excessive". They also believe that it is the model by which other organizations can learn from.
Here is what will happen around September 2004.
1. Rather than receive SOT's via CD or Tape we will download them from our website.
2. Each IBO will have the option to pay $39/month (estimate) to be a member and take advantage of the website. Currently the website is a great tool for getting function information, documents helpful in building our business, learning about quixtar, and ordering major function tickets. As of right now SOT costs $42/month. With the $39 fee all IBO's will receive access to their SOT and here is where I believe they are "Right On".
3. Each IBO who is a member of the "system" will be able to download an unlimited number of Tapes/CD's for $2/tape.
I believe this to be an excellent program.
I don't have time to get into the rest of the "system" but will tell you that it is not run by 5 or 10 "goodfellas" and the benefits are the same for each person at the level they are at.
Hope that helps.
I don't plan on visitin too often from now on...so if you have any questions...send them directly to my email.
Thanks Qblog!
Oh yeah...almost forgot...As of September 2004 Quixtar will either endorse your system or they will not. They are taking into consideration all of the flaws and all of the excessive spending and, on the other end, profits. As of right now, Quixtar Corporation highly endorses our program.
In September...there will supposedly be a document that further explains the "system" to new IBO's and it's benefits. On this document they will show their endorsement. If a system does not comply...they will receive no such endorsement.
You see Qblog...there are people listening and not ignoring the problem. I think it will be good for everyone.
Maybe we will start to see the "tone" in some of the blogs change over the next few years. Let's hope so. Quixtar is a great business when done properly.
If you are new and reading this...Keep being yourself. Quixtar is a business...not a religion. If you treat it that way you can keep all other areas of your life in balance as well. And PLEASE...don't alienate and stop being friends to the people that do now want to DO Quixtar. If you trea them well regardless of their decision regarding "the business" they will be your biggest fans. I know mine are.
Thanks.
Interesting - Mike IBO....however, here is my problem with what you are saying...by the way, it's World Wide Group, based on your email address....
Currently, access to the WWDB website is $12 per YEAR (I know, I'm in this LOS). This contains all the information you speak of - function info, ticket ordering, etc. So, when Sept rolls around, the cost all of sudden goes up to $39 per month!!! Yup, it's 'optional' alright, but if you DON'T purchase it, you will not have easy access to the information that is currently available for $12 per YEAR. Let's see....$39 x 12 months = $468 year vs. $12 + $504 (SOT @$42 month & $12 web access) = $516 year. Can't you see what they just did? The Puryear Mgt group (including your diamond???) isn't making as much money from the tapes like they used to because people are starting to wake up, so they found a way to circumvent that so they'd get their $$ anyway! You are too gullible. That's not an insult. I was there. And believe me, the sharing of the tool income in WWG is NOT guaranteed based on your level....if you aren't what they want to promote, it doesn't matter what your Quixtar sales are. You are there to market WWG, NOT Quixtar.
disenchanged-IBO
We'll just have to agree to disagree. You and I have different opinions on the value of the system.
Your experience may have been different than mine and that is understandable.
WWDB has helped my business tremendously and I have no problem with the tool profits. I think they are fair and balanced and that is where we will disagree and that's okay with me.
I am not gullible in regards to the tools system.
It seems that no matter what we do...someone is always going to disagree.
Therefore...I'm done offering information.
Good luck to all of you.
Mike,
Do you realize that the diamonds will make more money on tools once they transfer to MP3's?
Why would it be MORE expensive to download WWDB tapes vs. music?
The bottomline is that WWDB (20 diamond leaders) make money even though 95% of the people associated with WWDB lose money every month.
That is not good training or leadership.
"As of right now, Quixtar Corporation highly endorses our program."
Have you personally contacted Quixtar about this? Or just heard it from someone with an authoritive sounding voice?
Take the blinkers off Mike. You're still paying too much. But yes, let's agree to disagree.
Hope your downline has better business sense than you :)
Poe :)
Mike-Quixtar-IBO,
I would agree with you that the 'perception' of value of the 'system' is entirely a subjective thing.
However, the switch to this new method will truly garner increased profits for the WWG. Just as MLMBlog stated.
If you think this is not so, use some simple reasoning - downloading MP3s will be much cheaper than actually producing the physical tapes/CDs. This will allow more net profit to be created.
Additionally, the idea that WWDB will provide you with all of this for one monthly fee, will truly allow for them to lock-in subscribers, as you will not be able to choose or not choose to acquire the CDs or tapes. This will also mean there will be less costs to all levels as the physical tapes/CDs will no longer have to be shipped.
Just follow this chain of thought and you will see the benefits this will bring to WWG. It will be a very handsome gain in profitability.
Hope it is beneficial for you as well. I know that it would not be beneficial for me if I were still on SOT.
Have a good one.
Cliff :-)
I have to laugh, too, when I look at the WWG website. If you are reading about WW, it clearly says that 'most of our profits are invested back into our organization...' yup, true enough...into Ron Puryear's massive River House, used once a year for IBOs, but privately owned, and many of the other Diamond's 'estates' which are offered for tours, again, once a year, but are privately owned...privately owned, I might add, by these same diamonds. So when the tool money increases for these folks, they'll have more things to 'reinvest their profits in!!' More Diamond homes!!!
I would like to start by saying I am in Quixtar, was a Plat. Direct, am NOT active but plan on someday getting active again. I have read many sites and they all focus on what is WRONG. I like the business believe it to be a good oppurtunity. I believe many of the people who write on these sites are just like me. That is why my purpose is to send a message to the leaders. You are losing people like me. If you want a business that will attract and retain hard working, honest, sensible people implement the following!!!
"Everything we offer and do is to help the IBO learn to build an organization that will move product!!"
Solution: For new IBO starter pack of 50 CD/Tapes for $50 (or MP3 downloads)
No longer have a standing order tool!! If you want tools they will be at the monthly meetings at the tables. (if you offer tools via internet NO MONTHLY FEE - this monthly fee is a scam, $1 per download- you can not justify any more cost than $1 per month)
Within the first 30 days the new IBO will learn what they need to know to get to Plat. This info will be in this starter pack. The rest of the tools that flow are scam money!!!
Monthly meetings are important because we as people do our best when we can associate with like minded people. I think of the monthly meetings as a huddle in football. Football teams do not need to huddle but they do for three reasons, organization, internal support, and it makes the coach feel he has control (you laugh but that is important when you are a leader) The cost of these meetings is the result of overhead. Overhead meaning rent for room, payment for speaker. Overhead does not mean your daughter needs voice lessons so you need to raise the ticket price. (personal experience)
One major funtion open to everyone a year, FREE ENTERPRISE day. The other functions need to be specific for pins. For example: For Plat and above only = Summer conf. For Emeralds and above only = winter conf.
This is my solution. I would love to have a leader respond and point out my faults. To everyone who reads this who feels as I do, Let us start a voice of what to do to make this business attractive again. Thanks Coach
I never entered into a contract with Team of Destiny for a return of their profits. I registered on the basis of a return from the Quixtar compensation plan. If I receive a portion of any tools income, that's a bonus. If not, I can't say that I've been deprived since I was never offered, nor have I never asked for, it anyway.
So you're saying there is no contract or that you just haven't demanded to see a copy?
Thanks KB for your story, thanks QBlog for this informative site... I have a friend at work who is into TOD bigtime, he just started about a month ago but is buying all the tapes books materials, and has been asking me to join "the team". I went to the free meeting and had a eerie feeling like something wasn't right with it. The speaker was a giddy idiot who turned me off more than motivated me. He made a statement that he would buy the products and throw them away, or bury them to generate pv. And i recall my friend saying he had 4 unopened boxes of product he purchased... this is crazy, and against the law... atleast 50% of your sales must be purchased through unaffiliated retail. I'm so glad i researched this before giving it a chance. You have to purchase more things than what you need, at a higher price...WOW, scam yourself so you dont feel bad about perpetuating the scam. The only people who are comfortable with this are the ones who lie to themselves, who are good at lying and misleading others... that counts me out.
Can anybody tell me where to find a copy of the quixtar sa-4400?
Good afternoon. Everyone that I have talked to that has been involved with Quixstar or Team Destiny in the past 2-3 years has not made any money. I'd like to invite everyone who looks at this page to view my website . I'm involved with a network marketing company called Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing, Inc. Have you ever heard of it? You will because Forbes Magazine has just rated us the fastest growing company in the United States! Here's the key, it is ground floor. Dun & Bradstreet has given our company a AAAA1 rating, and 98% of the profit comes back to the field. I'm not going to sit here and tell you all the details, but I have one question to ask. Have you ever heard of Paul Orberson? He is our CEO/Founder and made more money than anyone ever in the history of network marketing in a company called Excel Telecommunications back in the '90s. If you are interested in an opportunity and a team that knows what they are doing, then check out my website. More importantly, we have a unique system to build this business from home instead of driving all over the state and flying all over the country to have a "no show." Enough said, check out my website.
Sincerely,

Don't hold your breath, you'll die of asphyxiation before you ever see a copy of a TOD "tool contract".
But, it's a FAIR request...
