Keeping an Open Mind

I received a recording of a message from Larry Winters to his organization. The message was recorded prior to the airing of the Quixtar investigation show by Dateline. Basically, the message characterized the show (without actually having seen it) as a biased attack on Quixtar and would essentially have little impact on the Quixtar business. Larry Winters was briefly featured in a clip on the show but was not interviewed.
I'm posting this message in an edited format. Before you listen to it, you should know that I edited the original 4 minute, 31 second message down to a much shorter length. I don't like editing audio like this but I wanted to eliminate any doubts about whether or not this recording is considered Fair Use. To make my edits clear, I inserted a generic tone at the beginning of each edit. If you wish to believe that I've sliced and diced the audio to distort its true message, that's fine. I probably can't convince you otherwise. For whatever it's worth, I give you my word that I am not attempting to use the edits to mislead or distort the full message.

It is funny how anyone who has anything that can undermine your tool income is considered 'negative'. Of course your job is to control information, and to control peoples minds. Your job is to shut people off from the truth and keep them dependent on your word as if it was the word of God. It was pretty clear from the program with the money falling from the rafters and Mr Britt listing his reasons for gettnig involved in the business, that the only God that Mr Britt worships is money! And you have the audacity to think that you are doing God's work!
There were some serious allegations made, and they were obviously well researched to stand up to potential lawsuits. Prove them wrong Mr Winters and Mr Britt, come out and show us an income statement that disproves the claims. Bet you won't do it, because you would be guilty of fraud!
Dwighty, why do you suppose that your reading of the transcript equates to having seen the episode?
It's similar to a person rendering judgement on an Opera or Musical simply from reading the stage script.
The two are not equal in communication of information.
I do not have a problem with your support of Quixtar, on it's own, but please understand that letting people know about the improper issues surrounding AQMOs and the symbiotic relationship they share with Quixtar & Amway is a good thing. These organizations use people's general need for things and human gullibility to lure them in and sway them. The result is people who associate the AQMOs with Quixtar/Amway. Not that they are the same, mind you, but they are both part of the problem.
By the way, glad to see you posting again. It's good to have you back in the fray.

But are you suggesting I must hear Bo Short's tone of voice to understand his message or intention? Or are you simply stating that Bo Short belongs in an opera?

For those of you who have never met Larry Winters, he is a very religious man and for very good reasons. Go bash your preacher for talking like this if you want to get a rise. If everyone in his business suddenly quit today, it would not bother him income wise because he is free for life. It would bother him on the inside because of those who could have made it to be free from their jobs. He gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities this year alone... how much have you gave? MURDER YOUR ALARM CLOCK!!!
I have a friend in Quixtar, and I am really worried about him and how disillusioned he has become with the process of making a secure source of income. I understand some of what Quixtar is about, I have been to meetings, and if you want to build self-esteem and feel good about yourself your in the right organization. But if you want to make money, that is another story. Good luck folks in Quixtar, but if it's starting to look like it's not working for you and it's been a long time and a lot of money invested, I would take a second look. Thanks.
Everybody needs to calm down. First off, no one is "in" Quixtar. If you're an IBO you are affiliated with the Quixtar website. You also have the opportunity to have an affiliation with an educational/training organization. Regardless, you are a business owner.
For those of you that have seen the plan and claim to have such an understanding of how the "scam" works, did you catch the franchise concept example? Can you successfully run a McDonald's without going to Hamburger University? Will the McDonald's corporation even let you open your doors without attending Hamburger University. No. Then why is there such a backlash against tapes, cd's, books, seminars and functions? They're called tools for a reason. Do you think the people that teach at Hamburger University get paid or do you think they just do it out of the goodness of their heart? Well then why do you think it's so horrible that in a free-enterprise system (which this Country is based on by the way,) that people who have put in the work, achieved the structure and obtained the wealth and lifestyle they are speaking about, shouldn't be paid to teach?
If you are an IBO or a potential IBO looking at the tools side of the business you should be fired up! Do you know that earning money from that side of the business is available to you as well as long as you're a blessing to your upline? If you're wondering if this business is for the select few, you're right, it is for the select few. The difference is that you get to decide if you are a part of that select few or not. Then you get to back that decision up with action.
Are you getting into business to make Larry Winters more money or are you getting in business because you want more in your life? Do you think Larry needs your 100 pv? Wake up. What pays better, 22% of $250 or 4% or $20,000? So, do you think your upline is interested in you going platinum or not? When people decide to actually understand the plan and stop negotiating the price of success; when they decide to stop listening to people that aren't in life where they want to be, that's when you can truly take your shackles off and chase your dream.

First of all according to Quixtar IBO's such as yourself those people are "Broke" or "losers" because they work a regualr job like 95% of most people. Also with how much these "tools" cost, the words "Free Enterprize" seem to be an oxymoron. All you Quixtar people are the same for the most part. You must feel the need to belong to something. Obviously you must not have gotten enough attention growing up and now you feel as if your a part of something special. Just the fact that you people say college is a rip off shows how foolish you are. People who attend colleges get a great education and get fantastic jobs that they should be proud of. How proud are you to be affiliated with Quixtar? I guarantee when you try to prospect someone you don't say I have my own business within Quixtar. Why not? If Quixtar is so credible why are so many IBO's ashamed to admit that they really work for a MLM company.
You can preach all that crap that you hear on motivational tapes. (All they are is motovation they never tell you how to run a business) I'm sorry I'll believe 15Million people before I believe 1,500 IBO's.
IBOs should stop posting and educate people. As a parting message i will say this. I became a business owner with Britt Wordwide and it taught so much that school never taught. I have a Masters from Harvard and they never taught me how to run a business although they said they did.
My friend gave me the same junk when I got started but now he works as an executive in Lehman Brothers. Its 12:21 on Wednesday and let me get out of the bathtub. Ever seen my license plate?...it says IT WORKS!
To hell with you all, we did 1 Billion $ without you and we will do 100 Billion $ without you so you all can go take a flying leap.

This tape doe snot sound like Larry Winters. I have listened to enough of his cds to recognise his voice.
As for quixtar, it rocks buddy! I joined as a student and two years into the business, i m making as much as I would makein my part time income working at school. The best part is that the income is residual.
For anyone who has a problem with quixtar, probably they quit on everythign in life and dont stick to one thing and pursue it till they succeed. I did follow all that was taught and I am doing well in the business.
A few facts for you:
95% of small business ventures fail due to lack of knowledge...regardless of thier excuse.
70% of IBO's never franchise....due to lack of teachability, ambition, and most of all accountability.
Why do the other 20% see growth? Ambition, discipline, persistance, teachability...the list goes on...but narrows down to this.....they let go of thier pride and ego and understand that they dont have all of the answers, and only the successful are qualified to lead the others to success.
And to the comment about "Quixtar is not a church." Yes, I agree. Its not. But if you are familiar with the story of Jesus ...... you would find that when a couple of fishermen gave thier boat for Jesus to use as a platform so His followers could see Him.......thier lives were never the same. Gods Word also says that "My people perish for lack of knowledge" and "Lean not to your own understanding." You are where you are in life because you havent yet discovered how to reach the greater plan that God has for you.
Let me ask this. If a friend of yours lost a race as a track runner does that mean nobody could win? Someone did....why? Because they worked hardest to get there, and never gave up. Dont let the quitters, and people with an outside view blur your judgement. Check it out. If its for you...then see you at the top, if not...then get out and do what makes you happy.
Why is it ok for a college to sell college books for $100-$200 that you may never open and then the school makes money off of them. And then at the end of the semester they won't take them back if it's not in the overwrap. As a matter of fact once you found this out I bet the next day you still went to school and as a matter of fact you probably did not even complain about it. When I got into the business There were no outlandish promises made and as a matter of fact I was told upfront that it was going to take a lot of work. And as a matter of fact I was told about the side tool business. The problem is that A new guy wants to take part in the tool business when he knows nothing and has no team. WHen you build a proper team with proper structure at emerald you can share in the profits of the tool business because you have made it to a point where you know how to build teams of leaders and know you can share that info. It's like if you showed up the first day of claass asking the teacher how you can get his paycheck without going through school and getting the knowledge. It is so amazing how many people really have no common sense. I mean you buy cds and books all the time and money is made and you dont complain about that. You may go to a motivational seminar and the speaker makes money and you don't complain about that. What about when you work harder than your boss and he's on vacation and your in the office slaving away. You don't complain about that. And he makes more money than you and you can never make what he makes. He will fire you before that happens. In quixtar I see downline making more money then there upline all the time. As a matter of fact, I sat around in this business and did nothing for two years and did nothing but watched to see if it was a scam. And you know what, people that got in when I got in are now on stage speaking. I wasted time. It amazes me the people who get in do nothing, dont read books to better themselves, dont listen to cd's, dont follow the game plan set out and then quit and blame it on quixtar. The books we read are books that anybody at any successful corporation has read.
I mean I would not believe it either except I get checks and before I got checks I saw other really big checks from my upline straight from the mailbox. Nobody has ever told me that building the business was easy. And I have not spent anywhere close to 20,000 or 30,000. Thats just an obscene amout of exaggeration. As a matter of fact if you spent that you are a moron. Most people aren't willing to work hard and thats why they sqeak right back to the job and force their family to take mediocre vacations, and where old clothes. It's so amazing how people are decieved. But don't take m y word, talk to Bill Gates or Michael Dell and ask them what they went thorught to build their corporations. It will blow your mind
