Jenn Lackey writes about Dean Kosage
By QBlog in
Well, it's been less than 48 hours since I mentioned Dean Kosage in a post about Quixtar Personal Home Pages and my site is now a top-ranked Google search result for his name and surprisingly, people are searching for Kosage info (my site stats now reveal that fact).
I'd never heard of the guy before Sunday and still know very little about him but I did find an interesting article by Jenn Lackey from Sept., 2002. It's titled The Art of Selling Faith and describes Lackey's experience of being prospected by a Quixtar IBO and her impressions of her first Quixtar meeting. And guess who the featured speaker was at that Quixtar meeting. That's right, Dean Kosage.
It was time for Mr. Dean Kosage to be introduced. The crowed erupted in applause as the blond, good-looking and well-dressed Kosage strutted out onto the stage.Obviously Lackey wasn't impressed with Kosage. Also, she mentioned that he was blond. His picture on the WWG site shows him as being dark-haired (black or dark brown). Could Lackey have seen some other guy named Dean Kosage that night? Or maybe she has a bad memory? Or maybe Kosage dyes his hair or bleached it back in 2002?What was supposed to be a 45-minute speech ended up being a three-and-half-hour-long sermon about attitude, values and the importance of making money. According to Kosage, a supposed millionaire, we could easily be rich beyond our wildest dreams. We just needed to have faith in our ability to live an easier life. "I’ve made more than I ever imagined. I’ve done nothing special but have the guts to try," preached Kosage. "I’m here to empower you, to make you walk out of here and realize you’re a lot smarter than you think."
Interlaced among his ambiguous topic points were cult-like religious undertones and degrading insults. We were told, for instance, that our parents had brainwashed us to work 40-hour-long weeks. "Unfortunately, some of you have been raised by loving parents who are incredibly stupid. And you don’t like hearing it, but it’s the truth," Kosage said defiantly. "You’re going to have to realize that you’ve grown up with a victim attitude. Quite honestly, you’ve learned the language of losers."

I'd be interested to know more about the the newscaster from channel 8.
I might have some info he could use. Write me.
I went to high school with his brother Dan. I know that he is a Ruby or an Emerald in the business too. Is it possible it was him?
I've reviewed the story "The Art of Selling Faith" at best it should be retracted for being so one-sided and inaccurate. Opinions on a businesses or even an individual reeks of gossip or a tabloid when not back up with real facts.
She failed to point out the projections that Microsoft has for the company or how they rank financially compared to other companies (they were more profitable then Starbucks in 2002) or other dot com’s (i.e. #1. Health and Beauty web site; according to business 2.0 mag.) Instead she goes off on a wordy, but shallow evaluation.
Consider the source, I am truly sorry she was out of work but couldn't she have filled her time by looking for a career, doing quality research or starting a business? Why on earth did she have to take her misfortune out on the rest of us by using her free time to write propaganda and post it to the web?
Lackey’s article was found seriously lacking.
That article was very one sided and sounds completely uneducated. It's remarkable how negitive people can become when the truth is put in their face. If somebody was to actually talk to Dean, spend time at his house and around his friends and family you would know that the business is for real, and so is he. The gym works-People don't. That's the exact same with this businesses, and it's proven.
Dean is the man. Anyone that will take the time to actually listen to what he says and take it to heart will realize that. Don't be jealous of a truly successful man but instead drop your ego and listen...you might just learn something. Instead of criticizing Dean for doing something out of the ordinary: helping others succeed and grow, stop and look at yourself and your own career. Start by criticizing yourself and your own stupid decisions and maybe you will realize that you wish you had a friend like him. The time that people put into making these ignorant sites could have been spent building people's lives and dreams. I truly feel sorry for the people who need to express their unjustified anger on worthless internet sites. Read the Art of Happiness by Dalai Lama, drop your anger, get over it, and truly understand what is causing this anger: most likely your laziness and unwillingness to be what you could be.
Funny how everyone loves the movie the matrix and even has a "cult" following.
Yet when some one stands on a stage and "preaches" the same thing they are considerd by some to be some kind of leader of a band of whackos.
I am not in Quixtar, yet I believe it is and always will be a great business.
No matter who is on stage.Grow up.
I believe the lady was a little off track on her attack on Dean. I have known him for about 15 years and he speaks his mind but he has learned how to teach people how to make money from some of the best teachers in the world. She might have seen his brother Dan at the meeting because Dean has been dark brown or black headed for the last 15 or so years. I am not in his business because I have another successful business but I definitely use some of the same strategies and they work. Give him another chance and be a little more open minded and get a job in the mean time. The business he teaches works but he teaches a 2-5 year plan. If it doesn't work for you in 2-5 years you either gave up too soon or did not listen.
Sincerely
Thomas Broome
I spent 5 years in WWDB or "The Business" as we called it then. After leaving is when my education really began. I found it much easier to build a more conventional sales and recruiting oriented business without the stigma or the cost of the system. I finally took a good look at the flawed business model I was trying to succeed in and I decided to move on. The thousands of dollars a year an IBO is spending on the WWDB system can be invested in something a lot more profitable. I welcome any diamond wannabes to debate this.
As far as Dean goes I was sponsored by one of his Ruby directs. Dean is not who he portrays himself to be at all. After 5 years of knowing him. I found him to be manipulitive, dishonest, arrogant, and to have severe social problems. It took me a couple months of being away from the Amway foot soldiers constatantly worshiping him to come to this opinion. This proved to be correct after I was shown a website with testomony involving Deans divorce.
I was in Dean's business for about 6 years. I spent time at his house and road around with him in his car quite a few times. The more I was around him the more I realized this guy has some major issues. He told me and my friend that we should feel priveleged to be riding with him in his car. Every house he had at the time, he was renting but told everyone that he owned them. Every board plan he ever did was so filled with outrageous lies about his life and the lives of other big Pins. The pressure to buy books and tapes was incredible. I started poking around about the mark up of these products and was told I was out of place to be asking quuestions. It cost about $1.32 to produce a tape at that time and we were paying over $7.00. Any real money these guys make are from selling you the system. The tapes say the exact same thing everytime just buy different people, if the information is so good shouldn't you really be able to build the business on say maybe just one months standing order? People that are still in the business need to wake up from their Active 8 induced comas. It shouldn't be called Quixtar. It should be called "The Island!"
Sounds like Kosage.. Uneducated business wannabe. He works 60 hours a week in his business but somehow he forgets to mention that.. WHo is brainwashed the executive living on Lake Washington or Kosage living in Tacoma (wowwee) divorced and a slave to money... Too bad he does not have a college degree to show that he has discipline
Dean is a fraud. Everything he ever told/sold us turned out to be false. He says he's a millionaire...not true. Says he's moral...REALLY not true. Says he can help you make money....COMPLETELY UNTRUE. He's in it for himself only.

Dean Kosage is the man most people dnt know he is awesome person, along with matt tsuruda his bro those 2 mens can do anything and everything the every man wants... please stop hating and start participating... For those who work 40 hours a week ! get a life!!!
Well I can see now that it is true. there are lovers and haters out there and the person who posted this article is clearly a hater. A story always has 2 sides, don't be ignorant and just put 1 side out there for everyone on the internet to read. I don't know Dean, but i have heard him speak in person and on tapes and to think or post something on the internet bashing him without even getting to know him is completely ignorant.
Looks like there are plenty of people who know him and have posted negative comments about his ethics. Did you not read the comments?
Very interesting to read all of these comments -mostly from those who were in Dean's business and now see him for what he is / was. I was in another line of sponsorship (from Kosage) for, oh, 10 years. it was a great learning experience and there were lots of people that impacted me positively. I thought Dean was a tremendous speaker and a charismatic leader. In short (no pun intended) i thought Dean was an exceptional leader and i enjoyed his board plans. As they say, he was "sharp". Likewise, I'm sure lots of people thought Idi Amin or Jim Jones had their positive traits as well (i just read the Dean Kosage Divorce stuff). The propoganda in the Business is very thick and the dirty little secret is that it's a bloody hard business to make work, that the guys who make big bank are always tied to their business like a ball and chain, and that there is no true "walk away income" unless you've just written something like "Sergaent pepper's lonely heart club band" or something truly residual. The funny thing is that most emeralds and diamonds have little or no downtime since they're always working the business on others schedules - evenings and weekends.
We just had our own "moving up weekend" where a group of 4 couples (former IBO's in the Duncan line)went to a cabin on a lake and we just had a smashing time. No propoganda, no rhetoric, just lots of laughs and stories about the old days and wearing business suits in Portland in July / August. On top of that, we weren't prospecting and FORM'ing every person that sold us a gallon of milk and trying to get their name and phone number so we could ring them up and see if "they were looking".
If you're struggling with the business and want to get out, don't wait a few more years. There is success beyond the walls of the compound. It may not look like World Wide's , Amway's or Quixtar's version of success but don't worry - their version doesn't look like what they're promoting either. If you want to spend the rest of your days meeting stiff opposition across the table for a cup of coffee late night at a Denny's, then keep on keeping on and ain't it great. But, if the business makes you miserable with self loathing about how you just need to apply yourself and yadda yadda yadda, then take a break and see how it feels without the millstone around your neck. You don't need to be a diamond to be a success in life.

Kosage is the biggest WANNABE in business History... He is so insecure. He is also a slave to money, working 60 hours a week in the business..
Let the facts speak.

...are dead on. I was in Dean's Seattle entourage for a number of years. His attempts at giving marriage counselling to people are legendary (in his own mind). Manipulation, guilt & flat out lying are the tools of his trade, ones that he's honed to a sharp edge. Been to the houses...rented.
Been to the board plans...insulting (now that the manipulative hold is gone I see it for what it was). In the years since I left (about 6), prosperity has left her mark on my life in numerous ways. Yes Dean, financial prosperity too. Since he and his troupe only measure success financially I included that for him/them.
The one guy I couldn't understand (as to why he still hangs on) is Dave Trinh. What a sharp guy, who has it all outside of 'Quix-way'. Lost contact, hope he & his great family finally moved on. But since they moved into the same area as Dean's brother Dan, doubtful.
...OK, back from watching a YouTube video of Dean. Looks like the message hasn't changed. It would be (sad) & interesting to count the dead bodies left in Dean's wake over the years. Hundreds if not into the thousands I would estimate.
Would have loved to have been at your 'movin up' weekend Lee. Oh the stories...
Dean, no ill will harbored here (as if you'd care?). That law of compensation you love to quote? It's headed for your doorstep on day and she ain't coming for tea.
