Prospecting Sucks!
By QBlog in
Prospecting Sucks is a Web site that sells a book of the same name (love the name). The site claims the book is packed with "Real World, Useful Strategies and Ideas! I'm no grammarian but isn't that a misplaced comma? I mean, is the site claiming the book is packed with Real World? I don't know. (UPDATE: It's grammatically correct but it seems to be poorly worded IMHO)
Anyway, the author, Dan Kennedy, says he paid over $11,000 for the info in the book and ended up grossing over $7.1 million in the "last couple of years" because of the info. Yowza! The book costs $18.95 and includes Free Shipping. A bargain!
It's always fascinated me how many people who are NOT Quixtar IBOs are selling products to help Quixtar IBOs improve their business. I mean, if their info is THAT good and valuable then why not become an IBO and make millions by becoming a Diamond and teaching those methods to your downline? That type of residual income would certainly be more valuable than selling some book from a Web site... right?

Thanks Mr. Grammar. While it may be grammatically correct it's a clumsy way to word it. I would have worded it as "Useful, Real World Strategies and Ideas." Just seems to flow better to me. Oh well.
This doesn't go along with today's topic, but here goes anyway.
My previous upline diamond is planning another of those women's shopping trips. Say shopping, I'm there, but not in the Quixtar organization. You have to meet certain requirements to be able to go which include doing one of 3-5 ways to qualify.
To qualify you can earn so much PV, do Artistry beauty breaks, stuff like that to earn PV. So you earn your way to shop and pay for a hotel room, as well.
They play it up with their rah-rah crap so that you will enjoy shopping with your upline pins and watch them shop if you don't have any money. Oh yipee. You don't have any money to shop because you've spent it to qualify for the damn trip to watch your uplines spend your money which has trickled up to them.
Yo dude,
Didn't you just use "they're" - as in "they are" - when you probably meant to say "their".
Didn't I just say I'm no grammarian? Thanks for the heads up. What would I do without my grammar pals?
Over the years I've often thought the same thing Q.
If Q/A is so good a deal why aren't THEY involved?

Hey Lisa, why don't you just SELL the products? Then you'd have the PV and money to shop with.
I don't blame you for not thinking about that, since you don't seem to think all that much when it comes to business, except for when you're conjuring some new way to insult the despotic "Quixtar Organization," apparantly.
Oh, by the way, I meant to ask, just what is this elusive "Quixtar Organization?" I've never heard of it.
Dwighty,
Most if not all of the products are overpriced and my conscience would not let me promote them knowing that you could get them cheaper elsewhere, even the cosmetics can be purchased at a major department store cheaper.
The people in groups (uplines with downlines) which make up an organization promote the Quixtar business. There is not much info, or personal representatives from the Quixtar company that come to the meetings/functions, so most people may think the organizations which teach people how to show the plan promoting Quixtar, is Quixtar.
First point is your prerogative only. I have not seen Artistry products in any of the stores I've been to and I've been to a lot. So I can't say I agree with you there. Not only that, but I've not had a single complain from ANY of my customers about the quality or the price of the cosmetics I sell, only praise. So we can throw out opinions day in and day out if you want, but it'll get you nowhere, just as assuming your opinion is the law of the land will get you nowhere.
Your second point is equally as silly. It's not Quixtar. You were an idiot to think so, if you thought so. The information you'd need to know the truth is right on the Quixtar website. So don't go blaming the organization for your lack of researching skills.
I'm confused...which really doesn't take much.
Dwighty, Are you pro or negative Quixtar?
I see comments that make me think (and I hate doing that) you are on both sides?
Are you pro Quixtar and just negative of some of the uplinesor organizations?
I'm not asking this to critisize just wanted to understand your postings a little better.
As far as my thoughts on this topic...Haven't read the book but I came across it on a sales web site and then lost track of it so now maybe I can take a look.
By the way..prospecting sucks in "Non"-MLM sales as much as MLM sales also!
Happy New Year.
Just to clear up what I meant, I meant one could get other cosmetic brands equal to Artistry cheaper at the local department store.
No I did not think the organization that introduced us to Quixtar was Quixtar. After spending 3 years with that organization, it has been refreshing to find places to air what thoughts and observations I had about my experience with it. It's like being in a dysfunctional family where you cannot really say what is on your mind because no one wants to hear the obvious. No negative talk, only positive. You're getting divorced, oh so sorry, but I gotta go build my business. Your son is graduating? Will he really remember if you were there or not because you went to an organization function to teach you how to build your Quixtar business? That's the turn offs for me.
Anyway, these are just my experiences and opinions. Good luck to those of you who build the business.

Lisa if you come on to this site can you check you e-mail Thanks

THis is the first time I have been to this site. I am in the Xango business which is booming. I am excited about building my downline and was thinking about buying the book Prospecting Sucks. Do you think it is a good inverstment. We have been having meetings and I have 123 people joining this method but is there better ways.
typo, prospecing
Mr. Grammar says:
It is not improper to use commas to divide coordinate adjectives. Since "real world" and "useful" are adjectives modifying "strategies," a comma is appropriate. However, I believe "real world" is supposed be hyphenated when used as an adjective.
