UPDATE: Quixtar got wise this morning. They took the link down. I'm sure my link and resulting referrer log pings alerted them to the problem. Or maybe they just remembered. Oh well, either way here are the actual copies of the letters:
Quixtar Response to Dateline NBC
-----------------------------
Ok, as you may or may not know Quixtar's Dateline NBC Response page (QuixtarResponse) posted a copy of the letter it received from Dateline as well as the letter it sent in response. I mentioned this on the 12th though I don't know how long it was up before that date. Well now, for reasons we can only imagine, Quixtar has removed the link to Dateline's letter.
Or so they thought. In a classic display of Quixtar's inability to understand the Web (as I've mentioned here many times before) they removed the page from their servers (originally called DatelineLetter.asp) but neglected to remove the friggin' image from the servers. And here is a link to the Dateline Letter image though I don't know how long it will be before they figure this out. I did save a copy on my computer so I'll have a permanent copy up soon.
How did I figure this out? Well, it was pretty easy actually, thanks to Quixtar's detailed naming conventions. You see, the image path to the image they left linked was the exact same as the Dateline letter. See. So, I just changed the name of the image from QuixtarResponse_1.gif to DatelineLetter.gif. No brainer right?
So, I say again. If you gonna be an E-Commerce business (or I-Commerce as they call themselves now) then you should at least understand what you're doing. It's all about the details stupid.

Do people make money off of the training materials? Of course they do. Do colleges earn profits? Do authors and publishers of textbooks make profits? Of course they do. The difference is that the books and tapes are generated by millionaires, rather than a $40,000 per year college professor. Do colleges and textbooks teach you how to become rich? No. Do the creators of the training tapes teach you on how to successfully run your business? Yes.
A five year education can cost up to $30,000+ dollars and get you a job making $25,000 per year. Two to five years as an independent business owner may cost $3,000 to $8,000 dollars but can generate $100,000+ per year of residual income. As an employee you trade time for money. As an IBO you invest time for money. As an employee you are paid as much as that position is worth. As an IBO you are paid according to your personal performance.
Through the training systems you can stand on the shoulder of giants and learn from people who are successful in the business and successful in life. You receive mentorship, a training system, and association with successful people with world class morals. Instead of wasting time attempting to bring down training systems that make a positive difference in people’s lives, Dateline should be focusing on improving our education system. Go to school, get good grades, and get a secure job is a plan for the past. The education system is important but it does not teach people on how to start and run a successful business. Also, there is no such thing as a secure job. While companies are outsourcing and downsizing, the teams of independent business owners are upsizing. The IBOs have vested interest in assisting you in becoming successful - a win-win situation.
As an employee, there is no win-win situation and companies are not going to teach you on how to start and run a business. If they did you will become their competition. Quixtar is not a pyramid. The people I sponsor can earn more money than I do - if they do the work. The reason some people don't succeed is because they give up, take shortcuts, or do not follow the training system. We don't make a big deal about thousands of businesses that fail each year or businesses that do not make money. It's like a person purchasing a McDonalds franchise and not following the proven business system. Some franchise owners make more money than others. Why isn't Dateline telling that story? Popular opinion attempts to tell average people who have a dream that you cannot do it. We say you cannot take the dream away from us. It’s a consumer rebellion, leadership revolution.
A true pyramid is corporate America. The president earns the most, and then CEOs, then management, so on and so on. It is impossible for 99% of the employees to ever earn more than a President or CEO unless they become one. In most companies even a CEO will not teach an employee on how to become a CEO - they don't want that person taking their job. At Quixtar, the person who sponsors you can make up-to 4% off your 28%. If person A sponsors 10 people including person B and person B sponsors 100 people then person B makes more money than the person that sponsored him. As an employee the people above you earn more money, at Quixtar you can earn more than the person above you.
Lastly, there are people who become independent business owners and earn way above the average diamond. They also put more effort into building their business. Compare two similar businesses, for example a landscaping business. If one owner works harder and smarter than the second owner, his business will be more successful.
Here is a challenge for Dateline. Instead of attempting to find bad in something good, go investigate companies who are downsizing thousands of jobs and outsourcing American jobs to foreign companies. We IBOs take pride in helping other people succeed and that we are upsizing while the rest of corporate American is turning its back on Americans. Better yet, have the CEOs of dateline run a special on exactly what a person needs to do to start and run a network news business.
At College you pay tuition. Colleges have overhead. Professors deserved to get paid. There is not an issue there.
But I can't think of one College that will hide it's idenity and induce you to attend by promising you that you will make $250,000 a year, attending part time after your Freshman year.
Yes, you have to buy books etc to go to College and learn.
But a College doesn't say you have buy a certain new textbook or book on tape every week from just one professor or you'll never graduate.
And you don't have to continue to buy books from the College once you graduate.
And a college doesn't care if you buy that book new or used, from the book store or the internet.
And at College you can sell that book back when your done.
I have never seen a business card from a College graduate that says "BSBA Business School" No they put the name of the College "BSBA, Harvard School of Business"
They don't use the "curiosity" approach
They don't have to.
Thank you Jamie for shedding some light on these peple trying to put down the quixtar system. I am an IBO and agree on teh same points you do. That is why it does not even bother me when people slander and try to talk bad about the great things we are doing and are going to do for america. I beleive that you will all see a change in our economy and society because of quixtar, an opportunity to create income buying from a different store.. and telling others about the 'sale' prices you can get..along with a bonus check!...it just makes sense.
