Quixtar Indians
By QBlog in
This site has been getting a lot of visits from people doing a Google Search for "quixtar indians" and I'd like to know why. So, if you are here because of searching for "Quixtar Indians" can you please leave a comment saying exactly what you are looking for? Is Quixtar the name of some obscure Native American tribe or something? Apache, Seminoles and Quixtar.
Comments
Asian Indians are probably the fastest growing group in Quixtar. Primarily on the east coast. Way to go guys!
Yes, I have also searched quixtar Indians and ended up here. It seems lately many Indians are doing quixtar business and they approach to you in stores, malls or in any public places. Personally, I don't like the way quixtar business is done and it alienates you from you friends and family who don't agree with you. So I just wanted to see what Indians are doing as far as quixtar is concerned and is everyone having same experience as me. BTW, there is a really good site which explains Quixtar very well and it also has ppl's feedback abt this business (salespeople network). Its www.amquix.info
I looked up "quixtar indians" because 90% of the attendees at the Quixtar event I attended were Indians (from India).
There are Quixtar IBOs who try to recruit you in supermarkets (sometimes Asian/Indian stores) and they act really nice to you and persuade you to go to their 'seminars' or 'event for entrepreneurs'.
It's fun *chuckle* to go to these events once and see how professional the scam is becoming.
However, it is sad to see so many Indians have fallen prey to the 'get rich quick' dream that doesnt exist.
Come on you Indians.. get a life.. you are supposed to one of the most hardworking race in America... live upto your name and dont get fooled.
Watch out for Indian people approaching you in Philadelphia/NYC/Boston, introducing themselves as CEOs of their own businesses etc.....
I was lured into quixtar by a pakistani who LIED about his income, and told me I can make the same, after a while we became friends and he told me his real income which is really $50 a month and told me his upline told him to set up this scam, damn people are living on lies making the big boys rich further, get a life
Way to go indians
we are everywhere
let me correct it, we are only there, where the money is.
whether is being a computer pro, doctor, engineer, accountant, stores, motels, etc.
QUIXTAR is again a place where a lot of money can be made.
why not join it?
This is the greatest opportunity on the face this planet. If you want to find bad things about anything you will find it on internet. Be honest to yourself and see whether you are financially safe working in a job for the rest of your life. Can your family survive if you were fired from job and dont have a job. Can you risk or invest huge money in business in today's environment where the technology is fast changing and business are closing down. This is the low risk and high income potential for everyone who is willing to work together as a team. No job or conventional business will provide such a safe environment of making money and making you financially secured and successful. Be brutally honest with you, your finance and your family !! Thats all it takes for you to be successful in this venture.
yes, i googled for quixtar indians and ended up here. looks like a nice site to expose this scam. i was hounded by indians (iam an indian) @ walmarts/borders etc... Finally, i decided to go to one of their sessions. there were lot of rich people (atleast, they said so) and they make you feel like ur life on this planet is vegetative if you don't join quixtar. One thing that was common was that, everyone you meet at the meeting would suggest you to not talk to ur frnds and family abt the business (according to quixtar ,"they will steal your dream") One of the persons even had the gall to refer me to the FCC site. if you check the FCC site, it won't take u very long to figure out this organized scam. Nobody can build ur dreams and quixtar can definitely not.
I googled quixtar indians cos I am a student and am stuck with a roommate who is sold on quixtar.I was honored with a visit from a "business associate" who spent nearly 3 hours trying to convince me that all my dreams would come true...interestingly not once did he mention what "The Business" entailed...And the only way I could get into this elusive circle was if I shelled out 100 bucks for some conference where I get to interact with multi millionares who would spend time to teach me the tricks of the trade......I said NO but ended up feeling sorry for my roomie who has been in this for just a month....I did some research on the net, read the "Merchants of Deception" and it was all deja vu..the talk, the comparison with McDonalds, not mentioning even once about the comoany's name or what needs to be done to get to the "Diamond levels"....
I have also listened to the tapes my roomie plays every evening with utmost diligence, they dont shed much light on the business either and the whole PV thing....she doesnt even know what its all about but she does rehearse the script and then spends weekends trying to get recruits in the mall or at walmart....its pathetic to see her and I just feel its rotten and its sucks that they are targetting indian students now...we are already kinda on the poor side...... I was surprised at how the guy (and his wife ..ofcourse) assured me that this was legal!!!! I mean an international students arent allowed to work outside their university leave alone "operate an independent business"..........Well what can I say....Merchants of Deception indeed...
I was approached by a very friendly Indian at a local supermarket two days back (Boy, did he have extremely honed skills) and ended up talking to him for nearly 30 minutes. I am not sure what his agenda is (I knew that he was trying to sell something, just wasn't sure what it was). After getting my phone number (Stupid stupid me), he promised to keep in touch. La ter,I talked to a good friend of mine, who alerted me to the Quixtar scam prevalent in the Indian student community in these parts (I am from a University town, btw). I have not received a call yet from this potential scammer, but am planning my defensive strategy for when I do. May be I will try to sell him my own fictitious Ponzi scheme. International reply coupons ....
I'm looking for some real proof that quixtar is illegal or scam ..how come US govt tolerate a business like this if its illegal and if lots of indians who primarily are in work visa or student visa is doing something illegal - they will be deported ( that too in post 911 era)
if the peple who say that quixtar is a cam ..can they publish their contact information so that I can verify the facts for myself ? if there is no hard facts will they just shut the f*** up ?
quixtar is mainly for INDIAN LOSER STUDENTS living in suburban university towns and have nothing better to do with their dumb lives. Yes i am in indian too, and i loathe these idiots who spoil our name in the US...get a life you quixtar dicks....
This is so true i was apart of this promising to make money scam. I am happy that a handfull of people are making money but 99% are making high school kid money. It breaks you from your friends and family and teaches that they are right and everyone else is wrong. I was apart of Quixtar for about 8 months and never even broke $250 dollars in a single month which was also what it cost to buy the stupid junk that they sold that no one wants and is not even a good deal. Such a waste of time and money. If you really want to make money you need to look at a ligit company not a revamp of AMWAY and check out a New York Stock exchange company like PRE_PAID LEGAL. They actually pay you and there are not millions of indians. I realize that its hard to grasp at first but they pay you think about it. Check it out Prepaidlegal.com. Don't take my word for it do your do diligence.
I had the misfortune of bumping into one of these guys at Fry's electronics. Although I run a very successful DRP business in the valley, I am always interested in new ventures. The scam has changed dramatically, to a "business Plan" methodology; it lures you into a mindset that this is a "Start-Up" with a proven model. Well if you buy into it, then your F'd. I've seen several folks that were in Amway loose everything, including their marriage. These MLM scam are getting better all the time. The meeting I attended was full of sharply dressed Indians and Filipino’s. The moment I saw the presenter start defining the concept, I got up and walked out. As I was walking out, the “Double Diamond tried to stop me, and told me sit down. The guy and his wife, said don’t you want to make a 250K, and I repeated by saying “NO I already make 500K a year working an average 50 hour week; and I’m satisfied with what I’m doing. These Indians are getting just a sleazy and some the old Amway folks. I mean, whatever happened to just working hard and caring for your family. Yes, I admit, I have it better than the next guy, but I started out working my ASS off and never tried to screw someone over.

quixtar is waste of time, money and everything. only guys on top make mones. its illegal for indians to do quixtar business if they are in any "Non-Immigrant" Visa.
one of my friend became siver level( he is on H1 work visa) instead of getting money from quixtar, he gets money from his sponser as its illegal for him to get the money. His sponsor would not pay actual bonus amount if my friend did not do enough tool business( like selling tapes, books seminar tickets instead od quixtar products). finally he quit. now suffering as he wasted valuble day and nights in walmart or costco trapping people
It is really good that you put the name as the site as webraw.com. I see that what u guys are talking is just brawing. You really do not qualify to talk about the quixtar business. Indians in US!!! this business is 100% legal and without knowing completely about something do not pass negative about a great opportunity which is helping many people to make their dreams come true. I am a single girl, a student on F1. I built a huge business in 23 different countries just by staying naive and just doing what the system suggests me to do. I also submit my tax returns which say that the business is 100% legal. I am graduating next semester and listen I make a full time income income out of this business even without getting a full time job! This business definitely works for people who really dream big and who are willing to work hard. Dont pass negatinve about something which you do not qualify to speak about!
What do we do when something new is put forth before us we reject it and call it a scam? For all you poor corporate workaholics out there, if you don't think your part of one big corporate scam then wake up and smell reality. Look at how you are being taken advantage of at work. You think by getting a paycheque the company is doing you any good. Gimme a break. The company you work for or will work for in the near future is making millions of dollars of you and guess what, the day they stop making money of you, your not gonna be paid. Quixtar is a private franchising business, something they never teach you in school. All they teach you in school is get a 4 year degree, get a job, work for the next 40-50 years and you will live a very successful life...no stress, no financial constraints, plenty of time and a great retirement. Gimme a break...Next time someone tells you something is a scam. Think about who it is that is talking to you. Is he a wealthy, successful, financially secure individual or a poor cubicle dweller who slaves for his boss and a company for the next 50 years of his/her life. Talk about scams...you're living one right now.
And yeah for those of you who think this is a pyramid scheme, or multi-level marketing scheme think about who is making the most money in your business or corporation at your expense and how is your corporation set-up both financially and structurally...yes...picture it...that's correct a pyramid. If roles had been reversed and they had taught a four year degree in private franchising in school no one would have worked for a corporation. The business works, it has always worked and will continue to work. Quixtar has business partners like IBM, Barnes and Nobles, Circuit City, AVIS and the list goes on. Sure one day these corporations (who by the way have the most successful line of lawyers in their legal system) one fine day just decided to get online and partner with the biggest scam on the internet. Cmon guys, talk and think sensibly. You want facts..check with the better business bureau or the FTC. They'll set the record straight. Franchising is a brilliant concept that helped Ray Croc (founder of Mcdonalds) establish a foundation for himself and his family. He's dead and his estate and family making over a billion dollars and guess what he did not lie cheat or steal from anyone to establish his business. If he did, no one would ever eat at Mcdonalds. Moreover his family is more secure than any of the families of you critics out there who says this so called "scam" breaks apart families. If you really care about your family, you will do what it takes to make them successful. If you don't wanna join this business...don't. Its not for everyone. Don't go posting stuff you don't know. How many people do you know that make a lot of money and have a lot of time. What ? Only Elvis comes to mind and he's dead too. I know more than you can ever count, and they're all successful enterpreneurs in this business and guess what? every single one of them had to work hard to get to where they are. They've worked just as hard and are just as dedicated at what they do as you cubicle dwellers. The difference is they've reached their goals in less ( might I say much much less) time than you ever will.
Good luck and God Bless.
For the people that posted saying, "you are not qualified to speak about something you don't know", you should understand the basic problem with why people think this is a scam. There are reasons. But before I get into them let me say this - When my parents, aunts, and uncles moved here from India in the 1970s, they were also approached by fellow NRI (non-resident Indians) about joining an MLM for cosmetics and other products. They all thought it was the most amazing thing, except my mom. So, my mom and dad did not join... but my aunts and uncles did. My aunts and uncles worked hard but wound up losing money and breaking lots of friendships. My point - new immigrants come here looking for the American dream, and many find it. But some immigrants let their guard down and follow evangelistic propositions of fortune. In addition, they have not been exposed to organized schemes from large companies with real revenue such as Quixtar's parent company. I feel bad for my fellow Indians.
Now why people think this is a scam - The fundamental reason is that MLM inherently causes market saturation. In other words, there are only a finite number of people who will buy products from quixtar and once that limit is reached, whoever signed up towards the end will have a hard time recruiting more people. Read more about it here:
http://www.vandruff.com/mlm.html
The biggest problem then is when is that limit reached? Well, nobody can tell... people will just keep trying. In a typical business model, you typically know what your "SAM" or Served Available Market. SAM is what is spent by companies or individuals today on comparable products or services that you are preparing to sell. No IBO seems to realize that the SAM for health and beauty products is essentially stagnant so when you add more franchises (more people signed up to Quixtar) ultimately some franchises will experience very little revenue.
"Served Available Market" SAM, "Market Saturation" ....wow some very politically correct terms.
Think for yourself...don't just blindly read and post.
Quixtar is a distributor, just like Walmart and not just health and cosmetics. Walmart or any successful distributor (like your article reports)is not going to retail products that are not generating any revenue for them which is why they will never reach so-called "market saturation".
Quixtar is billion dollar debt free business that's topped sales and revenue increase for the last 5 years of operation that it has come to existence.
Go to Forbes Fortune 500 and look for the top companies. There's a sort by feature where you can sort by revenue and gross profit percentage increase and you will see Alticor (Quixtar's Parent Company) having the greatest increase in sales and revenue compared to any company from the last year and the most of any distributor in 5 years of operation. It has kept increasing its sales every year on a monstrous scale in comparison to any other distributor in the market. why ? Surely there's more to the company than just health and cosmetics.
Like Chris said stores like IBM, Barnes and Nobles, AVIS, Circuit City, VISA are all partnering with Quixtar to create volumes of business for them...store for more having thousands of brand name products. Cell phone companies...Sprint, Cingular, Nextel, T Mobil...the list is endless.
As an IBO I get tremendous deals on all products! And get money back!!!!
Market Saturation...wow...what's the next excuse?

TEAM WORK MAKES THIS DREAM WORK! LET'S GET STARTED: Send a $5.00 dollar donation from your PayPal account to THE FIRST e-mail address on the list along with a note saying "Please add me to your list".
Now send the other $5.00 donation and an e-mail to the 5th person on the list saying "Thanks I've joined". Remove the 1st e-mail address and place your address at the bottom. This moves the 2nd to 1st, 3rd to 2nd, 4th to 3rd, and the 5th place into 4th.
DO NOT TRY TO PLACE YOURSELF IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT WILL ONLY REACH THE PEOPLE YOU SEND IT TO, AND THEN YOUR NAME WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LIST! If you do this the way it was designed it will reach thousands b y the time your name gets to the top. REMEMBER TO SEND a $5.00 dollar
donation to the 1st e-mail address and the message “Please add me to your list, and send an email with the words "THANKS I'VE JOINED" and the other $5.00 donation to the 5th person. This lets the 5th person keeps track of progress of the letter and continue to send out more emails.

3.bopsnorky@aim.com
4.phillyzues@yahoo.com
5.rajvcp@hotmail.com
Now that you have paid the 1st person and 5th person & sent them both an email & a note, place your e-mail address in the 5th place. (Make sure it's the same e-mail address that you used to open your PayPal account). This is the way you will receive payment.
OK, the only thing left to do is to mail out at least 20 copies of this letter. It is the job of the 5th person on the list to ensure there are at least 20 "thank you I joined" replies. The fifth person is the guardian of the system! If there are not at least 20 replies then the fifth person will keep sending the letter until there is.
MAKE SURE YOU SEND $5 DOLLARS TO THE FIRST PERSON TO THANK THEM FOR WHEN THEY WERE THE GUARDIAN OF THE LETTER and $5 DOLLARS TO THE FIFTH PERSON SO MORE EMAILS CONTINUE TO GO OUT!
As you will also receive gratis - thanks AND THE SAME BLESSING. When your name is on the 1st slot, 8,000 to 15,000 people will send you 5 dollars!

TESTIMONIALS:
Mary Gatters, Columbus, SC: I only have one thing to say to you... OH MY GOD! I sent out 142 copies total before 20 replied, like the instructions said. Then I went on a short vacation. When I got back my account had over $32,000 dollars in it already and the money was still coming! I'm still floating on air (especially with my new car). I
Thought the 'guardian' system sounded cheesy, but now I realize it is the formula that makes this letter really work! THANKS!
Step 1. Set up your PayPal account, if you don't already have one, and send the top name (1st person) $5.00 dollars. DON'T FORGET to include "Please add me to your list".
Step 2. Send the other $5.00 dollars and an e-mail stating "Thank you I've Joined" to the 5th name on the list.
Step 3. Remove the top name, bump the other 4 names up 1 place each. Place your name in the bottom slot – you will receive a minimum of $100.00 or more from your efforts.
Step 4. Keep sending the letter until you get 20, "Thank you I've joined" replies in your inbox.
I know that you have seen this on Oprah or even received
Numerous messages about this simple program and have probably just deleted them, I know I have! But for some unknown reason this time I decided to give it a try, after all, it's only a $10.00 investment!
Please give it an honest effort, you will not be disappointed and will be very glad you did when it starts to work. Remember, all you’re going to be out of pocket is about the cost of a couple of coffees with the opportunity of banking thousands of dollars into your PayPal
Account!
Yours In Success & Prosperity
I go to Barnes and Noble in Mira Mesa, San Diego. I sit at a Starbucks table which is to a corner in the bookstore. I settle down with a frappucino, and a book in my hand. I see an Indian guy roaming close to where I am sitting. There's also a piece of paper with nothing written on the face that I see. I turn the other side, and it says "Excellent opportunity to make additional money. Retire fast !". I knew it was the scamster Indian. No wonder he tries to strike up a conversation with me in sometime. He says how suffocated he is with the shitty work he gets to do, and how an amazing amount of money he makes in the business and stuff. I ask him if its Quixtar, and he is dumbfound. I said thanks but no thanks, but the dumbF insists that I give him my friend's phone numbers. Asked him to eff off, in polite terms. I am an Indian too, and its a disgrace meeting such Indians
I gave a search in google, to check whether there are similar experience like mine. Shopping at Walmart has become a pain, with Indians asking stupid questions like "Would this thing be cheaper at Ikea?", "Aerobed, is this good?", "Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me".......fading away, "Will a 75 W bulb be ok in my room?". I am an Indian, and it pains to see such kind of idiotic behavior from fellow Indians. They don't touch others, only think that they have a birth right to pester other Indians. Many times I have been approached by the same person twice in a single hour.
If you see an Indian smiling at you and trying to strike conversation with you at Walmart, Fry's, Ikea, Borders, Target, Safeway, or any other department store, 99% probability is he/she is trying to fish you for quixstar.
The questions start like:
Is the furniture at Ikea any good? How is the shipping. I heard that Ikea is no good. Or, So! can't decide what to buy? Where can I buy a suit? etc. Then they say that it was nice talking to you, let's keep in touch and let's exchange phone numbers.
Avoid these people like plague. They are going to waste your time. Don't ever give them your phone number. They are quixtar desis. A blight on general desis.
I was fished into the first meeting by World Wide Group another name to mask Amway. Here's the approach at Barnes and Nobel business books section - questions - are you interested in business? What do you do? This question usually prompts you to ask the same. Their response (even if they are engineers or technicians) would be "I show smart people like to how to make money. I work on e-commerce business." I have been twice by the same person at the same place. JUST AVOID THEM... feel sorry for them actually because they have so much hopes and dreams with Quixtar...
3 days after I came to US in 2001 for studying MS, a dude in my campus helped me out in settling and finding a room, etc. After few days, he conducted a meeting wherein he boasted that his upline is making in millons and he is on the same path. I was taken to a seminar wherein some foolish craps talked about making millions of dollars by just spending 1/2 an hour a day or so. I was excited, but skeptical. Then, I joined his team and had to quit it bcoz of the pressure I got from my parents for not concentrating on my studying, etc. After 1 year, another sucker from the same "Quixtar" team again trapped me by saying all kind of craps. After few days, he asked me to buy 250$ worth of products from quixtar at the time when I was having tough time to pay for my room rent. When I said I could not, his mentor and his wife who were supposedly making thousands of dollars every month called me and said it is not sportive of a team member to say that i cannot purchase products and said buying stuff is very vital to stay in the business. They forced me so much when I had to say yes and bought some stupid energy drinks, cereal bars and stuff. They made me buy it, but after I got it, I had to sell it in the campus, nearer gas stations, candy stores, etc to get the money back so I could pay for my rent. Out of 250$, I sold stuff for 30$ and remaining was gone.
After a week, my upline came to me and asked me to buy some inspirational tapes from some psycho maniacs and also told me if i dont listen to them, then I wont be successful in the business. That was like 30$. I got it too and after a month he asked me come to some "great business conference in west virginia" which would be attended by all millionares and billionares. He did not leave me until I said yes and then I went there by paying 95$. After going there, I saw these bunch of idiots who are shouting and making wierd noises in name of financial freedom. Really, that thing made me go crazy and I after I came back and did some research on it and came to know that it was a big scam. After that i stopped attending that seminar. Even now I see those strange faces in wallmart, Indian groceries, etc, and whenever I see them, I just try to run away from them.
PEOPLE, QUIXTAR IS A BIG SCAM. DON'T BE TRAPPED BY THEM, IF YOU ALREADY ARE, TRY TO GET OUT OF IT TO SAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS EVERY MONTH. GET SMARTER NOW BEFORE YOU GO BRANKUPT.
Beware of Quixtar IBOs in shopping malls in NJ. Their favourite mall is Woodbridge Mall as many desis stay around that area in Central NJ. I was approached by an South Indian guy and he took my number. He then called regarding joining some business oppurtunity...guess what...it was quixtar..? BEWARE OF ANY INDIAN GUY/COUPLE APPROACHING YOU IN WOODBRIDGE MALL !!!!!
In my opinion, Quixtar downline distributors are desperate "Chipkus"!
The typical Amway/Quixtar dream is to "retire" from a day job with unlimited time and financial freedom. For those wanting to achieve this dream with the "2-5 year plan", the business becomes a way of life consuming every spare moment of time, and their complete mental attention. Unfortunately the 2-5 year plan is nothing more than an elusive dream and most participants will lose time with their families, and thousands of dollars a year. For many, the Amway dream turns into a personal financial nightmare as distributors spend thousands of dollars on their upline's optional but necessary support system of motivational conferences and tapes.
Someone wrote -
"I like to call the Amway / Quixtar business "Americas most respected fraudulent marketing scheme". This is because the vast majority of people see Amway as an American free enterprise success story, but few people know about the scheme's dark secrets. The vast majority of the public, politicians, Amway/Quixtar's suppliers and Partner Stores, have no idea of the 20 year systematic fraud and collusion between the Amway Corporation and the king pin distributors of the IBOA. This has resulted in hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars in losses from innocent, hardworking people from their "free enterprise" business opportunity based upon false information, exaggerations, lies and popular myths.
Distributors advertise a jackpot payoff of time and financial independence just by building communities of Quixtar consumers. However, the financially independent multi-millionaires are really the kingpin distributors bilking their downline with high pressure sales techniques for their tape and seminar systems. These systems are technically illegal pyramid schemes since they sell most of their products within their own groups who hope to one day make money from these materials as well."
"Recruits are brainwashed into spending a fortune on peripherals while consuming Amway products. They either lose their shirts or begin making money by getting enough people underneath to do the same." - Don Gregory speechwriter for AMWAY's Co-founder Jay Van Andel Forbes March 25, 1985
Every year, a lot of Indian students(F1 visa) and Job seekers(on H1B visa mostly IT folks) come to USA from India in the hopes to make some money here for themselves and for their loved one back home. In 99% of the cases, these people don't bring enough money and are desperate to get jobs as quickly as possible. They are usually short on funds. These people are not aware of the Quixtar and Amway business or the fradulent people that exist in quixtar and the folks at quixtar(IBOs) know it as well. So they become easy prey to the quixtar folks. Before they could get acquinted with the new surrounding in USA, they are indoctrinated into quixtar's cult mind control techniques. I am an Indian and had the same experience when I came here as a student. I am thankful to god and my friends from back home, who helped me come out of that cult mentality before I could destroy my career, my money, peace of mind for false leaders in Quixtar for achieving the dreams of 'Going Diamond'.
I believe new immigrants are the easiest targets for quixtar's IBOs. The new students in USA should be given orientation and warned about these groups when they first arrive in USA. Similarly the employers should provide orientation to their new employees in USA about Quixtar(Amway) and their fradulent contacting techniques.
Hi,
Even our experience with Quixtar people is similar. In the beginning they claim to be doing some hi-fi e-commerce business, but they end up selling washing powder and some stupid energy drinks like roadside sellers. God knows, even if these greedy desis land up in Moon, they never give up their substandard life.
An ex colleague and old friend of mine called me one evening and after usual chit chat and remembering old memories, stated that he is making lot of money doing his own business. He mentioned that he will contact his guide and arrange a meeting with him for more details and told me not to talk to anyone about it. Then he started pulling me into attending conferences. I am on H1 visa and asked him if it is legal to do this on H1. He said he is on H1 & his senior is on H1 and it is legal to do this business. Reluctantly I joined in 2003 and was forced to buy stuff every now & then. I found that my friend and his up line used to contact me every other day till I joined and whenever they wanted me to buy stuff. The last order I placed with Quixtar was in April 2004. I could sell some items but most of them were used up by me as nobody would buy them. After that I stopped doing any business with Quixtar and did not renew my membership. The moment I told my friend that I am not renewing my business membership, I stopped receiving calls and any responses to my messages from him. Then I started looking around for QUIXTAR and found that it is huge scam and came to know that it is illegal for H1 Visa holders to do that business. Now I am not sure what will happen to my Green card process since I have already done it.
Never trust anyone who says he is making business on quixtar, even if he is a friend.
I wonder how many of this is true. But what ever it is there is money to be made.I would ask a simple question to those who joined the business and then quit that: Did they give what was required? If yes , and they failed then it is the fault of the system. If no and they failed then I think they should not blame the system.
Others who have not joined it and just have seen it they should ask themselves what is the risk and what is the benefit? Is it worth giving a shot?
I believe most of the Indians or any other people who might have approached you in the past may be wrong in their method and I believe people skill are essential for this business. If those people did not have them , you may fill disgust. But when you are with professional it's a complete different story and you can learn a lot from them.
Conclusion : I believe that Quixtar/Amway business work given that you follow the core basic steps. If not it really does not work. Not don't you think that it is fair? If the answer is no.Then get this thing in your mind. Life is indeed Unfair, get used to it.
And more than that these Quixtar people are way more happy then you are.I wonder How many of them wold be laughing at you?
What are the core basic Amquix steps?
1. Buy items from Amquix
2. TRY to sell it to others for, hopefully, some profit.
3. Attend Open meetings, PASE meetings, FED and whatever else.
4. Buy and listen to CD's and tapes about people personal stories with no reference to their business figures and facts - and have them SOT
5. Find other suckers at walmart, fry's etc to join and follow all these steps, including this one.
6. Continue hoping that you will have a big enough downline to 'break a leg' and make a good enough bonus check.
Even with one sucker born every 2 seconds in the world, more people are getting smarter and understand concepts like market saturation, negative sum game etc.
It is illegal for an H1 to work on ANY business - period. You can only be paid by the H1 sponsor thru their payroll system. Even day trading is illegal as per definition - doing it and making profit/loss and not being deported is not an excuse.
Any successful business person will focus on getting more customers than teaching others to copy his business. If one wants to start a business there are lots of avenues for him to get information. If someone does not know how to get more information on starting his business in this age (2007) and needs someone he met in walmart to tell him, he should realize he is not fit for it and should not start one. Also if you are successful in Amquix and are financially debt free, worry free, you should stop bothering strangers and asking their phone numbers. If you are just starting in Amquix, then focus on selling the products to those people, you will get more success that way.
Ok if any one of you Ambot's are going to respond to this, just respond to the 6 points at the top and tell me what core step I am missing. Any thing else can be debated to death in an endless loop.

Quixtar is a "clever" scam. The people that were defensive here were told by their groups to write in their defense...how I know?? One of my friends admitted to it. They make their money by making you buy their cd's books, attending $6 seminars then their grand conference csting $200 multiply that by millions of fools means someone is rich guaranteed not a downline making that monthly $20 check. Start a ligit business, work for a ligit company, make the money by hard working. Jobs dont have a security but does anything have it? Even quixtar like their so called sister company amway will break (but I believe to be Quixtar to be Amway under a new name). Anyway people bottom line is Quixtar is a border illegal pyramid, so if you see one of these fools just tell them you are an IBO already so you can end the conversation really quick or just punch them in their face, take care.
Quixtar... i came to know of this business only couple of weeks back through one of my cousins who asked me to attend this conference where they celebrate the Financial Freedom of those who have made it big in this business. I was not very sure of it and the thought that you can make it big by selling house-hold items. But he said that it will be a fun trip and all you need to shell is 100 bucks of conference ticket and close to 130 bucks for the bus and hotel cost. I was also told that i would definitely get to meet like minded people and network. So i decided what the hell if nothing it would be a good outing and a different experience. So i decided to join him and what followed is an experience that brain washes you and hammers into your mind the notion that joining Quixtar is the only thing close to salvation in this world and you have been wasting your life till this moment in the 9-5 job you are doing. It showcased the success stories and fairytale lifestyles of the so called 'Diamond members' of their 'Business', who were treated like movie stars and politicians. I have heard the phrase "There is no business like Show business" but they made even that look meek. All you need to do is to follow some simple principles and recruit a sales force who will do the same and so i come back all "fired up" to join this business and do better than the most successful guy there. But when the hype faded and i do a little research and apply logic to what all was said and promised, the veil to the whole scam gets uncovered slowly before I realise i would be a victim to their propoganda if i signed up and would get "plugged in" to a vicious system which rather than making me financially free, will eat away whatever freedom i currently enjoy financial or otherwise and make me cheat others also in doing the same. My suggestion to all who want to join this business or are in this business, is to just take an objective and informed decision and look behind the hype. There is no short cut to success and there are no free lunches in this world and yes do go to www.merchantsofdeception.com
It is unfortunate that it is mainly immigrants who fall for this Quixtar scam.
To be a real business, you have to sell a product or a service that is competitively priced. Quixtar does neither. Thats why almost all the sales are within the system. (that is exactly what a pyramid is).
Quixtards are told in their meetings that 90% of Americans over age 65 are broke. This is simply not true. Have you immigrants ever met any Americans over 65?
Focus on your job/career/profession and you can have a good retirement. Dont lose the money that you make from your 9-5 job to Quixtar.
If you are too stupid to realize that Quixtar is scam, then you deserve to be in Quixtar.
Wow! Quixstar.com!! I'm so excited -- Not!
A couple of weeks ago, I met a friend of a family friend. He's nice and educated (Engineer by trade). He told me he's a consultant and runs his own business on the side. We met at my place and he had some tea and snacks and it was a friendly converstation mostly. He seemed like a nice enough guy and when he asked me for my phone number I didn't hesitate to give it to him. It's always nice to have connections.
A couple of weeks later he talks calls me up and asks me if I am looking for other opportunities. He wanted to discuss his E-Commerce business with me. So I agreed and we set up a meeting. (Little did I know that this was going to be the "Mysterious Meeting" I keep reading about on the web).
At the meeting he asks me how $800-2700 would change my life -- Ding Ding-- Alarm bells go off him my head. This guy is trying to sell me something. I play along. He gives me his speech about getting manufacturers connected to consumers etc.. for about 30 minutes. At the end -- I had no idea what the heck his business is about. I asked him some questions, but no clear answers were provided. Conveniently, there was another meeting at a banquet room in a couple of days that I would get more details at.
By now, I'm curious what the heck this guy really does -- so I went. Mistake Number 2.
There were about 120 people there - mostly Indians. The speech seemed mysteriously familiar so what I had already heard -- same format and buzz words etc. I was offered some "loaner" motivational CDs and information about the company. I even took the time to listen to the damn CD.
Here's what I got out of the "meetings".
1. It's an internet business.
2. You have to recruit people to make $
3. The company is Quixstar.com.
4. I'm going to get rich by working 8-10 hours a day.
5. My children's future will be secure (Oh by the Indians love that line).
6. For $12 a ticket I can attend another meeting to get more details and meet a Quixstar millionaire -- Woo Hoo!!
I was told don't use Google to see the reviews. So Guess what I did as soon as I got home... Google.. "Quixstar indians" and I landed here.
I found some other blogs about this Quixstar crap and Amway. I hate to see this guy fall into this pyramid scheme trap.
I'm kicking myself for wasting 5 hours of my life on meetings -- Atleast I didn't get suckered into spending any money.
I've been approached quite a number of times by other Indians regarding the Quixtar scam.
My first experience was in 2001 in Boston, soon after graduating from college and starting my career. I gave some Indian my number not knowing what he was selling. Went to the meeting, didn't buy into the hype, and did some research and learned about the scam.
I didn't get hooked then, and I don't now. I have been approached three times in the Boston area, now I live in Philly and I still get asked to join their scam. Maybe its my "normal" american-born personality, I don't know.
I haven't seen any AB desis, they are mainly immigrants who join. Probably 'cause we AB are more aware or skeptical of scammers??
I have become an expert in profiling Indian IBOs, and asking pointed questions. I mostly tell them I'm not interested but sometime I have fun with them.
Do the following next time someone bugs you. Tell them you are also an IBO, and that you are a "diamond" or "emerald". Find out who their "upline" or sponsor is.
Tell them you have some new "tools" that can make you rich faster.
Maybe even con them in joining your new business venture that you started with your "residual" income. But, I digress...I have too much self-respect and dignity to fool others.
What really stinks is that my neighbor in my apt. is sucked into this Quixtar/BWW scam. He claims he is a Platinum but never tells me how much he makes. Why the secrecy?
I also asked him how big is his group, or how many sponsors he has? He didn't give a number, just said they have a big group.
They don't use the phrase "downlines" or uplines. The ever evolving vocabulary is essential for their survival.
I asked him and his sponsor about statistics: only 0.22% of IBOs reach Platinum status, about 0.015% reach Diamond. They say its irrelevant, the only thing that matters is your dream.
So, dream big, disregard reality. Logic and reason has no place in the Quixtar scam. Talk about delusions. Pass the Kool-aid please...
Well, I'm off to my local mall for a few things. Wish me luck as I try to dodge IBOs.
I will not say how much disgusting my experience with this whole Quixtar thing as I think others above have done a very good job.
Probably, these posts are being read by some Quixtar IBOs and they will make the same idiotic arguments the unrealistically friendly couple that met me and my wife at a hospital.
Whether its a scam or not, is not the point. If its a ethical and genuine business which can make a lot of money, why do you need to recruit poeple at shopping malls and hospitals on the pretext of courteous social greetings. Why do you need to lie about what actually the real business model until you have dragged them to one of your seminars.
The whole time they talked to me, i kept scratching my head, why on earth are they being so nice to me.
More than the time i wasted on that stupid seminar, what i am really frustrated about is that i was taken for a ride by a couple who i thought could become good friends.
Probably, some people do make money in this, not sure how much. But it comes at a very high cost.It comes at the cost of losing your friends and relatives respect. No wonder, you come to the point where a shopping mall becomes your best shot at socializing.
Cheers,
CyberDesi,
P.S : Never trust old enemy and a new friend(especially if you met him a mall)
Dear fellow Indians,
I am writing this purely because I do not want any of my countrymen to make any wrong decisions. It is a summary of my experience and my conclusions:
(1) It is not legal for an F-1 student visa holder or an H-1 work visa holder to engage in any type of business activity
(2) Selling stuff to my friends is something I can never do as it will only alienate me from them and destroy any relationships I worked hard to build in this land of my dreams
(3) For all the tall claims of millions of dollars, what an IBO actually makes is a measly $115 a month, most of which will be gone in attending conferences, buying stuff from the company, and traveling. It is the top of the pyramid which actually makes some money, and that's why they are terribly excited when you consent to join them. Do you think it is really worth it to risk your career and your legal status in the States and your relationship with your boss who pays you to do legal stuff?
(4) You know that what you'd be actually selling is energy drinks and cosmetics on the roadside. How graceful do you really think that is?
(5) The way they entice members is something that should get your internal alarm going: for me personally, a local girl that I had hit on months ago and never talked to since, sends me a message and says that I am smart, professional, have a great character, and am the one they are looking for for their great business. She never really knew me, you see. And when we meet and I ask her what exactly the business is, she and her boyfriend give vague answers - "it is what you CAN do, you have to show us what you HAVE" and all that c***. Alarm bell getting stronger? I mention the issue of the law and the guy tells me not to put down my social security number. Oh well. I know by now that something is not quite right about the whole thing, and I start getting this nagging qualm inside of me. Still, I go to the meeting. Big smiles, welcoming handclasps, positive attitudes, fired-up speeches. No mention of the fact that what you actually have to do is buy stuff from them and sell it to others. The question is, if it is not a scam, if their intentions are good, why on earth will they wrap the whole thing in such a facade?
(6) MOST Americans are not into this kind of stuff... if you have a local friend who's in this business you know that his family doesn't support it. America is known for business, but this particular 'business' is despised even here.
Don't fall for it. There are no shortcuts to success.
'Nuff said.
All I wanna say is - there is no short cut to making money. We Indians world over are recognised for our immense potential and slogging attitude and that's how it should always be. I have been to numerous conferences and meetings and i concluded that all in all it was a sheer wastage of time, money and all at the cost of what- NOTHING. THIS SUCKS BIGTIME. the IBOs, the so called "Diamonds", "Emeralds" are all so hollow from within. The false show, meretriciousness of wealth is so evident . Don't fall for them. Just do what you came here to do.
Good Luck!
thet try to pull be in there chain on second day of my arrival in US
These are Indians from India. Lots of them. Quixtar argets fresh students who come to US, and try to enroll them.
