Birthday party deemed a success
"It's my party and I'll cry if I want
to" goes the old tune and Saturday Robert the BabyCow put those
words into action. While a few obligatory party tears were shed
during the event, the overwhelming mood of the celebration was set
by smiles, grins and squeals of laughter. Those in attendance joined
Robert in his enthusiasm for gifts, wrapping paper and homemade
clown cake.
The
highlight of the party came when Robert fed himself a large helping
of homemade clown cake. In his haste to devour the normally forbidden
sugar he made an enormous mess. Cake on his face. Cake on his hands.
Icing in his hair. A delightful mess.
"He was really, really cute trying to
eat his first cake," said Ma Cow.
The party began with the opening of presents.
Robert enjoyed every last gift but at times seemed to enjoy the
boxes and wrapping paper a bit more.
A bumble ball was probably the single most
amusing gift. It is a softball sized contraption with an electronic
gyroscope inside. The gyroscope causes the "ball" to bounce
and vibrate in all directions and Robert inevitably attempted to
chew the "ball" which in turn shook his head amusingly.
Those in attendance were Grandma and Grandpa
FedEx of Germantown, Michele and her daughter Noel and Kim from
Arkansas. Also, Emily from across the barnyard showed up and kept
Jordan company while the party progressed.
All look forward to next years celebration
and hope that more will be able to attend this annual event.
